I think this will be one of the hottest cameras of the next year or so! Amazing quality, more videos coming soon
Thanks for the walkthrough. Much appreciated.
superb little tutorial. and the audio quality is brilliant.
Might have missed this but what gain level are you using?
Hi thanks for the wonderful sharing. I've like you video but I I need some help. Whenever I try to place my 32 bit audio onto the adobe premier track, I found out that the audio clip are longer compared to the original audio recorded in pocket 3. I think this issue happens because whenever I press the record button on my pocket 3, there will be a slight delay on my dji mic 2 before it starts to record. So meaning that I have to clap my hand to create a peak before I start to Vlog as the audio peak will help me to sync both the audio. May I know have you encountered this issue? Thanks
Good stuff here.
nothing shows up when i plug it into my macbook :( and i'm using the adapter that came with the DJI mic - connecting it to my USB-C adapter since the one dji comes with is USB, do you have any idea why it's not showing up for me? Thank you!
Will the DJI Pocket start the recording on the Microphone, so its synced and still record to the Microphone storage?
What is the maximum SPL of this little microphone?
Do you know what it's like to record music (concerts) on the DJI Pocket 3 (not on the Mic 2). Do you have examples you can post?
Is there a reason why they couldn't integrate the 32 bit float audio to the video?
I just checked and yes it says 32bit float for internal recording. However I pulled down volume and you can see that everything that was clipped, still stay clipped, no benefit of 32bit recovery. Maybe the cam uses a 0db hard limiter or it's not real 32bit recording
I dont found the Sound After i make the Video how i can found IT pleas?
I have a desktop with plenty of USB inputs, none of which work to transfer files from the Mic 2.
Thankfully it has one USB-C input and when I connect the Mic 2 to it, instantly the files pop up.
The Mic 2 doesn't even have to be on for this to happen.
So what if you record on your iphone? On what app can you include this 32 bit audio file? Anyone help me pls 🤓
Is it possible to use the included DJI Mic 2 and simultaneously record the sound of a microphone connected to the USB port on the free channel?
And is it possible to use a USB to 3.5mm jack adapter to connect headphones for sound control?
Of course, it would be even more awesome if you could pair your AirPods or similar Bluetooth headphones with the Pocket 3 for sound control and possibly commentary on the free track (when the DJI Mic 2 is connected).
With the GoPro Hero 12, you can at least record an additional commentary track this way. Info on whether you can also control the sound, I have unfortunately not yet found in any video.
When plugging in a USB mic, it will only operate one or the other. It prioritizes the DJI mic when both are plugged in. When the DJI mic is shut off/ disconnects, it switches to USB.
Does it have voice activated recording, or do you start recording via the app if you are using a tripod and standing away from the pocket ?
You can press the link button on the mic to start recording on the pocket 3 👍
@Zander That is amazing that we get this feature. Thanks for showing the how-to. Different topic, but how about a how-to with the video timecode sync between the P3 & A4. Another professional feature that we ‘just get’.
I was wondering this also. How do you sync the video and the audio ?
I’ll make a follow up
Can you buy just the mics on their own? I can't seem to find it. I have the Dji wireless mic 1. and 32 bit float would be amazing!
Not available yet, coming soon apparently
does the pocket 3 and the separate recording use timecode for easy syncing?
Yes Paul it has timecode features and internal recording, it really is fantastic, the only downside for you is that it isn’t weather proof
that's brilliant. thank you @@ZanderRound
You can also sync via Waveform without any problems, since the Pocket 3 records the sound directly in the camera anyway.
I was wondering about this ! I just ordered the creators kit and now I'm even more excited.
I use my GoPro hero 11 for vlogging, running videos. The issue is you need good light, and color grading in resolve isn't easy.
With DLog on the P3 and low light performance, I'm very excited.
Really?@@ZanderRound Other people are reporting that the camera's timecode isn't synced to the Mic 2's audio file, so you can't use the timecode to sync video and audio. Which would be a massive fail if true. I'm sure that's what @PaulMessner meant. Did you try this?
Thanks,
Question please - is the Mic 2 unit stereo when using it with the Pocket 3 and stand alone, or does it just record in mono (which would be crazy if it has all that tech in anyhow!)?
Thanks and great video.
PS - hope the flu's better.
If you're asking does both the unit and dji mic 2 work simultaneously for stereo (like the Rode ME), the answer is no. I imagine it could possibly with a firmware update, but I assume they want to sell additional mic units and doing so would be a conflict of interest.
No stereo, using with osmo pocket 3 is only mono and i need to duplicate the audio in davinci resolve to L
and R channel.
@@kelvinzytengmany thanks. That's what I was wondering.
