    Thanks. I used a 9 mm socket and hammer plus Wd-40. It worked!!! I'm so happy. Going to buy gas now! I carry my bike on my semi. I use it as a parts go getter. When I have time I'm going to make a video on my channel about this too and I'll mention your channel too.

    my tank broke my key while i was getting gas and I got fired from my job for having to miss work... Thanks kawasaki lol

    Hi Joshua, Thanks for your tips and advice! I recently picked up a 1985 Kawasaki GPZ900... I believe it hadn't run for over 18 years! The key would turn the ignition switch fine... But, when I put the key in the tank...nothing it wouldn't budge...I've started to spray lube in the keyhole and around the lip of the cap to possibly have it seep down into the latches that are probably stuck as you showed us... I will be trying the tapping technique. And I have a palm orbital sounder that would send some vibration through out the cap and mechanisms...anyway thanks...!
