The things that concern me with this game are the whole Print to demand singles, sounds like a massive logistics nightmare and could negatively impact LGS's who might have trouble selling singles and things in the future if people can just print cards they've scanned in the past and get more copies? not sure how all that will impact the game long term. It looks awesome and very professional out the gate though.
This is my concern as well. I’m also not a fan of QR codes on the card. Just looks cheap to me. Not a huge fan of the fortnite artwork either but I can look past that. It looks well put together. There’s clearly an audience for a cheap non collectible card game so perhaps that’s their angle. Release a set and people can print what they want when they want it and really not have a secondary market. I could be wrong on that, I’m interested to see how it plays out but for now I won’t be buying in. Nothing against the game, I’m just a collector first
Very important callout that print on demand does NOT multiply ownership. So the if you crack a pack and open an “Athena”. You’ll be the exclusive owner of that card. If you print 10 proxy copies through PoD, those printed cards won’t be able to be scanned by another player to add to their own collection. They’re just very nice proxy copies. It’s great for your casual play circle because if they don’t care about OP then playing with your proxies is fine, but if they want to play in any level of OP or if they want true ownership or printing rights, they couldn’t do that with printed copies
@@pastimegaminyou can only print cards if you own it already. You can’t just got to their site and print any cards you want. You only get cards through booster packs and then the app is a digital record of the cards you own. So the PoD is really just a very efficient way to make high quality proxies. If you sold your proxies to a someone else (but didn’t actually sell the digital rights to them) they’d be able to play with the card around the kitchen table casually, but they couldn’t participate in OP with it or print their own extra copies with it
Love that u drew the parallel to nomnom regarding the dungeon/exploration aspect. Definitely very different though given nomnoms focus on combat and how the dungeon isnt just a race but you have to defeat a boss to win once ur there. Still was cool to hear someone mention the game tho!

Yah that's my thought as well. Sounds good in theory, but how is it actually going to work?

Great in-depth overview. Really looking forward to this. Locked in the $5K divine tier pledge.

Yah, that's a pretty good value. I think it's a good call. If I had the funds around I would probably go for it too!
