The straw that broke the camel's back for silvye being a variant is that she chose to save asgard when playing with her toys instead of ruling/destroying it.
The original inconsistency was that she was told early on that she was adopted instead of being lied to her whole life like other lokis. So she grew up not always thinking about hating/scheming against others.
I thought that maybe this Sylvie was actually meant to be Loki's counterpart or romantic partner on equal footing when the timelines merged but since the time keepers said that the events of avengers endgame were intended, that means the Thanos events had to happen.
If Loki had found love and did not grow up resenting everyone then he wouldn't have caused avengers 2012 events and lead to Thanos events.
Pruning Sylvie or any variant of loki really, would insure that Loki would be be alone always and forever forever which is what lady Sif was foreshadowing in his hell loop... Which means it's the crucial thing that Loki desperately wanted deep down all along which is to be loved, not worshipped
So that was her nexus. Loki was intended to seek for love so she was outside of her role.

I actually geeked out when I saw Sif’s hair cut, because I remembered a Norse myth of Loki cutting her hair. Thank you Marvel for getting me into Norse mythology. I have had enough Greek and Roman myths for a good amount of years.

I love how his loop wasn't getting beaten, but it was being told he will always be alone. THAT'S his punishment.
Especially now considering how season 2 ended, Loki is alone, and he always will be

Granted, these moments are diluted by the end credits scene where we see that Loki's alive (and implying that Mobius could be as well). But in the ten minutes from the time Mobius is pruned (at the 34th minute in the episode) to the start of the end credits scene (at the 44th minute), for unspoiled first time viewers, Ravonna probably became the most intensely hated character in the entire MCU. Quite an achievement.
And diluted or not, most of us probably still hate her guts.

The fact that they had child-sized jumpsuits should set of alarms.
That shot of Loki getting pruned and the camera shifting to reveal Ravonna behind him with the pose, and all of that combined with the music is one of the most legendary, chilling, and coolest moments in all of marvel.
They called ravonna so many curse words in this episode, I swear. 😂😂😂

Fun fact: loki cutting sif hair is actually a real myth in Norse mythology
Except in Norse mythology, Sif was Thor's wife, it was a plot point that her hair is golden-blond "like the fields of grain" because she's a harvest goddess, and Loki slept with her because Thor was too busy slaying giants for fun to "plow the furrow and spread his seed" (and you don't want a barren field!) and then when Sif slept cut off her golden hair until all was left was stubble (allegory to harvesting the grain with a scythe, leaving stubble fields in autumn). Then when Thor got angry, Loki went to the dwarves and talekd them into crafting a wig of spun gold for Sif, locks of living gold that would grow on her hair like real hair.
This and a new loki episode in the same day? I'm happy

But of course, it would never happen. Thanos feels too predictable to produce variants. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be the only being in the universe without a single variant.
Eh, the "Marvel's What If...?" animated MCU Multiverse episodes show Thanos does have variants, like the one in the "Party-Thor" universe where Thor was an idiot, Loki was a sassy half frost giant and king of Jotunheim and Thor's best buddy, and T'challa had been placed in Starlord's role as a child while Peter Quill worked at a diner on Earth (a timeline in which the galaxy then got consumed by Ego). As do the older Marvel comics about the TVA. Granted, in the comics, there was a whole Council of Mobiuses of multiple Mobius variants all working together. I'm still expecting that to happen in Season 2, potentially.

Seeing all the 'WHAT THE FUCK' reaction to Mobius being pruned fully vindicates my initial reaction of 'Wow, what a shame Loki only ended up with 3 episodes, what a short series.'
This is definitely my #1 favorite episode so far.
Love how the real pain of the loop prison was being told he'd always be alone
The funny part is that now we know that the timekeepers would probably get disintegrated from the inside out if they went through the robot scanner from the first episode.

I remember the first time watching this episode. I got so teary at times. First with the lake scene transition to the slow mo of them struggling from the TVA. Then when Sylvie revealing to B-15 her past, then Mobius getting pruned, and finally tears of joy when B-15 frees them.
The editing is so good. Sometimes hard to remember they are not in the same room and talking to each other.
