Heimberg is the first municipality in the Aare valley to belong to the Bernese Oberland.
Thanks to the unique location, a view of the Prealps and the Alps is possible. To the east, Heimberg borders on the hilly landscape of the Emmental, to the west and north on the Mittelland.
There is a well-developed infrastructure with indoor swimming pool, mini golf and sauna, the sports center with indoor tennis courts, squash and outdoor tennis courts, shopping centers (Coop Megastore + Hobby, Multicenter, Lädelizentrum and Niesenpark) and various school facilities. Heimberg is an open-minded, modern agglomeration community with a good 7,000 residents.
The Bernese Oberland and the centers of Bern, Thun and Burgdorf are easily accessible by public or private transport (regional transport Mittelland (RM) / motorway connection). The main regional traffic is handled via the two intersecting state roads, Bernstrasse (Bern-Thun) and Gurnigelstrasse (Gürbetal - Autobahn junction A6 - Schallenberg). Around 40 clubs take part in active club life in Heimberg.
