Hell yeah.. nice vehicle.. they should have been making these years ago.. going to sell a lot of these.. all the truck 80% of people need.. no overkill
I got my 2007 edition a month after they came out and loved it. I'm on my second one (first was in an accident but was still mechanically in great condition at 173k miles.
I've had my Ridgeline two months now. One trim level below the Black Edition. LOVE IT. I spent 15 years in a full sized Chevy Avalnche. This is a nice mid-sized quad cab truck that rides more like a car.
FUNKYOLOGY I got mine a month ago and I purchased a RTL-T which doesn’t have the 560 watt stereo but instead a 260 watt stereo. Plenty of power and yes it still has the subwoofer which is hidden behind the passenger side rear seat. The RTL-T doesn’t have as listed: inverters in the cab or bed, lane assist and adaptive cruise, blind spot alert, or memory seats and also doesn’t have led low beam head lights.. However since my truck don’t have blond spot alert it does come with a right side camera that’s mount on the right mirror so when you turn the right turn signal on it will show the right side of truck on the touch screen radio. Now all that mention the RTL-E has everything you can think of except the right camera on mirror because it has the blond spot alert. It’s really a trade off. Now.. My RTL-T has everything else that I need as listed: Halogen head lamps high and low beam (I upgraded them both with H9 and H11 LED lights) has right side camera, heated seats, Cruise control (non-adaptive) 260 watt stereo included subwoofer, sunroof, automatic back sliding window, automatic driver and passenger seats, remote start, car play and android auto, Honda maps but also uses waze, google and Apple maps, Bluetooth for handsfree calls and play music. Now I listed all that I will say the truck was 36,599 at a small town dealership in NC. However I added a foldable bed cover, roof rack and mud flaps. That bumped the price to 38,999. Oh I forgot to add I do have the AWD version. Best wishes and good luck. I upgraded from a 2014 ram 1500 with the hemi.
It took almost three months for my new 2020 Black Edition to become available for but it was worth the wait. It is a beautiful vehicle. A perfect truck for the average homeowner who is not into construction or a farmer. The dealership told me I was the first person in Michigan to receive one.
I know this is an old walkthrough/review (by car/truck standards) but it's one of the best I have seen. Very thorough. No where near your dealership but if I was I'd purchase one of these trucks from you. Great job!
We have 2 Black Edition Ridgelines I fell in love with Len's Ridgeline and he hardly got to drive it ,I felt bad for him so I traded in my CRV EX and bought my own Black Edition Ridgeline we have been Honda customers for 17 years . The neighbors say we have the best looking driveway in the community . Thank you Honda for all that you do . This one of the Best review video's only to one other review video I have watched very informative and helpful I actually would put this video first on my list great job! .
I test drove a Black and was surprised by the radar protection safety technology put in this vehicle . Making a deal one today . The most bells and whistles you could imagine for a midsize truck .
@@frankie7275 But Honda Pilot, which has the same platform as Ridgeline peformed off road better than the new ford expedition( body on frame truck) with FX package and locking central diff. Which is based on ford F150 platform. Watch TFLcar Gold Mine Hill on youtube.
Love these trucks! My dad drives a White 2017 Ridgeline RTL-T that he bought new last year & he loves it very much. The ride & handling are amazing & overall a huge improvement from his previous 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac which he bought new way back in 2003 with over 300k miles on it with very few problems. If I bought a Ridgeline I would totally go for the Black Edition, partly cause it's similar to my 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 cause it's black on black with the red stitching & love that combo very much.
Excellent review, thank you.I like that you have the option to turn off some of the systems if you choose not to use them. The only thing I really don’t like is cylinder deactivation.I’ve read some blogs regarding this on the Silverado pickup which cited everything from excessive oil consumption to catastrophic engine failure related to their engine management system.Have to think about that one.

I like the truck ( I own a Blackcherry 2008 Ridgeline ) but l don't like the look of the front end . Put the new Pilot Passport front end on It , along with a 1 1/2" leveling kit and larger tires. Those improvements would persuade me to buy the redesigned Honda Ridgeline. What improvements are 1st Gen Honda Ridgeline owners looking for with the 2nd Gen model ?
Great review. I was thinking of getting a Honda Passport but now that I have seen the Ridgeline it looks awesome. Only thing is the price is really high.
My black edition is tri zone heating. You mentioned 2 zones ? But the rear passengers can control their own temps or you can from the front as well. Mine also has heated wipers, heated wiper fluid and heated steering wheel but then again I’m in Canada.
Thanks for watching! Yes as you can see, this one has the vents in the backseat but there are not controls. Canadian models can vary greatly from the U.S. models!
180 or 280 hp? Lol jk. Great review. Thanks for explaining all the technicalities. If this came with more ground clearance I would consider it. Living in the mountains, ground clearance is king when considering a truck.
Damn it, he had me sold until he said 185 horsepower. That's a NO NO for a pick up. I'm trading in my 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited for a pick up but I don't want to lose 55 HP doing it. Man, I was so excited too. Dang, the search continues. Great video tho
Hi! We apologize, Justin seems to have misspoken. The 2019 Ridgeline actually produces 280 HP! You can see all specs here: hondanews.com/honda-automobiles/channels/ridgeline-specs-features/releases/2019-rideline-specifications-features
Honda Ridgeline's Earth Dream 3.5 L , V6 engine is now Direct Injection. I heard that (port) Direct Injection engines suffer from excessive carbon build up on the backside of valves and valve stems . Other than installing a " Catch Can " does anyone know how Honda plans to address this issue ? Does Honda recommend having having the Dealership service this engine at certain mileage intervals ? Thank you.
If this is port injection and direct injection there is no carbon build up. Port injection mitigates the normal carbon build up from direct injection only engines.
Black edition chrome on the front I still want a Ridgeline though, prolly in white. my SI is black and I regret not getting the white one. the only thing holding me back is i have 3 kids and for that price i can afford a roomier full size

Will Honda Offer . HD Surround Vision ? I currently have that and won't consider buying another car without it. Also I have the Rear View Camera Mirror that gives me a better wide angle view while driving ..... Will that be offered in the future. GM and Toyota offer both . Any chance they'll offer a Hybrid or Plug-in addition ?
I wish they made this truck tougher looking. Needs a nicer at tire and a lift. Maybe 2”. I own a 2016 Colorado and trust me I’m not hating on this truck. It just looks to much like a chopped off pilot. I’m sure it rides nice though
It rides like a well-sorted car imho, like an Accord if I had to imagine. I can say for certain that it rides much better/smoother than a 7 year old Lincoln Navigator and any Toyota 4runner of any year lol. Now, it doesn't ride quite like a late 90's BMW 750 but then again a person might actually fall asleep at every stop if it were 🤣
You drove your car 4 times in 34 years.??!! Out of that 4 times you needed to access your spare 1 (one) time.?
