I suffer from chronic IBS-C, Anxiety, and various forms of Depression. I heard this and I just broke down. I relate to this on such a serious level. I love Our Last Night! This song has truly become my power song.

Our last night singer really did good on this song but you have my step dad to thank because he is the ghostwriter of this song and many more great songs sung by this band. If my step dad didn’t exist this song would never exist and that’s on Jesus and my city the land of Christ Aka Corpus Christi where my step dad now resides and kicks it with gold soul if you know who that is. Gold soul a quick search away my step dad has hella photos with him even before the face tats. Gold soul has nothing to do with my step dads music but people don’t believe things until they see things but I wouldn’t waste my time like this if I didn’t know 100% that my step dad wrote this song. He gets real emotional and angry listening to this band play his music. After all this specific song my step dad wrote is about his uncle who passed away. Listen to the lyrics and you can easily put it together and connect the lyrics with the passing of anyone but mainly my step fathers uncle. Rip my step dads contract and his music.

I can't even say what an impact this song has made in my life. I found this in 2016 but I just loved the singing and Instrumentals. I didn't really pay much attention to the lyrics but i loved this song. Few Years Passed, and now whenever i'd have a bad day, when you feel life's going downhill and when i felt really exhausted I'd listen to this song. I would have a bad day at school and when i reach home and listen to this, It gives me a energetic vibe to stand up and face all problems. Thank you Our Last Night.

2020 and I still FEEL this song as the first time. It's so powerful and beautiful. It reminds me of my teenage days 🥺 hope I see them again 🇦🇷
I feel like I need to interpret this song, or more, the video.
So, I think this song and video is about depression.
The illness is presented by the ones that keep him in captivity. The ones who are coming to save him, are his friends because he can't get out of it alone. But with help he manages to do that and in the end he turns 'against' the depression and shows how there is still light inside of him. Now, what I noticed, was that his saviors weren't holding lights up, but all the other people coming out of the dark did. So maybe these people suffered, like him, from deperession and were imprisoned but they fighted and eventually won and now they're standing together, showing that he is not alone and altoghether they're not just one, but a million of lights. Of people who are fighting the same old war, but are still having hopes and dreams they show that one day they will be able to escape their prison.
Just thoughts I had while watching this video, I didn't especially listened to the lyrics but one line that stuck with me was "they say it's a battle that can't be won". And yeah, it is damn hard to fight depression, because you're already fighting yourself, I know that, but like the video shows: don't give up. You'll make it. Embrace your light, shine. One day every war will end.
