She is working with composers that does the cover arrangements. She might contribute with ideas but the credit for Arirang Alone arrangement (and lean on me and other cover songs) goes to Hwang Seong-je 황성제 among others. This doesn't make her less of a performer or an artist, but she didn't do arrangements on those songs.

However when you work on an arrangements You are generally given a direction on a style , Cadence, etc then the artist will give their interpretation of that suggestion or guidance and they will make adjustments to suit their voice and conviction, her stamp is also on these arrangements! Also the conductor and soloist, may also have ideas ,that are incorporated into the Performance! She has gotten help from many people through her career! In her lectures she not only teach voice but a lot is on Performance! Great Performers most often have great support! That original performance of hers would be extremely hard to duplicate, she could duplicate the vocals but, the supporting singers, orchestra, conductor, soloist musicians , lighting sound, mixing board,,and even costuming were all Magnificent in that Performance to come about as close as possible to a Perfect Performance:-)

This is from a show Begin Again. It is a busking show where famous/popular singers and musicians get together and travel around the world busking. Sohyang joined the show at Season 4 from ep 6 to 10. Due to the pandemic, the busking performance was done in Korea. 2020 is a bad year for the world but for the many Sohyang diehard fans, it had been a fruitful year for us because of this show. Sohyang is honestly the best living female pop singer right now, hands down. Yup, she sounds better than Mariah Carey, maybe even better than Christina Aguilera. Only reason she isn't famous is because she has been dedicated to her religious cause to repay her gratitude for a second chance at life after recovering from cancer, turning down several commercial offers along the way. However, she has made some number of musical performances on TV over the years like this as well as on JTBC's Begin Again this season, to extend her talent to comfort not only those in her religious circle, but also to the masses.

This would have been amazing if it had been on a stage with the backing of an orchestra & the sound equipment but this was so hyang ' busking'. She started a capella,then the piano joined in & finally a little bit of acoustic guitar to finish with but minimal accompaniment. I have no doubt that she could have sung the whole thing a capella & she did all this sat down with her legs crossed (not the best position to sing as it constricts the diaphragm & the capacity of the lungs to expand fully). She is amazing & if you read her back story you will love her even more

This was a masterpiece by Dolly Parton...so emotionally evocative. As I recall, Colonel Parker tried to buy this song for Elvis, but Dolly was smart...she retains all rights to all of her music. That paid off big time when Whitney covered it...
Oh no...Dolly wrote the song and her version is still available, as are any covers. Elvis wanted to own every song he sang instead of paying royalties and or rights fees. We all wonder if So Hyang is human or from another planet. Current odds are that she's from another planet or perhaps an angel come down from Heaven. We have never heard anyone sing like her, or be able to hold an audience in the palm of her hand until she lets them go. She does all the musical arrangements herself, teaches vocal technique at a South Korean university and speaks four languages. Korean, English, French and Vietnamese. Let me catch my breath. OK. She is a cancer survivor from uterine cancer at the age of 20, just after getting married, and states very plainly that God saved her life due to the prayers of her church. But this left her without the ability to have children so she decided to dedicate her life to being a Contemporary Christian Gospel singer and has refused recording contracts from the biggest corporations in the world. She only wants to sing for charities, churches and while doing missionary work. David Foster, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton and others have all travelled to Asia to work with her. She contracted hepatitis B from a blood transfusion during her cancer surgery and it clings to her to this day. Because of this she is prone to catching pneumonia but has sang perfectly while suffering from it in her live performance of "You Raise Me Up" before Shane Filan of Westlife on South Korean TV. She has asked those who love her singing to pray that God keep pneumonia away from her, she has suffered from it on so many occasions. Imagine how she must feel with this coronavirus floating around everywhere! She just turned 42 on April 5, though in Korean culture she would be 43 because you are deemed to be one year old when you are born. This is from a show Begin Again. It is a busking show where famous/popular singers and musicians get together and travel around the world busking.
Sohyang joined the show at Season 4 from ep 6 to 10. Due to the pandemic, the busking performance was done in Korea.
2020 is a bad year for the world but for the many Sohyang diehard fans, it had been a fruitful year for us because of this show.
Usually, reactors start their journey of Sohyang with Arirang Alone from Immortal Song 2.

