Nicely done; I made a tutorial mself a few years back on painting human zombies in 1/6 scale, but that was more anchored in reality; for example, very few dead bodies turn green, and if a person dies with his eyes open, you can see a black band across the eyes (called tache noir, google it if you want to see dead people's eyes). But hey, that's me, and god knows what death would do to a monster...
That red wash on the eyes did a great job I thought. Looks great
What great timing I just grabbed that last one at the local comic shop.
I just ordered this mini so the timing for this video is perfect. Great paint job.
Such lovely work. Thank you.
Nice work on the zombie Beholder. I miss painting mini's (badly) and playing D&D (also badly.)
Thanks for providing excellent inspiration, yet again.
Really well done with the skin. The rotting feel definitely comes through!
Beholders are my *favorite* monster. Love this.
Looks great!
As always awesome video. Thank you. I will steal this method. Have two undead dragons on my pile of shame waiting for this exact paintjob.
Excellent!
Oh Dr. Faust. It’s already past my bedtime then I see you have a new video out.
Zombies AND beholders?! What's not to love?
Really like this one. For me imagining if this were my work (yeah right) I would've added some glossy ooze to the mouth, eyes and some of the more pronounced areas of the skin where you can see the tissues underneath. For the eyes perhaps a glossy greenish glaze.
Cool project.
Thanks. Just got this mini...
nice, I always struggle with beholder eyes, im never happy with them . I'll try your technique next time 👀
awesome video as always rly love your painting style wish i can do that to im totaly noob i can do only base color and use shades :(
It's so weird you post this now. I just got a Beholder and I've been thinking about what to do with it...I was thinking of adding some dead-looking, milky-blue eyes, and then here you go, making this half-dead zombie thing, lol
Nice
Looks great!
What didn't you like about the crimson wash? It seemed to look good in the video at least.
The consistency is just weird. I'm more familiar with inks.

have you ever considered using other materials than just paints to achieve the look you want. The fibers from the inner tube of an old dried out red marker would be thin enough to use for the blood shot eye veins. Also , a Matte finish would suffice is you don't want to use a gloss coat but don't forget that when something is decomposing, a certain type of sludge also oozes out.
Can I recommend mission models paint?
Looking good ( Pun intended)
Do you get 2 of these in a pack?
What do the acronyms mean?
Key is in the description.
perhaps a nice Matte finish would suffice.
So how are you removing the original post from the beholder and putting a new post in?
Rip out of the old one, epoxy putty the hole, drill in a new brass rod.
Doctor Faust's Painting Clinic but how are you ripping it out or is there any sort of technique?
I got a Gazer and was considering the same
@@joshbecka6110 Just literal brute force. Using a razor saw would work as well.
yes me and other paint nuggel me i say if looks like you get someing if tutch the mini worse the covert 19 then you did a great job and you did it ok slime from woonds and magets eating it bring over the top but thats me and yes you still did it see as post
this is amazing but I bet leaving the eye without an iris or pupil would have made it extra undead creepy..
