We are so impressed with your perseverance and humor. We’re pulling for you.
I love waking Deer up with my headlamp ! I admire yor stamina. Great hike ! Happy Trails.
The bear ain’t no fool. Love it. Summer hiking in New England is all about bugs. Mosquitoes, gnats, and deer flies. There’s always one that follows you forever. Hiking early before it warms up helps. You’re doing great dealing with tough conditions.
Great vid! Looks like you’re having fun out there in spite of the heat. Thankfully this actual week has been cooler so hopefully you’ve been enjoying that
It’s great to see you in a better mood today.
Despite all the hardships, you kept a smile on your face throughout.
I hope this means that the foot is getting better.
The bear’s like “dude, I live here, you’re in my woods”.
Also the bear is the apex predator around there, so it’s not afraid of any mere humans.
Best Of Luck
Bear in the water source. Gotta love it. He knows where his cool down is coming from.
It’s amazing how you’re putting up with these difficult days.
Bear water will be okay as long as you use a 0.2 micron filter, which most filters are. Keep smiling your doing good.
I'm a huge fan of the "sweat update situation". You're the heat advisory! Continue to wake up a lil earlier everyday and work on your 10 before 10.
The bear being in the water bothered you more than the bear there. You've lost all fear. You're gonna make it.
Bug spray baths maybe?! LOL! The bugs are always the most annoying thing to me while hiking. Have a great weekend!
Look at you being all tough towards that bear, lol. Look out Boo Boo, the Honey Bee gonna sting ya!🐝
Lots of credit to you for working through a sticky situation!
A few years ago I was researching the New England insects to see when the various types are least active to see if I could plan my hikes around those cycles. During that research I found that some of the insects that feed off humans are attracted to human perspiration. By the way, in the summer up here, there are no times that are totally insect free, but there are times that are worse than others.
Proud of your perseverance, determination and ability to keep a positive attitude through tough situations. Peace, Love and Kindness.
Oppressive heat! I dont know how you do it. I doubt I could, but I'd really enjoy providing trail magic for the hikers. I'd put out a nice spread. Glad the bear went on his way and didnt show up again. Take care and drink lots!
Lol bear water hehe!
Mmmmm.. gotta love that "bear sat water".
On a day like this I'd jump right in that creek
Bet the bear was just trying to cool off since it’s wearing a fur coat! That’s what water filters are for. 😂
Woo, don’t know if I could hike much in that heat. Welcome to New England summer!
Holy shit, i woke up in love valley to bear prrints. 5 feet from my tent .
Good video with some good views, a bear. He wanted to cool down. So let's keep on hiking..
You know you're A through hiker when you drink bear water.
bear water - 😂.
How are your feet doing?
Think I would have done like the bear - just go on down there and sit in the cool water source for a while. Ha 🐻💦
you missed the gypsy moths
Bears, dogs eh same same
Get your bear spray out
MJH, I’ve been a runner for many years and have used sweat bands all year long. They will add immensely to your hiking enjoyment.
My wife and I have been following 8 hikers/groups spread out from Connecticut to Maine and have enjoyed following you since the beginning. Good luck with the remaining part of your adventure. Bill B., Oakton, Va.
Unbearable!
