unironically, i got an youtube ad right this moment
😂
Not a part of 23H2 but the Weather app now has Severe weather notifications, daily forecast notifications, and in some regions live notifications on when rain starts/stops, I thought this was pretty neat since its similar to what Apple does with their weather app now
So does every $99 phone in the world. Not something to be impressed about.

File Explorer Collections is just like Windows Photo Gallery app from the Windows 7 era but now part of Explorer. It's great to see Microsoft finally making an effort to add useful quality of life features.
i think it's from vista
@@rchltmediaWe don’t talk about Vista
They stopped reinventing the wheel with Windows for the first time in over a decade and finally got File Explorer tabs and layers in Paint as a result. Although I long to see the stability and performance again of Windows 8/7. Also less ads and nagging.
This is why everyone are moving to Linux. Linux is becoming more successful thanks to Windows 11 failure. The new Linux era is coming. Just move to Linux.
@@joshuahernandez-th6ovyou wish. Linux has done nothing to simplify their UX to satisfy the average customer. As long as they don’t do that and reach the level of Windows/MacOS, doesn’t matter what kind of shit talking and promotion you do for Linux, it still won’t get people to switch from Windows.
And that’s not me boot licking Windows, that’s me looking at the facts. Windows is not dying anytime soon, not even close specially when companies and gamers use Windows for their everyday workflow. Software needs to work on your OS otherwise it’s a no go and we all know how bad support for Linux is to the point that you have to go through uncertified third parties to get things working. No one’s got time for that. Also don’t expect the average user to go through shit UX just install Excel or Word or get a game working.
The new Linux era was said to be coming for decades and nothing has changed and nothing will change for a very long time. I can easily bet money on that. The closest thing we got for that is from SteamOS but we’re still not even close to there yet since thousands of games still don’t work natively.
Best update so far. Brining good new features and old good ones back. Thinking about to switch now.
Switch to any Linux distro

Good luck with that 5% market share
@@Pingwinho definetly not 5%. Remember that 80% of servers run Linux.
7:36 dear god, just look at how slow that is.
Explorer has been slow as shit since forever, Microsoft does not seem to care.
Dear God*
I think I remember reading that Snipping tool also (finally) records desktop audio alongside video recordings. Not sure if this is in this release or part of a future rollout but definitely a valuable addition not mentioned here
You are Pringles!
it would be really nice to allow customization of Settings homepage, although recently used things are nice, being able to arrange own layout with certain panels (or maybe even monitoring, in similar style like Windows Server web interface)
17:05 I've been waiting for this Windows 11 update for a long time. For me, this is the most useful update! 👍
Because it's uncomfortable to click on the small icons of open applications, especially on large screen resolutions, and I don't understand why they removed the handy tabs that were in previous versions of Windows in the first place.
Yeah, you are right. Now I'm just awaiting official support to move my taskbar to other sides of the screen without glitching.

Can't believe I'd ever be excited for *MS Paint* of all things this decade.
Collections in File Explorer is using Libraries. A Windows 7 era feature which is no longer displayed to the user but Windows Media Player, the Photos app use it too.
I am happy with the fact that Microsoft is moving on the right path and it is serious about windows now.
I am really happy, Microsoft is listening and improving the windows for everyone.
the teams app ws always standalone app before too. the chat icon was just a shortcut to that. you could uninstall it and hide the chat icon and it's exactly like it is now. Of all the thing i dont know why eu went for this
Windows 11 is getting really good. I still haven't updated yet but it's a heavy consideration now
I actually love all the little things they are improving. It makes W11 easily my favourite version of Windows ever. (Don't really care for Copilot at this point but I don't mind it being there)
You do realize that Copilot is increasing the amount of bloat Windows 11 already comes with, right?
@@siddiki9778 Bloat is waste of resources without improving much. Not sure if co-pilot is as wasteful as bloat.
But it'll surely be carried over to all our devices. Good thing is on windows you can remove what you do not want through powershell, regedit, cmd...

I'm surely impressed by the ammount of old stuff MS brought back with a new look and addicional features.

Is the game performance improved?
Because I only use Windows for games.
Will They, Microsoft Be Bringing Back The Media Center Program, Which Is Why I Still Have A Win 7 Computer Here, So That I Can Still Watch My DVD's Through A Firewire Port In It, As Well As A Win11 Computer Here ???
Is windows 11 finally able to change the location of the task bar? Can't switch till I'm able to use it on the right side, vertically. I only have a laptop, vertical real-estate is crucial.
If they ever bring it back, it likely won't include top as an option as Windows 12/Windows 11 2024 Update is expected to move the system tray to the top.
Windows 11 still not smooth yet some animations misbehave.Opens slowly after the update but still after this it looks very cool

