  • Went out for some back country trail wheelin. A rainy day in November was the perfect time to take the rock buggies out for a bit of rock crawling. The group consisted of a Toyota 4runner turned rock bouncer, the EMB Memorial rig, there was also a built Suzuki rock buggy, an old Toyota Cruiser rock crawler and a more stock Toyota 4runner out for for a wick day on the trails.

      It sure is awesome around here but its tough.......slippery rocks and lots of trees mean crawling doesn't work well so its a lot of full throttle launches and body damage!

      Good lesson to keep the gimbal a little further from the rigs! I can't believe it didn't get broken, those were both super hard hits!

      Yes Nice! i was wondering what kind of equipment you are using?! it looks great.

      I use all sorts of different things but in that video its all shot on a Gopro Hero4 black on a powered gimbal with a remote mic. I still need to fine tune it a bit, its hard in the dark woods with a bright sky tho!

    Lol, so the line to take at :52 is to hammer down and swing passenger to tap the tree and lighten ship half way up. That was awesome! Really like these videos bro. Lots of action. I'd love to wheel out there.

      Haha yup you've got it, our wheelin turns into more rock bouncing because you can't crawl a lot of the rocks and we get a lot of body damage from the trees!

      Thanks! I really appreciate the comment, got a ton more wheeling planned this summer, in fact I was out last weekend and shot this (I apologize for the shakiness, I broke my gimbal so the vid isn't up to my usual standards!) ua-cam.com/video/0_SqvkPrbWw/v-deo.html

    Bad ass video!. Cool rigs and great terrain. Loved the fluidity of the video as you moved alongside as the rigs went by. Thanks

      Thanks! I've just got myself a powered gimbal and really like how much easier it is to get the smooth shots out there running around the woods! Stay tuned for lots more this year, i'm thinking I might start uploading in 4k too!

      Totally, that one just works really well, just enough power to get up and go but not enough to be breaking parts all the time!

      It can get creepy at night but zero big-foots yet! Come around the corner into a herd of Elk before that were all taller than the rigs! Plus cougars and bears, but we don't sneek up on much haha

      In that case I have some bad news for you..........they've been clearcutting and as far as I know that rockface is all blocked/messed up as they went thru like they do.

  • @redger26

    Any details on that 40 buggy? He straight gets it done! Any more video of this one?

    • @PathmakerProductions
      @PathmakerProductions  7 років тому

      I know it has the straight 6 and cruiser diffs front and rear. He has been driving it for years like that, wants to stretch the wheelbase a bit for the big climbs but it sure works well the way he has it set up. I don't know all the details because he is the local Cruiser Wizard and there is all sorts of neat things going on under the panels. Search my channel for Bloodfart Trail Wheelin, his rig is in that and a few of my older vids.

    What engine is in the buggie that bent its rear shock?

    • @PathmakerProductions
      @PathmakerProductions  6 років тому

      It has a 5.3L LS in it. It badly needs a tune because it still has the ecu from the 4.8L LS he had in there first so the 5.3L might be a little confused! Still works pretty decent tho, nothing like close to 300hp to bring a smile to your face!

    • @zekespoerke5835
      @zekespoerke5835 6 років тому

      What transfer case and transmission is he using with that? I have a great condition LQ4 that I was thinking about swapping in my Tacoma, but want to do it with 4 or 5 speed manual and manual 4x4

    • @PathmakerProductions
      @PathmakerProductions  6 років тому

      He is running a Turbo400 trans and a 203/205 Tcase with a NWF doubler. I love the manual in my truck but you'll learn quickly that once you have over 300hp its not nearly as crucial to have a 5spd anymore. When you have 100hp you have to sidestep the clutch and get all the power you can, once you're up in the 300+hp range you can just mash the gas and get the same effect so in my experience the vast vast majority of guys running v8s in their rigs are running either a t400 or a 4(or6)L80 auto with a good stall and a shift kit.
