She's a Cafeteria Christian, she picked out what she liked and threw away the teachings that were inconvenient and made her feel uncomfortable. I mean how can you call yourself a Christian but yet in the same breath say that you don't believe everything in the Bible. Clearly as of right now she doesn't believe God's word and i pray one day she does.

The whole encounter there should have been done differently. It was not begun with the premise of what was done. I agree with Michael's points, but the circumstances in which it was delivered should have been personal and charitable rather than blasted publicly.

Any Christian who says “I’m not struggling” is eaither lying or doesn’t understand their faith at all. Paul struggled. Peter fell short. Thomas doubted. The list goes on and on. The message is that we are all fallen creatures trying to get as close as we can to who and what God made us to be. If we aren’t struggling then why do we need Jesus? The young lady is obviously a narcissist who doesn’t believe in objective good and evil outside of her own subjective desires. I certainly hope for her sake and the sake of those who love her that Jesus opens her eyes before it’s to late.
Thank you for this. Was trying to explain this concept to a pharisee type Christian who contended that you couldn't be struggling and still be saved. Saying that you are a new creature. Told him yes, new, but not perfect. New in that you now desire to subject your flesh, thoughts and deeds to God's will instead of your own. You, the spirit inside the body, but because of the fallen world we live in your flesh and thoughts will sometimes be the hardest battle you fight.
Indeed. The devil is like a roaring lion. Always prowling looking for someone to devour. C.S.Lewis does a great job of explaining this in The Screwtape Letters. As Christians we should always be examining our thoughts, actions and attitudes, measuring them against God’s word. Pride can be especially dangerous for the saved. Remember, pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. I am often grateful that there are particular sins I don’t struggle with, but that doesn’t mean I don’t struggle with other sins. This is why we pray for our enemies. It’s not that we excuse their sins. We just acknowledge that we don’t have the authority to judge them simply because they sin differently than we do. We pray for God to deliver them from their sin just as we pray that he deliver us from ours. The lord said his yoke is easy and his burden is light. He never said there was zero yoke or burden.

If she is not struggling with sin then she is a part of this world and she is indulging in that sin. You cannot serve two masters.
This is so true. When you give your life to God it's a daily struggle. You're tempted and attacked daily. It's not an easy path to take which is why so many people in society avoid it. I'm on my journey now and it's been the most difficult thing I have ever had to do.

The Bible NEVER says that you shouldn't judge. The Bible states that you shouldn't judge hypocritically. Basically, READ THE WHOLE CHAPTER! First remove the beam from your own eye and you'll be able to remove the speck in your brother's eye. So, if you are leading a life focused on Godliness & seeking God daily, you could righteously judge another person. In fact, we are called to judge on a daily basis by not allowing ourselves to become of this world. How would you know what is and is not of this world if you didn't judge with righteousness?

Right! This is such a hard thing to get people to understand. The same people that say we shouldn't judge, judge also. They just don't want their sin being judged because they like it.

Things like this are easier to judge without being a hypocrite on this particular matter, but many judge on things they can't possibly know enough detail about.
An example is I often see Christians say someone is demon possessed because they'll avoid eye contact or not behave "normally."

We aren't supposed to judge a person's heart but we are supposed to judge actions. The notion that Christians shouldn't judge is always used in the wrong way.
True. But the actions are evidence of where someone’s heart is. And we should point them to their actions in order for them to hopefully examine their own heart and see if they are truly in the faith.
I think you were close here but actions reveal where you heart is. By their fruits you shall know them. We aren't supposed to judge in the sense of telling people if they're going to hell or not. Telling people they're in danger of hell fire is different then telling them they ARE going to hell, that judgement belongs to God alone.
You can only judge another Christian when you yourself aren’t guilty of the same issue

Excellent point. I'm blessed to have a church where that is the goal. I've been with Christ for a little over a year, and am being discipled and my Discipiler told me she's waiting for me to get versed in more scripture, but if I was she'd have someone for me. And I'm working on the scripture part!!

I actually have a lot of sympathy for ppl like her bc I know it’s super common in my generation to the point where it’s almost the cool thing to do now. I think you are absolutely right-she needs some people who can help her learn and encourage her. I think part of her knows what she is doing is wrong, but she has also been told there is absolutely nothing wrong with s*x work as a basic fact. She doesn’t want to lose the money and mentioned she “came from nothing.” I believe she is struggling but trying not to acknowledge it. I pray she will take that next step with the strength of Christ

I think she doesn’t understand what “sexual immorality” is defined as in the Bible and today. The world tells us consent is good, non consent is bad but there’s a lot more to it than that.
Pray for that young lady she's deceived deeply confused and causing great harm by professing faith while in this wretched state. I'm a father and if she were to cause my daughter to sin with her example I'd be very hurt and furious at the whole thing like these are people's eternal souls on the line we can't be playing these games with God.

I'm surprised nobody brought up the testimonies of former porn actors who became solid Christians. They could have spoken to this young girl from an insider's perspective just how damaging sin is.

She is just calling herself a Christian because it makes her feel good. This is also why she keeps saying she's not struggling, because she doesn't realise she is a living contradiction. Hopefully one day she actually reads the Bible and I'm sure everything will become clear for her.

Because there are people out there who KNOW Him more than you do or think you do. You are accountable only to God , not to mom or dad; not to siblings or family relatives, not to your friends, not to your church or pastor or priest, not to your boss or government… you are only accountable to God, and He gave the salvation keys to Christ alone
I mean it’s simple. I wish he would’ve used this line of thought and he hinted to it a little bit in part. What if I have a porn addiction, get baptized, pray everyday and believe in God, but continue with my addiction, then I am still battling with giving up that sin. If she were to say well I’m not making them watch it a counter would be “but you are causing them to stumble which is a sin”. And when she says prostitutes aren’t doing anything wrong, the women caught in adultery was told sin no more, what makes somebody thing God would view making porn as permissible but not adultery?

People are going to believe anything that justifies them because real belief requires sacrifice and accountability which is not attractive to our egos.
I feel for this girl. She is a newborn Christian and obviously doesn’t fully understand her own responsibility to follow Christ. What she needs is Discipleship! She definitely had a heart change. She needs to be loved into deepening her relationship with Jesus so that He moves her heart to change and let go of things He wants her to let go of. Sometimes He starts with Grace and then moves into the refining our lives.

When she said she believes in God, they should’ve just asked what she knows about Him and how she learned that information. That would’ve cut out a lot of the confusion from jump.

I think a part of the problem is that people too often see “money” as the blessing. Yes financial freedom can be a blessing so long as it comes from following Gods law. I can see clearly that she fell for satans lie. Her work itself is sinful but since her work comes with a life saving salary, she is blessed by God.
