Agreed. Stevie is amazing, so much so that unfortunately she overshadows the vocals from the rest of the band.... they are all spectacular harmonizers!
its like alice in chains, how Layne gets all the shine but Jerry doesnt get the praise he deserves for holding down the harmonies.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mick Fleetwood, the guy on the cover of the Rumours album, about 15, 20 years ago. I'm a court reporter in Maine, and he was one of the plaintiffs in a civil lawsuit regarding a music publishing house here in the original Portland here in Maine. It was the deposition of one of the execs of the publishing house, went from 9:00a.m. to 8:30 at night. Coming back from lunch he and I were the only two people in the room and we had a wonderful conversation. He was very engaging, and laughed quite a bit when I kept saying, say that again and really slow because of his accent. I told him I was 16 when Rumours came out, I lied to my parents, and a bunch of us went to their concert. I had such a huge contact high from that concert in Boulder, Colorado. I do wanted to ask him about all the shenanigans that went on surrounding Rumours, but I refrained. 😜

Lindsey Buckingham was in a “60 Minutes” interview with Ed Bradley. He isolated the vocal track on the lead out. That was Lindsey wailing and screaming at the end. By the time of this recording his relationship with Stevie was all but over. Lindsey admitted that his agonized screams of torment were real.

Such a great tune; the whole album is phenomenal. Rumours came out in 1977, when I was 9, and my parents and friends' parents, or older siblings owned it. By the time we became teens, this album was still hot, and we were listening to it on our own. Music from back in the day does that... it carries over and keeps going. My son is 24; he heard this CD as a little kid, because of me playing it, and he still listens to it today... as well as almost all classic rock music. What an era it was. Legendary. Timeless. Unique. It will never be replicated.

I think she's the first woman to be inducted both as a part of a band and as a solo artist (So twice). I think Aretha Franklin was the first women inducted, but not 100% sure.

The only movie I can think of with this song was The Crow: City of Angels which had a cover by Courtney Love's band Hole. It was an okay cover for what it was but it's Stevie's voice with those dang drums that make the song so eerie. I agree, Jamel, the song is definitely one of the most haunting songs I ever heard. It gave me nightmares growing up.

The studio version is good, practically ALL of the live versions are unreal good, still today, it's one of Stevie's true masterpieces and she can still do those wails, plus it's usually quite a bit extended in the live versions.

Jamel, regarding you working at The Staples Center, we have The Fox Theater in St Louis & it is a lavish place! I saw Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Little Feat & The Avett Brothers there. They have a sweet lady in the bathroom that says, "Next..." & last time I was there, me & her became friends and she was SO SWEET!! If I could be The Bathroom Lady at The Fox Theater, until I'm 90, I would die HAPPY! :) I still think of her now, knowing we can't have concerts anymore and wondering how she's doing and how she's getting by.

This comes from one of the greatest albums of the '70s. Every couple in the band was totally breaking up. Imagine spending nine months in the recording studio and Sausalito California recording and engineering this album. So many great songs, so many emotions, and somehow Lindsey Buckingham took the reins and made every song great! This album needs to be listened to front to back!
