I saw his performance in Sherman, NY last night (3 September 2022) -- and this was his opening number. Pokey LaFarge and his band blew the crowd away, to the surprise of many -- the music festival has a bit of a stoner/'jam band' vibe, and many guests cleared-out after the preceding band but the MC/host was truly excited to hear Pokey again, and those in the crowd who were familiar with Pokey LaFarge were equally amped-up. And then there was 90 minutes of their amazing set -- far too many in the crowd weren't previously aware of Pokey's music but the near-universal response for them was wondering why they hadn't! Not having seen him perform live, before, I was genuinely impressed with his guitar skills -- most of his online performances have a larger backing band, with multiple guitars -- but Mr LaFarge was the only guitarist, and all that sound came solely from one guitar at a time. Not being a guitarist, myself, I haven't the jargon to describe what he did. But his dexterity and mechanical intricacy of playing was evident -- even moreso as he moved and danced while playing. I'm a bum with no musical skills, and I rarely get enthusiastic about hearing live music. But Understanding Spouse and I had a chance to speak with him and had our picture taken with him as he wandered the campgrounds before his set. Even Bums get lucky sometimes.
I couldn't make Sherman but am moving heaven and earth to catch him in Brooklyn, and now thanks to your write-up I am truly psyched, If there were any justice in this world, this man should be facing down an army of Grammies, but by converting one crowd at a time at each concert he is definitely bringing some much needed joy to this troubled planet.

A bit more poppy than I've come to expect...but don't get me wrong. I LOVE good, smart, well-done pop music. This falls in all those categories! A wonderful video to top it off. FANTASTIC!

If this is the 1st ,you are going to be pleasantly surprised, so much talent, his entire team, and artist collaborations, best of the best want to work with this guy, and he plays 50 to 200 peeps seen him in an open field, of an apprx 4-5 a week schedule maybe 75 people Muncie Indiana, 30 of which were children!! Did he schedule that site again??? Hell yeah he did!!!!!
I heard this song barely coming in on the radio thinking you saying, "get the fuck on." figured out the real words before the end but still an amazing song. So glad I doubled down on my google search to find you. So many great songs in a classic sound. You can fall in love with a genre of music a think it's this set catalog from an era gone, but then to have someone bring it back with such talent and skill it's...wordless, I love it, can't stop listening.