The fact that two of the very best singers of their generation are sitting next to her literally slack-jawed speaks volumes.

Sohyang is honestly the best living female pop singer right now, hands down. Yup, she sounds better than Mariah Carey, maybe even better than Christina Aguilera. Only reason she isn't famous is because she has been dedicated to her religious cause to repay her gratitude for a second chance at life after recovering from cancer, turning down several commercial offers along the way. However, she has made some number of musical performances on TV over the years like this as well as on JTBC's Begin Again this season, to extend her talent to comfort not only those in her religious circle, but also to the masses.

This would have been amazing if it had been on a stage with the backing of an orchestra & the sound equipment but this was so hyang ' busking'. She started a capella,then the piano joined in & finally a little bit of acoustic guitar to finish with but minimal accompaniment. I have no doubt that she could have sung the whole thing a capella & she did all this sat down with her legs crossed (not the best position to sing as it constricts the diaphragm & the capacity of the lungs to expand fully). She is amazing & if you read her back story you will love her even more

This was a masterpiece by Dolly Parton...so emotionally evocative. As I recall, Colonel Parker tried to buy this song for Elvis, but Dolly was smart...she retains all rights to all of her music. That paid off big time when Whitney covered it...

Oh no...Dolly wrote the song and her version is still available, as are any covers. Elvis wanted to own every song he sang instead of paying royalties and or rights fees. Dolly kept ownership and it reaped great profits for her when Whitney's cover caused the song to surge in popularity. The song was written as a farewell to Porter Wagoner, whom Dolly worked with as a Duet act for years.

So Hyang is my favorite, some others songs are ARIRIANG ALONE, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Everyone and her being very religious you have to hear here OH HOLY NIGHT!! She is the best, but speaking of Korean another singer known as the QUEEN of KPOP is "AILEE" she does a killer rendition of I will always love you!!! Then Writer and singer of the original is Dolly Parton done way back in 1974!! You speak of calming effect on the world problems which are very true. Enter "DIMASH KUDAIBERGEN" from Kazakhstan he's 26 sings in 12 languages speaks 4 while practicing more on English and Chinese. He is truly a Gift of God. He sings in over six octaves from bass to a D 8 which is too high for a piano!! Suggested songs . S. O. S. in French (hint) put in Eng. Sub. to have English at bottom. and another is Sinful Passion. Nice reaction. My favorite recent performance by Sohyang is 'Please'. Watch the video without English subs, you won't need them and the English sub version is audio only. You only need to know that the word she repeats at the end is "please." Her emotional delivery tells you everything else.

We all wonder if So Hyang is human or from another planet. Current odds are that she's from another planet or perhaps an angel come down from Heaven. We have never heard anyone sing like her, or be able to hold an audience in the palm of her hand until she lets them go. She does all the musical arrangements herself, teaches vocal technique at a South Korean university and speaks four languages. Korean, English, French and
Vietnamese.
Let me catch my breath. OK.
She is a cancer survivor from uterine cancer at the age of 20, just after getting married, and states very plainly that God saved her life due to the prayers of her church. But this left her without the ability to have children so she decided to dedicate her life to being a Contemporary Christian Gospel singer and has refused recording contracts from the biggest corporations in the world. She only wants to sing for charities, churches and while doing missionary work. David Foster, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton and others have all travelled to Asia to work with her.
She contracted hepatitis B from a blood transfusion during her cancer surgery and it clings to her to this day. Because of this she is prone to catching pneumonia but has sang perfectly while suffering from it in her live performance of "You Raise Me Up" before Shane Filan of Westlife on South Korean TV. She has asked those who love her singing to pray that God keep pneumonia away from her, she has suffered from it on so many occasions. Imagine how she must feel with this coronavirus floating around everywhere!

She decided to enter a televised singing contest called "King of the Masked Singers" in 2017 and won six consecutive times, which has catapulted her into international fame from the performances being posted on UA-cam. Apparently Oprah Winfrey saw her on UA-cam and showed her to David Foster, who then contacted her and went to Japan in order to work together. She could be an international Super Star if she wanted to be but has decided that it would ruin her spiritually, quoting Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death." So she does not pursue fame or fortune and actually has no social media presence whatsoever. What can one say about such a person? She is a literal Wonder Woman! And we need about a billion more just like her!
