I'm 73 years old and grew up listening to all the doo wop groups of that era . And hands down and no comparison ... Jimmy was the best . A great voice and a great stage presence . Since I Don't Have You and This i Swear we're Gold standards that were impossible to surpass when speaking of the romantic sentiment that it left in our hearts and minds as teenagers growing up and falling in love . Even yet to this day when I hear those two songs previously mentioned it takes me right back to those special years and special feelings that can never be forgotten . Thank you Jimmy for all those years you gave us with that unique and one of a kind beautiful voice that can never be duplicated . Rest in peace and God bless you always .

Oh, If I only could go back and relive those days! Nothing brings me back to those times but listening to these songs, it all comes back. Will never forget those great times and feelings. Slow dancing, drive in movies.... crusing down main street with out a care in the world with my girl by my side. My younger friends will never understand what a great time it was.......
I was a love struck teenager in 1959 when this great group came on the scene…teen clubs were the thing of nobody had access to wheels…I always loved to dance and there plenty of girls who, luckily for me, loved to dance, and ironically they were 3-4 years older , like T.D. Magee, Joanie Meyer, Mary Graves who I reconnected with in 1962 when I was a Buckeye @ OSU..,.thanks to the marvels of technology, all those magical moments are just a keyboard touch away….it gives me a deeper more mellow sensation now, some 50 years later, and I still love to dance….sadly a lot of the girl friends of long ago, are now long gone….maybe in the next life we’ll reconnect with the great “big bands” in outdoor supper clubs and Harry James, the Dorsey Brothers, Guy Lombardo will help us to make old dreams new again….
Love all the songs . His voice was amazing. So many great songs from the skyliners. This music era will outlive us all. Rip, hope you and Jonny maestro keep on singing with the angels.
Went to Carrick High school with Jimmy and Joe V in 1956-58. It still brings actual tears to my eyes as I listen to this wondrous voice. See you in Heaven Jimmy.
I am now 76. But in September of 1959 I was 11. I remember Jimmy Beaumont & " Since I don't have you" plus "This I swear" 2 of my favorite songs from that era and later as I grew up I played the Tennor Sax and eventually sang & fronted my own group and Jimmy Beaumont had a profound influence on me. Thank you for the trip down memory lane.
How could there be 19 thumbs down...how could there even be 1 ? Beautiful tribute. Jimmy's songs are his tribute. Nothing but love and respect should be shown to this legendary performer and his career.
Jimmy is a man along with the skyliners who represented the best of not only doo wop but music in all its beauty. Imagine still getting chills 50 years later listening to his music .Its sad in my opinion that todays artists get tons of money with music that has no lasting power. There isnt a band or singer in probably the last 20 to 30 years that could put out a true greatest hits album.Back when it was routine with all the great songs artists recorded. You will be missed Jimmy.
Saw the Skyliners at a local dance in Bellevue, PA. One of my most favorite groups of all time. I love all of their songs. Rest in Peace, Jimmy Beaumont.
My wife and I got to see Jimmy Beaumont and the rest of the Skyliners at an oldies revival at Madison Square Garden revival in 1970. Janet Vogel was great as was the whole group. The group is my favorite of all the groups ever. A pure delight to listen to over and over.
I'm so glad that I've been around for this era of great music and singing groups, having a friend in a group that gave me the opportunity to hear these songs over and over
I remember this song when I was a kid, back in the days when we would listen to soul music, but while cruising the dial on the AM radio I heard the doo wop songs from the pioneers, and they played Black and White crooners. I started going backwards towards the thirties, and found that truly good crooners could sing acapella and produce sounds of beauty thousands of times better than many mediocre singers that we have today. The smooth operettic voices in harmony and high notes made by the Skyliners was no joke, it was no one man show, but A GROUP of finely tuned masters at play. As far as Beaumont goes, truly he sang from the soul, best in class.
There is no group better at harmonies, and at hitting the high notes, than the Skyliners. Pittsburgh born and bred. They are 50's music at it's very, very best. Listen to them... you will not disagree.
The Skyliners is one of my favorite all time singing groups. Theire harmony is so tight and rhe timing spectacular. Thank you all for your inspiation. Peace and love!!!
The song “Since I Don’t Have You” to me is a timeless classic that is still great to hear now and as I loved hearing it in 1959. I’m glad that I was able to interact and photograph Jimmy Beaumont quite a few times. Many thanks for putting this UA-cam video together, and also for the other UA-cam video about Joe Rock. Great music history that I absolutely love hearing, and learning about. This was the great music that I grew up to.
Jimmy's voice control is mind-blowing! I do all I can to duplicate the riffs on This I Swear...and I fall short every single time! WOW, Jimmy was one of the greatest voices I have ever heard.
Jimmy, this is my gonna get drunk lost my girlfriend song. 50 years later I'm sober as a judge enjoying lisiting to this song. It never gets old. RIP Jimmy.
How sad to see our ancient singers,For me i cant like now musics ,I even dont listen at them,But old singers break my heart,,I would like to get back in the past and those singers return to life I cant explain how my heart cries now
An old girlfriend of mine from Pittsburgh told me a Jimmy Beaumont story. Her brother was best friend's with Jimmy. On Patty's 16th birthday he arranged for Jimmy to go to her house and sing Happy Birthday to her. Since that day, she has played Skyliners music every morning while getting dressed.

UGH, we have lived in such a fantastic era. So much to be thankful for. Music, for me, has always been the medicine needed for hurt, aches and pain. No misspellings there. So, having said that, let me add; "music of the last 70 years, (disregarding music of the last 20 years from all genres), has been great. Some of them are bombs. We know who they are. Anyway, I'd like to leave this planet, one day, knowing that music was great during my earlier years and hope it can heal itself for the future because todays tunes truly do suck. GPM-53.
