Wonderful! I have ridden the Niesenbahn many times. When my wife’s parents were still living, they had a house on the opposite side of the valley in Scharnachtal. When we visited, having Niesen as an everyday view was amazing. Oh the memories. ♥️♥️🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭
Fantastic. Going uphill reminded me of an alpine roller coaster, but this one kept going up and up. Those views at the point were staggering. The views coming down were amazing. Thanks for showing me a part of the world that I will never experience in real life.
You are a better person than I. I got woozy just watching you walk along those walkways with no guard rails. Excellent video and I agree that Switzerland is a most beautiful country.
For anyone wondering about the switches: Furnicular carriages have flanges on both sides of the wheels on one side of the carriage. If it's the left wheels, these will always follow the left track -- the wheels on the other side are broad and flat without flanges, so these don't catch on anything and don't sink into the rail gaps of the switch like a normal train wheel would. Very clever!
704 / 5.000 Truly a beautiful cogwheel line! A spectacular funicular, whose view at the top makes it all worth it! you can see Interlaken, the Simmental, and Lake Thun with the Castle, you can see all of Alpine Switzerland in a nutshell! An immense job for whoever designed the line, an immense job for Lorirocks777 who filmed this splendid panorama, also giving us some ironic streaks in the captions! :)))) Let's wait for some work maybe in Italy. If I can recommend a nice line, I recommend the Pustertal Railway, from Lienz to Fortezza, which runs through lush mountains, woods and lakes in a panorama of immeasurable beauty. You and Paolo think about it! Have a nice weekend!
Thanks! I'm currently deciding whether to 'do' Pilatus or Niesen (I'll only have time for one on this trip). Viewing UA-cam videos is immensely helpful!
Once again a big thank you for sharing this beautiful ride. I used to go to Switzerland on holiday through the 1990's-early 2000's, And I stayed in Interlaken many times, but I never went to the Niesen. On one occasion, I went to a mountain hotel which was Muottas Muragl (near St, Moritz) Though the weatherwas not very good, I enjoyed my short stay there. The view towards St, Moritz is epic.
A different view today, for sure !! And not signal in sight, only height markers, interesting to see how the trains and wires keep to their respective sides, learnt something new !!! 🤓 Great views from the top, you picked a good day to ascend the mountain 😎😎😎
Spectacular scenery. Also amazing engineering. Not only of the railway, but also those clever "switches" with no moving parts, and these pulleys that take the cable around curves. Thanks. What were the loud bangs heard during part of the journey?
Fun fact: There is a stairway following the whole track, in fact longest stairway in the world. 11'674 steps, 1'669m height difference. There is an anual stairway-run, called Niesenlauf. Record is 0:55:55,70 h. 😬 No way I would survive this run 😂 Edit: Im so dumb 🤣, I was so excited to see this video, that I placed a coment before even watching. You placed all the information in the video 👍❤
Fun fact ; once a year they have the “Niesen-Treppenlauf” - The Niesen Stairs Run - a competition for stairclimbers ! 3,5 km/ 2,17 ml in length - 1643 m/5390ft up the mountain on 11’674 steps….😓
How the hell do points junctions work? At the moment of passing, they look like they're upside-down. And how come the wheels don't step on the traction cable of the other car? They are still at the same level, the wheels have to press down on them!
I had to skip the stuff from the top of the mountain. I know it’s a video but my stomach was going funny seeing those heights, especially the bits with no railings 🤢🥴
I smashed the mouse button as soon as I saw that thumbnail.
Ah, Switzerland, what a lovely country.
Thanks 😁

Efficient cable car transportation system and pleasant natural scenery. Thank you.
What a great trip, and the genius funicular system was fascinating. Thanks, lorirocks 777.
Thanks for sharing your trip up the mountain. The views from the top are simply amazing. I'd never want to leave. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Thanks for your comment, glad you enjoyed it!

Another beautiful video :) I would love to see this same route in the snow!
Bravo pour ces merveilleuses images 👍😊

Phenomenal content, as always. Very jealous of your scenery views. Cheers from the USA.
Thank you. Pike's peak isn't bad either, although when I was there, the railway was closed 😅

What were the loud bangs heard during part of the journey?
The bangs might have been gaps. The switching is probably done via double flanged wheel on the outside rail.
Nice!
Großes Kino 😊

Well this is fun! Although I'd be terrified on the top of there in person 😨

That tunnel is scary
Very beautiful ride. Unfortunately all the conversations in the cabin detract from the immersion. What a pity!
Yes. I couldn't do much about those unfortunately. Whenever the weather is good, people flock there.

What do maintenance workers do when they need to work on the track? Do they have to go up the stairs? 😰
They probably ride the train.
What language were they speaking?
Swiss German

Well thanks for the info------ i had never heard of funiculars before!!!!!!!!!!
So you are not aware of sarcasm?
WOW 🔱🏳🌈
the train Malaysia for Pinang hill, train ceble car
imagine, jus for a second that cable snap haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarg.
It's never happened, but there are emergency brakes.

😅 Sorry about that
Spectacular ride up and down this two-part funicular, but the view at the top at Niesen peak is not recommended if you're acrophobic...
NO SPEED TRAIN!!!!
Imagine cable snapped & you’re riding this down the mountain really fast aweeeee😅 but terrible
Hehe.. yes. Although in that case, there are emergency brakes.
Too much talking noise.
So much blabbering in the cabin...
Good views but I think I would have had the driver let me off after 5 minutes so I could walk back down. Too loud.
It's great to be back in "SWITZERLAND GODS COUNTRY"🦘👍👍👍👍💯🍺🍺🍺
