It's amazing that Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada have aged very well. As people get older a lot of times they don't look like their younger selves but they still look the same. They're just slightly older from their early years but they're still recognizable. Larry Wilcox has still got his smile and those dimples and and Eric is still got his smile and his personality. Hats off to these gentlemen I watched chips growing up as a kid myself. One of the iconic shows of the 70s. That era will never repeat itself again. I wish these gentlemen a very happy life.
Verdade, concordo. São lindos, super fã Brasileira.
These guys are so cool I wish I could meet them one day
This is awesome - my childhood comes alive. These guys look great - they should be on a detective show!
They're wonderful. It's so beautiful and interesting to listen to them. Seeing them together, the two inseparable friends Jon and Ponch, is like a ray of sunshine entering our hearts. Thanks for continuing to make us dream... you're legends. Jon and Ponch, on the immense highways, under the California sun, forever. 🇺🇸🌹🌹Thank you
It's nice to see they can stand one another again.
Funniest thing I ever experienced was being in jail in California and the entire holding area was watching C.H.I.P.S. The inmates were glued to the tv and the comments from them were hilarious! Love the show growing up in 1978.
I loved the show and when I was in jail in the 80s in Oregon, everyone was watching Miami Vice. This 1 old head got pissed that we were watching cop shows until he finally saw the humor and hot women.
Im in jail right now replying to ut comment
These guys still look great !!
Great interview and Q&A with these two guys that were in my life growing up watching CHIPS. Damn they look great together after all these years.
I met Erik years ago at a car cruise inn where I live. He signed a shirt for me.
George Lopez doesn't believe you.
Such a great pair of down to earth guys. my heroes growing up, i remember very well riding side by side on my BMX with my friend, i was ponch and he was john. such nostalgia seeing these two.
I met Larry at my cousins wedding back in the mid 90s. He was very likable. It was fun talking to him. I'm glad he is doing well.
Why was he attending your cousins wedding? Did they know each other from somewhere?
@MisterBernd Their wives are friends from college. They met at Cal State LA.
77 and 75 years old. Holy moly, neither look it.
So I got to see Larry and Erik at this comic con (in fact I asked the question in the middle of this Q&A). I didn't know what to expect but they seemed like regular guys. Both were extremely nice. This was definitely a thrill for me to meet two TV stars that I adored as a little kid. If you're a fan of CHIPS and they come to a city near you, do yourself a favor and meet them.
What a great show!!! Thanks to all of you!!!
I think Eric had a few before going on set there😅
Yes he did
@MediumLalena didn't look like he was hurting anyone. 😊
Hah, that's how his personality is and that's cool.
Yeah he is
The more I watch, the more I believe that is a huge possibility!🥴🤣👍
Loved this show never missed a episode each day I still watch it and wish it was still on when I would think of a cop it was always these guys to come to my mind chips was awesome I miss it wish it was still being taped and there was new episodes coming I miss them days I seen every one now I just watch over again the only part is knowing what happens takes the fun out of it :( wish it was going to be a reboot of the show with these guys on the bikes would be so nice
Estrada was Hollywood Christmas 🎄 Parade Honoree and its funny because I saw ut on Wilcox And Hollywood Blvd. They are both great souls & we love em both.
this wasnt my favorite show as a kid, I saw it after it ended and was running in syndication every day, but it was a solid show. its cool to see how they are getting along so well today after all these years
I'm still watching this show.
As a kid, whoa look at all those cool car crashes.
As an adult...damn they spent a lot to destroy cars.
Erik is on fire lol! He's definitely as down to earth here as anyone could get!
How cool was this, I honestly thought both of them were dead. Never been so glad to be wrong. Not only alive but apparently in good health and great spirits.
Lol 😂
Probably those death thingies they do on celebrities now and again, making people think the celebrity is dead I don't know if they're trying to make a joke of death or what but regardless it's not funny there's nothing funny about death I know it's something we're all going to do some day, some of us sooner than others but regardless we're all going to die one day we don't live forever but anyway that's probably what it was cause I think a death hox had been done on both Larry and Erik everytime a death hox is done on another celebrity I too even think they're dead until I check on the Internet and I find out that they are very much alive. I don't like death hoxes there's nothing funny about them.
Dead hoaxes that's what I was trying to say! Sorry my spelling is terrible!
I friigin' loved this show!
Erik Estrada fan! ❤
Damn this was good, I thought to myself ah I don't to go back to this .. but God almighty the memories start to flow like a river, saw many episodes being filmed since I lived in Agoura Hills just a center of the Universe for the PCH & canyons scenes.
