I know it’s days later until you get the comments but A&D ointment is the best heal chafing and safe to use on any body part!! I once had some delivered to me in the middle of a backpacking trip and it literally saved my trip!
Doing great…we can only do the best as we can. Maybe a zero day to get some relief from the heat get new shorts, see about your pack rubbing you issue, etc. … thanks for sharing!🙂🙏
You’re making this happen, step by step! May not feel rockstar at the moment, but it is. Commando is where it’s at. Ventilation is key, glimpses of cleft be damned.
I remember my first day on trail in July it was drizzling but warm. I didn’t feel like I was exerting so much but the sweat was just poring on my face, chest and back! (that was not long before I met you at the Denton shelter N. Of Front Royal). Must be so nice to have the water sources be a bit more reliable. I had to laugh about the privies. The ones on the Superior Hiking Trail and some on the Ice Age Trail are mostly like that! All open air with a view. Those seats can get pretty chilly in the fall! Hope you get your backside chaffing issue solved. Maybe some new skin? It is a sheet that adheres and protects from rubbing. ~Labyrinth
Despite the heat and multiple body issues, you’re really knocking out the miles and elevation gain/loss. Your “today’s high” of 89 degrees would be considered a mild day here in Dallas. I know, however, that your skin issues are mostly humidity and sweating related. Hoping you get some cool crisp low humidity days soon. How’s that left foot? Positive Vibrations
Hopefully by now, you have made it through the heat and started to heal. If the spot on your back is from rubbing, you could consider putting leukotape or moleskin on it to prevent rubbing. If it really is a heat rash, it may not help, but it is worth considering. Hope you are able to find some enjoyment during the day. Hiking is really hot weather can be a struggle. We're behind you. You can do this.
Good day despite the skin issues. You will figure it out. Doing great. Way to improvise in the heat. Rise early, enjoy the break of day and get rest early in evening. 🙏
Maybe a few layers of large patch-type bandaids on the chafed butt area may alleviate some of the rubbing from the backpack. Sounds like it's still brutally hot. Maybe a short dip in one of the streams would help cool down the body temp. The early morning hiking sounds like a good way to beat the heat. You're doing great. We're all here on YT with you, cheering you on!
I’m from Connecticut and I loved watching this video because I’ve done the hike up to St. John’s ledges and Caleb’s peak and that descent really is super steep! It’s fun though
There is one thing that I dislike through this whole trail, it's the lack of privacy in the privy , I thought it was a southern thing cause we don't have have that in PA but what you got in Connecticut is wrong at least plant some bushes around it that are evergreen, sorry if I brought up the elephant in the room but I couldn't ignore it anymore
Hang in there Jessie - you’re doing an amazing job. Thanks for sharing your journey and your humility. Will keep you in prayer .

Its a process, and it will take some time easing into it. Once it becomes a habit then you won't overthink it so much.
Nice video with some good views, so let's keep on hiking..your need the rain for water...
You are pushing through some brutal times like a CHAMP. 💪

Good morning. Great day to hike. I can't hike before dawn without 3 cups of coffee ☕

Isn’t the spicy tuna awesome? I just discovered it with a wrap. Good luck with the back region!
Who knew? To find water on the trail, all you have to do is wake up and start hiking at 3 a.m.! : ) ... You're doing great. Keep pushing north!!

Try some hydrocortisone cream for your back
Is there anyway to situate your foam knee pad between your back and backpack to keep your backpack from rubbing the same spot? Hope it’s better soon ❤
0:17 i know they put their number out for all to see on-trail, but maybe not for the internet to see?
Butt chafe? Question mark? 😅😅😅