@@nolepholife2843I guess now with the firmware update it records both in Unit and in Mic 2 and saves them as separate .wav format files
If you get two Mic 2 and connect to DJI Pocket 3, you'll get Stereo. One Mic2 gives only Mono - one channel.
So I’m a little confused. When you’re recording with the pocket 3 and Wireless Mic 2 will the 32 bit audio automatically be included in the video? Or do you have to add the 32 bit audio later in post?
I had this same question plus if its separate file how to go about syncing it to your vid files. For me its all probably too much of a faff
I have the pocket 3 and mic 2. Once you turn on the mic 2 then turn on the pocket 3, the mic auto syncs with the camera. Audio files are then copied to the video files without having to sync them. You can use the mic 2 as a stand alone recorder device or record the audio/video simultaneously and record a back up file saved to the device alongside the audio video you recorded as a safe measure.
you need to add the internal recording with 32 bit float manually and sync it with video
Can you use the recorder alone without turning on the pocket 3?
Yes the mic has internal recording
Anyone know how much internal storage memory does the DJI Mic 2 have to record 32 Bit Float? Edited: Actually i think i see the capacity at 0:41 as 11.2h. Using an approximation of 1GB=1.25h of audio i would guess it has about 9GB of memory.
7GB I think.
This vid should do well for ya!
the mic doesn't record 32bit by default out the box on its own. it needs to activated from the receiver or a dji product like pocket 3 and action 4. same with noise cancelling. so as default it is 24bit. Also 32bit doesn't influence levels of sound it just gives a lot more headroom for your audio not to clip or distort at loud volumes and allows you to raise low audio audio signals up without raising the noise floor ie hiss, background noise etc. 32bit offers cleaner sound making it sound like its controlling volume but its just a cleaner signal.
Another great watch
I like the new Design of the DJI MIC 2. But the new MIC 2 looks glossy and this can become a problem while shooting outdoors . Does it reflect much as a RODE Wireless Pro mic which is very glossy?
Can you use the mic alone without turning on the camera, without connecting to the camera?
I dont think it has an internal memory to record audio to use it alone
@@stilmotionpicturedid you saw the video? It has
yes, after turning on the mic, it operates as a recorder. According to another youtube video, it records in 30 min increments.
Have you tried connecting the mic via bluetooth to your phone?
Not yet, ill test it out 👍
It connects straight away but the phone doesn’t use the audio from the mic for some reason, as you cannot select the audio source on the iPhone I don’t think there is a way you can do it!
@@ZanderRoundthere are apps to select a sound source
2:25 no it doesn't. I recorded on this Mic2 audio in 32 bit floating with loud music and sound went grunting even with Mic Gain =0. The only thing that kept controlling overloads was a built in Pocket 3 Mic. studio.ua-cam.com/users/videopEKjQTVX4fQ/edit
Will not work with Shure MVL Lav which was one of the best Lavs, cant find any information why Mic 2 doesnt as have the Mic 1 which supports and works great, looks like a converter from TRRS to TRS required for Mic 2
No it isn’t, you have to turn it on.
Damn bro, the iPhone 15 Pro Max sound and look better than the camera 😮
The mic 2 sounds soft and damped. You need to turn the volume up because its too soft 🤷🏼 pretty disappointing
Really? I think it sounds super clean and rich. I did have the flu at the time and sure you can change the gain if you see fit, but I’ll be buying the full dji mics 2’s when they are released
agree with you! for my ears, it sounds not clear, especially, when you change to the internal mics. maybe, DJI will give us a setting to increase clarity
There are plenty of options within the camera to adjust the mic sound to your liking, I’ll be covering more on this soon.
I tried the whole weekend around with the mic and compare it to other ones i got and for me its not worth it to buy the creator combo.i will send it back and buy just the pocket 3. Just my personal opinion but the camera is still amazing 😊
Agreed.
You plug it in and it shows up as USB drive could it be literally a 10 second video.
Im thrilled by the Mic 2’s ability to record internally. However when I tested it recently all the WAV files are zero bytes. Its works normally as a wireless mic to the Pocket 3 with clear audio recorded into the video. Could my mic be a faulty unit?
Great review. But 32bit float doesn't manage the level, it just gives you heaps more dynamic range.
Exactly, I agree.
Hi...I am having Dji Mic connection issue green light blinks but own't turn to blue light for correct proper connection. Tried several times no luck,is there how to reset the dji mic? Thx.
If noise cancelation is on is the file internal still 32bit float and does what does saftey enabled mean ? Mine is set auto record, auto lock, auto off,32bit,camera panisonic, and low cut, noise cancellation,im pretty sure in post i was able to raise the gains and got red in waveform that pops. Live event in small room. Karate. Mic is just sitting on cam. What am i doing wrong?Thank You