Great rundown thank you
Notepad in dark mode and paint! I need to build a new PC. This is 🔥
I'm still on the 22H2 update but I already have almost all the features you mentioned in this video
You probably already have the 23H3 updates. It's just the build no. that hasn't changed in the system setting description yet.
Anyone else notice the date on that computer is 10/11/2023?
Thanks🙂 Did MS fixed the bug in 23H, and getting the File Explorer that dont shows search file history ?? Even that the function is enabled in windows settings it dosnt work at current state (22H). I have search the internet and tried diffent fixes but nothing helps. Many users are having this issue. Maybe you can help answer this ?
The cumulatives updates for this update doesnt work keeps failing with all troubleshooters not working
After updating to the latest version of Windows 11, the Explorer in Windows Sandbox doesn't work properly. Whenever the explorer is launched, it results in a black screen after a few seconds. Right mouse click results in a black screen.
The most useful change is the one about taskbar "combine icons" -- I hated it the most when it was at "always" and could not change at least to "when taskbar is full" or at "none" as you can do now !
But, the new update introduced a silly change as well: now File explorer changes it's icon automatically, depending upon the folder and/or disk you're pointing it to (right now I observe the difference from what the taskbar image of explorer is when I am on a simple folder, as opposed to when I am at the C: root level, or at the "This PC" level).
And this is quite annoying ! So much so that the first time I noticed it, I though that I accidently closed the explorer window !! Is there any option to change this behavior to previous one (that means: all folders should have that same default icon that you see for a folder). Even if this could be changed from registry !
Just move to Linux.
@@joshuahernandez-th6ov Well, thanks. I watched this video, and wrote that from my Linux computer, so I know about it.
But I also need to use also a Windows laptop for other tasks, also at work, like the Linux one.
So I'm in both worlds, every day.
Yeah I freaked out when I had to use windows 11 at a university pc and discovered that I could not switch off "combine icons". It seriously degrades my productivity to the point that I'd rather stick with 10 just for that. Glad to find out that when I will have to switch, at least that thing won't be an issue.

How’s it’s battery life (for laptops) in comparison to 22H2?
Windows is getting cooler by the day
Man, I want this update so bad!
are paint's ai features run on client or do they contact microsoft servers?
My question: Can you finally disable the news in the widget menu?
That was supposed to be coming but it's not there yet.
HelP! My pc has 23H2 features but in the settings it only shows that my sytem is 22H2...
No one's answered if you can compress to RAR etc... or is it still ZIP only? Thanks.
Oh joy, I’m making the grand switch back to Windows OS because, surprise, I’ve opted for a gaming laptop. As much as I adore my Mac, it’s shocking how it doesn’t cater to my gaming needs. I’m content with my iPhone and Mac, but alas, the call for a new laptop beckons - one I’ll order today, no less. How fortunate am I to stumble upon a channel that’s all about Windows updates and content? It’s not like I need to stay informed or anything, especially being visually impaired/blind. Truly a stroke of luck. Cheers indeed.

They should bring Image to Text snip (Powertoys feature) and integrate with snipping tool and make it more intelligent. That would be very helpful.
They already did.
in the file explorer they need to add support for tagging and othere metadata for important file formats like PNGs. Staying organize is a mess right now.

Two issues:
1. I can't resize taskbar. I need the small taskbar.
2. Can't find Copilot on my Windows 23H2 OS

I literally paused the video randomly to check how much of Classic Doctor Who had been added to iPlayer as it's slowly being added over several hours, and I come back here to see your network is called TARDIS
reinstalling on my old pc and on my vm, insider beta on my main PC
Power toys should be part of the whole thing now, it’s so good.
Anyone has problems with 23H2 version? I had to factory reset and go back to 22H2 on a 4 months old PC with RTX4090. Basically the whole PC had problems opening apps and games after the update. I’ve paused the updates for 5 weeks. If anyone has any idea how to solve this please give me a shout. Thanks
👍 Thank you! 😍
I HATE what they did to the file explorer address bar. After the update I kept clicking 'New' in the top left due to muscle memory. That file command bar needs to be shrunk down or removed. I never use it and it wastes so much space.

Watching Windows striving to keep up with KDE Plasma, Proton's stability improving, and Adobe Suite transitioning to a web interface fills me with excitement. I can't help but think that we're moving closer to the day when Linux might finally replace Windows on the desktop - a day I'm eagerly and impatiently looking forward to! 🌟🐧💻
If we on past releases, Windows 12 should appear in the fall or at least in the second half of 2024. So why do we need Windows 11 with its bugs, if there is less than a year left before Windows 12?... Is it worth changing the stable Windows 10 LTSC to a more overloaded and unstable Windows 11?
Most likely will be called Windows 11 2024 Update instead of Windows 12 according to rumors, but the massive "system tray on top" accidental leak from October 2022 makes me think it will be Windows 12.
Just move to Linux.
Man, I kinda wish they retained the name Cortana instead of Copilot and then have Cortana's voice actress greet the user whenever it's activated.
Simple phrases like "Hi, good day!,"Hello, what can I help you with?", or"Good evening, do you need anything?" sounds nice to have for the average user but much more fun the Halo fan user.

How is Windows 11 for gaming ? My PC specs: i7 10700K, RTX 2070 Super, 16 GB 1 stick RAM.
And they removed one more thing before the moment 4 update we could just simply drag the file to the folder name present in directory and it will simply be pasted to that folder.
Just like the taskbar, the file explorer address bar was rebuilt so the feature was removed.
@@techwithtyler20 It was good though but now it is pain in the ass I would rather start using windows 10 if they don't fix and return all these features in windows 11 or bring in windows 12
I don't like that if you originally signed in without having to make a Windows account it now makes you forces you and I was on vacation and I couldn't get into my laptop
Cant believe how you quickly dismissed the TASKBAR update as many have held off updating to W11 because of this feature being missing until now
Is the agenda when clicking on the date in the taskbar back?
No. Surprised they added features to it in 2019 while at the same time getting ready for the redesign which would remove it.
More importantly with the virtual desktops, they added back the animation from windows 10. In windows 11 you never got an animation which made it really hard to track what desktop you were in
It was removed because it was buggy. The bug was fixed so now it's back.
