There are weep holes already drilled through my concrete foundation. I’ve seen them dump like a faucet in heavy rains. Ive installed Hydraway and am just about to install foam board and barrier. Should I fill all of the weep holes beforehand? I assumed they were there to prevent the pressurized water from destabilizing the soil underneath the footing by alleviating pressure just above it. If my Hydraway is only buried an inch or two it can probably handle those “faucets” in heavy rains no? I’ve also installed Hydraway exterior French drain and installed new gutters and downspout drainage out to the street. Thanks for everything I’ve needed so far!

The Hydraway can certainly handle the water coming out of the weep holes. Thank you so much for watching.

And weep holes are punched below the concrete slab to allow that water into the drainage system. With a crawl space that water's going to find its way in anyways but there's no slab for the water to go on top of. Great advice

Interesting on the interior French Drain depth that y’all install at . I always thought that the pipe Paralleled with the concrete footer or below it? Guess it depends on the soil type as you indicated here!

Dr. Church, After placing equipment such as a dehumidifier and condensate pump in my crawl space, is there any need for any type of smoke detector, etc., if something were to go haywire?

Hey Rich! There's little chance a dehumidifier will cause an issue but there is still a chance. I think that's a great idea and thank you so much for sharing. If a gas furnace is in a crawl space, a carbon monoxide detector may be a good idea as well. Thanks for the question and we appreciate you watching. Have a happy and blessed day.
