Great! Being my truck is a city dweller with seasonal desert trips in So Cal, ill probably just cut the bolt off. Last truck was an 06 Silverado without these and i never had a need for them on that truck. Removing for a T-Rex grill insert that i just purchased. Appreciate the vid! And love the Betsy Ross flag T
Man I almost gave up trying until I seen this video. I tried to bend it up with a jack but it just started lifting the whole truck😂 didn't think to pry it down.. Ty! ✊
great help on removing tow hooks for chevy silverado without having to cut the bolt. re shirt, thanks for being a patriot, sir. i too, support 1776 and a patriot/conservative myself, open and vocal about it, with flags all over my house too. this video is really helpful. i'd like to see more of this, plus your fam fun travels as well.
Hey man, not sure if you still reply to these comments, but I have a question. I’m planning on installing a brush guard on my 2017 Silverado. I already ordered a replacement bolt for the one I’m gonna have to cut the head off of. Is there any reason I wouldn’t be able to install the new bolt in the opposite direction?
That's a great question... I know I did break my buddy's tow hook on his 98 Chevy Silverado trying to help him get unstuck. Thought that thing was going through my rear window. Maybe that's why, but not sure.

If I remember correctly, I believe that you should be able to, but not 100% sure. I would check our truck but it’s not here with us right now.

A cutoff wheel would do that job in five seconds. What is the advantage to not cutting it?
I agree... the advantage is not going to the hardware store or dealership.
If I were to cut it off, will I be able to insert a new bolt on the other side ?
I believe that you could and put the nut on the opposite side.
I will crawl underneath the truck tomorrow and give you a better answer.
Can you show us how to open up that beer again? 😆
Sure, I don’t see why not….lol

Why would you want to remove them? I actually want to try and replace a hook with a tow hitch, but I haven’t found one.
We removed ours so we could install our winch mount.

Why do these trucks have tow loops not hooks?
That's a great question... I know I did break my buddy's tow hook on his 98 Chevy Silverado trying to help him get unstuck. Thought that thing was going through my rear window. Maybe that's why, but not sure.

Should have just put the longer bolt in the other side to begin with problem solved.
True…
Going to just cut the bolt off get new one then put it on other side. In your opinion you think this is ok
Nothing wrong with doing that... I just wanted to prove it to myself that I could do it without going that route.
Did you ever cut the bolt? If so, what size bolt and everything did you use to replace it?
@@JesseMcClurg I did not just removed it then put it in the other way
