Whooping Crane

These two Whooping Cranes were photographed while looking for other birds. It was quite by accident. It was a very windy day and location. You can hear the cranes calling but lots of wind noise. Also, they were at a great distance from me.

Lucky you! The Whoopers occasionally migrate through a nearby WMA within 20 minutes drive. I've gone there over the years to maybe discover one. No luck. In April 2021 one showed up and was reported - I was in Texas birding and missed out. 😂
