In the interests of accuracy and 'credit where it's due', for the WW-I display Sir Peter was deeply involved in a great many ways as creator of the exhibition, providing aircraft, incredibly rare and significant memorabilia, and of course, that amazing innovation in display. But Sir Peter has not been involved in the WW-II section, which was not his area of interest. This was produced by the museum community, using a lot of influence that we'd gained from our association with the Wingnut Films and Weta teams. It's been an excellent marriage of inputs to create something special on numerous levels.
The Aviation Heritage Centre displays Eddie Rickenbacker's "Teddy Bear" flying suit that he wore in action. A museum guide told me that American visitors are amazed to see it there and some are annoyed that it isn't displayed in an American museum.
Well worth a visit is correct. I spent hours and would go back again.
Thanks Mike, Certainly a credit to Sir Peter Jackson
Great hope to visit one day

I would get stuck there for a long time. To bad I'm about 20 000 km away...

What's with the choice of music?
I didn't notice any American displays maybe because they didn't win either war on their own and came in late in both.
You're welcome. We're always happy to bail you out when you can't finish your own squabbles.
@@rogerw3818 Not to mention our help in Vietnam and Afghanistan.
