What I need is A BIG STRONG MAMA .I married my Wife for her looks and she is anything but strong , and as far as the looks well just use your Imagination.😢
First thing you do is buy 2 twenty feet rails and throw away the ones it came with, then pour concrete footings to level them and you can cut over 14’ instead of 8’. I have milled a lot of lumber with mine and I can tell you the flexing those runners do will mess up your wood, I like mine a lot.
I disagree with that statement 100% those pieces of angle are stout, there is nothing wrong with the steel, but I do agree that lagging them to a level and most importantly flat slab of concrete makes them rigid, You can buy more track and it bolts right up, then I tack welded and ground the seems. You ask why not just buy the angle in one piece, the answer is the price of steel.
Ummm... I bet that blade did not like that jamming into the log after the rail got cleared. Might have a bit of wave in that 1st cut. Looks like it once you flipped that side against the log stops.
No, you are correct it didn't, especially since that blade was on it's last leg. Given what we were milling (i don't know if you've seen any of our other videos on our channel) it was a risk worth taking. That particular blade has milled almost all of the interior boards for our cabin.
This just makes me want to get our own mill even more!
We have milled a lot of stuff with it over the last few years.
Nice to produce your own boards.
That mill has more than paid for itself. Almost all of our cabin interior was milled by us, out of dead trees on our property.

How long of boards can that mill cut?
Just over 9 feet with the standard track that it comes with.
