- Hurricane Beryl remains a Category 4 hurricane as it approaches Jamaica today. It will then continue on a westward path until reaching the Yucatán Peninsula this Friday. The circulation center is projected to enter eastern Quintana Roo and move over Campeche and Yucatán.
In the long term, there is great uncertainty about whether it will move towards Tamaulipas or Texas.
Carriacou is completely destroyed. It looks like a post-nuclear landscape. Most properties have lost their roofs. There is debris everywhere. All green vegetation is completely gone. There is no power, or communications. The people only have limited food & fresh water supplies. Assessment of immediate & long-term relief is needed without delay. Jamaica, take deep cover. Cat 4 is no joke !!
