Great work gary ,liked this one, Cant believe you used "Ken Burns" on your pics after the Pub Cast comments on pet hates ,Dave Griff will be giving you some flack LOL .looking forward to C.
Great video! What a location that is. A Photographers paradise and the ultimate playground. Think I need to look more at light and shadow in street photography. I like what I'm getting when I go out but think I might need to look closer, some of these images are pure class. Great job👍
I have a bunch of work coming up in London, so I'll make time for a long overdue visit to the Barbican area. Fabulous work as usual and great video. Thanks Gary.
Oh yes, that’s a special place photography wise. People would be good but for me the whole architectural approach is preference, emphasising on the light and shapes etc etc. This should be a project. Anyway C….erm…. Chelsea! All the best. Nice work again Gary 👍👍
Thanks Gary. Walked past there many times from the train station to one office or other but never with the camera. Added to the list (need to live to about 3000) for next time I’m there 👏👏
Great work Gary. This used to be my work area back in the 70’s, Holborn Viaduct and the market and spent my lunch hours wondering about here. It has changed a lot since those days. Yes sunny days would have given more long shadows but you got some lovely images regardless. Thanks for sharing.
Great images mate enjoying this series really liked the last 3 images had to watch with the sound off on my phone wife had her program on TV 😂😂 still very enjoyable thanks Burt
Loving the potential of this series... being a Londoner in exile in Brum excited to see where you go. Loved the Barbican shots, spent some time there too... Great at dusk and dawn and would recommend a blue sky day too. You off to Camden, gotta be more interesting than Croyden or Chelsea, or Clapham? But what about China Town and Covent Garden Glad it's not just me that finds themselves saying wow out loud when a composition comes together...
Yep, when you get a good composition, it'd be rude not to express it 🙂 I have already done videos at Camden, Covent Garden and Chinatown, so C (which is out imminently) is somewhere different
Really enjoying this series already Gary, always wanted to go to the Barbican and spend a good hour or so shooting, preferably with nice light but like you said, we get what we get. I just don’t have enough time to go there when I do get to London, be great if I could spend a week just visiting the places I want to go, not that a week would be anywhere near enough time but I’d have a good go 🤣 Stay well
@@GaryNormanPhoto Still wouldn’t get to shoot all the areas and certain images, would need so much longer. That’s without the places you stumble across along the way
I used to hate modernist/brutalist architecture but with it being continually torn down I'm now making an effort to shoot as much of it as I can. Not particularly bothered about anybody walking through it though. Its the same with blocks of flats. Nobody ever is going to think again 'I know, lets build a tall thin structure 30 floors high out of dodgy materials and stick 300 families in it'. I guess at some point redeveloping glass and steel office buildings into 'homes' will start to happen. It would be an interesting day to photograph the Barbican but after a while I think I'd start to feel a bit 'enclosed'. They don't call them 'rat runs' for nothing.
I agree, keep light minimal, not taking up half the frame
Great location. Some good captures on a poor light day.
Thanks very much, very kind of you to say 🙂
Another good one, Gary. Letter C to come!
Letter C will be out imminently 🙂

You may have noticed that I was very quiet at that bit of the Pubcast 😂
Cracking location, like you say would be a great location when sunny
Thanks very much Gary 🙂
Brilliant video, I've been thinking of going, now I definitely am.
Might go in a few Saturdays time.
Definitely go! I would thoroughly recommend it 🙂

Thanks so much mate, if you ever get the chance I'd definitely recommend it!

By far the best street photography I have seen from you Gary.
Stunning images ans what a find.
Thanks Gary, that's really kind of you to say 🙂
Nice venue and great images - is at far to walk from the Barbican tube?
The entrance is literally across the road from the tube station 🙂
@@GaryNormanPhoto - Thanks Gary, I’ll definitely visit one day this year - cheers
Thanks Gary. Walked past there many times from the train station to one office or other but never with the camera. Added to the list (need to live to about 3000) for next time I’m there 👏👏
It's well worth bumping up your list in terms of street photography imo, as it's a fantastic place 🙂

Thanks very much Victor, I hope that it brought back some memories...

Probably better with the sound off anyway 🙂
@@GaryNormanPhoto no mate you do a brilliant job
Really enjoyed this, looks like this is a place I'll have to visit

Great shot at 05:27 👌
Have a look for Crystal Palace subway. A Victorian structure under the road t Crystal Palace Parade.
Ooh, that sounds interesting and would certainly be worth looking at on the second go around the alphabet 🙂

Very true, I'd imagine that the Barbican centre was ridiculed in the 70's and 80's and now it's looked at with affection.
Carnaby Street would be good, Gary
I did consider it, maybe I'll do it on the next go around 🙂
Was there a Maccie D's on the route?🤣
Unfortunately, no...
Camden or China town please Gary 😊😊😊
Erm... 😂 I do have older videos from there though...
@@GaryNormanPhoto what kind of excuse is that 🤪🤪 I’ll just have to make do with Canary Wharf !!! and I may take a look at the old ones 😂😂
Thought provoking but very grim - I’ve always felt it rather bleak
