American Learns Fluent Spanish in 15 Days, Shocks Native Speakers

  • Today is my third week of learning Spanish (15 days total study time) and I logged onto Spanish Omegle and VRChat to test my Spanish. I definitely managed to impress some native speakers, which was really cool! My Spanish is far from perfect but I’m at a level now where I can speak fluently about a lot of topics - I haven’t learned this language to the point where I can talk comfortably about nuclear physics, but I’m pretty surprised by how much progress you can make by focusing exclusively on practicing speaking. It’s pretty amazing what you can do with an Internet connection during quarantine!

    Learning Spanish through Stories?
The course I used initially to give me a good foundation in Spanish was called “Spanish Uncovered” by the polyglot Olly Richards, which is a way to learn Spanish naturally through stories. I really enjoyed it, and it seems to be an excellent way to get a good foundation in a new language. bit.ly/3pPB0we

Average Aufa EXACTLY what I was about to post!! He’s frickin’ amazing at language learning! AND... it’s totally possible for ANYONE of us too! I’m also learning Spanish, beginning at around the same time as Xiaoma. The difference is, he’s doing it all day long, which I’m not. I think anybody with his dedication and the right strategy, along with the courage to let it all out there, warts and all, can do it. So XiaomaNYC... keep doing your thing, you’re such an inspiration! I’m following along!

I think that the fact that he does it for multiple hours per day also helps a lot, I've been learning French for about two months and don't speak it nearly as well as he speaks Spanish because I only practice about 20min a day.
A couple of years ago when I started learning English I got fairly good pretty quickly because I would watch English UA-cam videos for a least 5 hours a day.

The system tells you it takes years to learn; you can't learn a new language past a certain age; you have to do this, you have to do that; yadda yadda yadda... which is why the system is literally crumbling as we speak. Todos deben agradecer a Dios por la corona por revelar la verdad de esto, y también por dejarnos saber qué sistemas están funcionando realmente. I think anybody with his dedication and the right strategy, along with the courage to let it all out there, warts and all, can do it.

ExpreSSpanish I’ve been studying Spanish for the last few months intensely. And I have seen much much improvement. And I can speak better than he can. But I wouldn’t dare claim to be fluent. Fluency is about more than speaking. It’s writing, listening, and having the ability to express yourself completely. I still consider myself a beginner (almost intermediate).... I just don’t see how this is encouraging to learners. They’re gonna see their failure to be at fluency within a month and then just give up
