- (Part Two) In today's video it's my full day inside of Dollywood for opening day of the 2024 season! I enjoy riding some of my favorite coasters in the park such as Lighting Rod, Wild Eagle, Mystery Mine and my first ride on Big Bear Mountain the newest coaster at Dollywood. I also treated myself to all of the delicious food items that you absolutely cannot miss like the famous hot fresh cinnamon bread from the grist mill. Oh and I got the chance to see Dolly Parton and hear her sing! Thank you so much for watching, if you enjoyed this video please give it a big thumbs up! Dev I don’t see Dollywood working in other states. What makes that park special and gives it that charm is the location it’s in surrounded by the Smoky mountains. Also the fact that it’s near where Dolly grew up is what makes it extra special. It just wouldn’t have that same feel anywhere else.
Dolly is a treasure, and to be able to actually see her is such a memorable experience!!!
We went to Dollywood in June and LOVED it! We are Disney ppl but said multiple times during our day there, “Disney could learn a few things here.” It was such a clean, friendly, welcoming park. We also liked how, very much like Disney goers, people wear themed, specially designed shirts, and many are Bible themed. That was very refreshing. We appreciate you, Dev. You are my fav vlogger. Thank you for your passion and the way you care about people. It comes through.
There's nothing like that mountain hospitality. I was born and raised in those Smoky Mountains about 80 miles away on the NC side. I've only been to Dollywood once. It's time for another trip.
Went to Dollywood with my family for the first time last year and we are still talking about how much we loved it.

Dollywood is such a pleasure, like you said everyone is so kind! The atmosphere is just very classic and welcoming, the music that surrounds you is so nice especially when there’s live music playing - the bluegrass, folk, Americana nostalgic vibes are just such a joy! To have a theme park nestled in the middle of beautiful mountains, and Hills is just such a unique experience ♥️👏🌄🎢🎟️

I remember how once upon a time you praised Disney for all its new park openings,dining and rides…Orlando is the theme park capital, and Dollywood would work down there because the weather would keep it open longer throughout the year..beautiful American themed park, it’s so nice to have these family get togethers..

Hey, I was down the same day as you. I got to see Dolly and ride the new coaster. I wish I could have seen you and say hey. What is your favorite coaster in the park? Mine is Wild Eagle! I also have a great recipe I seen online for that bread, it’s the best!
I love Dollywood! It’s such a wonderful day for entire family. Everyone there is so amazingly friendly and kind.
I can smell that bread all the way here in middle Tennessee! It is our favorite thing at the park as well. The last time we went, we gave our children the option of riding one last ride or getting another loaf of bread and they chose the bread! Absolutely delicious!
I'm 50 now, and wooden rollercoasters are one of my most favorite things.😁
Fun fact: The walkway coming from the grist mill over to the train isn't exactly new. It used to be a cave like area you could walk through that several years ago was also a little store with mining type gems. It was actually the original entrance when the park was Silver Dollar City. 😊

Dollywood is AWESOME! I come from WVA and I miss those mountains..the last time we were at Dollywood my daughter and I rode Mine Train 8 tomes in a row..we LOVED that ride!!

I can holeheartly say that the cinnamon bread is the only reason you need to visit Dollywood. It's soo good! 😋🤤

Dev- I’m from there- my first job was Dollywood during the summer when is was 15 16 17- most of my family at some point has worked there. Just a wonderful place. Reds diner was my first job.

I feel like a huge reason you feel that magic at Dollywood that you no longer feel at Disney is because it’s not somewhere you go every week. If you go to Disney all the time and do it for work of course the magic will be lost.
No, Disney just lost its magic. They don’t care about the people in their parks anymore, it’s all about what’s in their pockets nowadays. He’s always in Universal and still feels their magic 🤷♂️

You look SO happy! I think Dollywood agrees with you! My daughter and I went to Dollywood for the first time last year, and we absolutely LOVED it. Many times we said that Dollywood is how Disney used to be. It's not a hectic rush to get a FastPass, or stand in lines all day, with way-too-happy music playing everywhere. Like you said, there are parts of Dollywood that are very quiet, very relaxing, the prices are excellent, the quality of the food is amazing, the musical shows are fantastic. I don't plan to go to Disney again anytime soon, and my daughter and I are going again in May and can't wait.
We go to Dollywood a lot. We have had season passes. We will get up on a Saturday and decide to go to Dollywood for the day. We only live an hour and half away from Dollywood. It is such a fun park. We love Big Bear and Fire Chaser. We are also Disney fans. Glad you had a great time visiting the Smokies of East Tennessee and Dollywood.
Learned a lot. Corn dogs cooked to order, for one. I was at WDW in 71 and I hope Dollywood never becomes that has become. I sense peak encroachment …. but I can’t wait to return! Great video, sir.

As many times as I've been to the Smokies, I have never been to Dollywood. Would love to go ASAP! Thanks for taking me there. The mountains have always felt like home to me. I, too, used to live in "flat" Florida, and my first trip to the Smokies was at age 17, and I fell in love! ❤
I had cinnamon bread as my birthday cake for my 30th birthday. I got both the apple butter and the frosting. ☺️

My daughter and I went to Dollywood for the first time last year, so thanks for the memories! As far as Thunderhead, it's not as bad as many of the other wooden coasters I've been on. I can't do the ones at my local amusement park, but I wanted to try Thunderhead just to say I did it once, and it wasn't nearly as bad. And as for the walkway you questioned if it was new, I can say that it was open in October of last year, because that's where we sat to eat our amazing cinnamon bread! :-)

We were there last year and they were still building big bear. Wild Eagle was my favorite though and I love the cinnamon bread.

A couple things I found funny that reminded me of our last trip there. Dolly was there the day we were there the last time we went too. And when you were saying it was supposed to rain, it was the weirdest thing the last time we were there. It rained the entire day nonstop but only a slow drip here and there. Like, we didn’t need ponchos or an umbrella. There would just be wet drops on our shirt and just enough to be annoying lol.
Then I laughed when you said why doesn’t Bob Iger ride in the parade now and then. Probably because people would pelt him with tomatoes. 🍅 😂
The roller coaster looks so fun I am 57 I would ride it
When my husband took our son on mystery mine when we went a few years back and i heard my son screaming from inside the ride and I was standing down the aisleway a little from it. 😂
Thanks for another fun video! While watching, I was thinking that next time you and Bianca go to California, you should definitely check out Magic Mountain. I’ve only been once, but it’s an amazing park. 20 roller coasters with my favorites being Twisted Colossus and X2.
Thanks for doing this video! My friends have a cabin in Pigeon Forge right there next to Dollywood and I've always wondered what it was like inside there. I have to visit! Although I don't like fast roller coasters. 👍

That bread is the goat. I go once a year and go to the local stuff between Gatlinburg and pigeon forge. That music festival normally in the spring
Dollywood is becoming the new Disney without the hype, but in a much better way Dollywood you get a better vibe.. Love the kennel corn and the cinnamon bread yummy yummy..

The path is not new by the way. It used to be a covered tunnel that you could walk through. Last year they demolished it and made it more spacious!

It's a fun and beautiful park but The Smokies are part of the charm. I don't think it would work in Orlando. ... So glad to see L'Rod running! we think that mine coaster is almost as rough as RipRideRocket. ... Big Bear us SO much fun,but our fave is the Eagle. it really is like flying

I rode thunderhead yesterday and it was surprisingly not that bad. Plus the seats and the sides of the car are extremely cushioned. Give it a shot next time you go.