Eric Estrada never get old. Oh my he looks so handsome 😮😮😮😮 Real Puertorican blood😮❤❤❤❤
Man.....our childhood legend
My dad was an actor in the 80s and was in the “Florence Nightingale” episode. We still get residuals of about $5 ever few months, for the episode streaming on cable.
The best show ever.
Saudades boms tempos ❤
Estrada seems hammered.
Eu amava o seriado CHIPS, era muito divertido. Obrigada.
Two down to earth guys. That came across on CHiPs. Never saw it when it originally aired as I was busy doing other things when it was on. But have seen reruns many times and bought the dvd set. I also have a '77 CHiPs KZ1000 with the twin speedos, only 2k on the clock.
Loved the show
I like that i know the shows they are talking about since i still watch the show.
I remember the MADD episode with the death of Ponch's fiancee. It was good TV in it's day
Man I loved watching CHiPs growing up, loved the episodes with the celebrities, I also had a CHiPs motorcycle for kids that you could ride on
My favorite line from this whole thing is jumping beaver lol
I own this entire series on DVD and still one of my absolute favorites. I was eight years old when this came out and it had been impact on me. Like I said still one of my absolute favorites although I think there were times that Frank got a raw deal from the Sarge.
Lol yep. Erik lacks a filter😂. Like he says, at his age, he can say whatever he wants to lol.
That was nice to see
Larry's son appeared in "Moving Violations," which also co-starred Rosey Grier. (One of my favorite episodes!)
Both Erik & Larry seem like a lot of fun. Was Erik a bit smashed lol? They both look great for being in their 70's, Hell i'd have a beer with them.
They had me laughing the whole way through
Fantastic interview
I am so happy Larry mentioned Skyheist (He called it Aerro- Bureau here) that was a pre-CHiP's pilot that was set alongside the LA Sheriffs helicopters. Its very rare to find and I wished it would be remastered as the prints are multi generational copies off the VHS tape of it
I just watched that movie a week ago on youtube, and ya.. I recognized 'John' and it reminded me of CHiPs.
I teared up watching because I miss those days so much. Watching this shows on DVR is fun because you can rewind them when you see the bad editing during the stunts. lol
This looks like from 1979!!!! Never age guys!!!!❤
I watched this series in Brazil and I thought it was curious that Erik's last name is Estrada, because "ESTRADA" in Portuguese means highway! So in my innocence I thought that this was an artistic surname or a connection with the name of the series! I think he will never know that.
Broderick Crawford also guest-starred in a segment with Ponch who was a really big fan.
I've got a good idea for a final season they could do at their current age. The show would be that somehow there was a mix-up with their paperwork and it turns out they need to work one more year of work to qualify for their pensions or they'll lose their pensions! I think it could be really funny because you would have the angle where they could no longer run very fast to get the bad guy or maybe they fall over on a motorcycle but not really get hurt bad this kind of thing but yeah it would still be great because they are both still super funny
Chips for me as a kid was a narcotic. In reality, back in the day they didn't quite get along. Jon was asked around 79 if they hung out, he said never, never out of work. His ego was bonkers. Ponch couldn't believe himself back then.
You're the man Ponch u too Jon
Chips was a great show
Didn't these two not get along for a long time? Wonder over what.
Love chips
I'm pretty sure Erik was tipsy, and it revealed his silly side... you can usually tell a lot about a person by how they are when they are drunk, and he seems like a funny and mischievous person
CHIPS was a pro Cop show that inspired people to want to be police officers and help people. LA Mary 12 and 13 responding….
Keep on truckin Eric ha
7:25 rumors fly so fast these days you can get that starlet walks to starbucks in her sweats photo in an instant instead of only seeing it if you page thru a Tiger Beat at the checkout stand.
Welcome to California Pines!
only reason I love cops
ESSES 2 FORAM MEUS PRIMEIROS ÍDOLOS DA TELEVISÃO!👏👏👏👏
Que bárbaros son los mismos
Pena que não é dublado em Português, Amava a série CHiPs.
Erik sounds more like Jerry Lewis these days.😄.
76 erik looks 59, and the energy
Wow
Erik ever try impersonating Al Pacino?
They sure hold their age well I think.
Nice watch for sure, good show!
Geez Eric let Larry speak
No more Puertorican rum for you erik😂
Eric is not acting like he is right
I always watched that show dubbed in Spanish growing up in Puerto Rico in the 70's and the Eric's character always struck me as a womanizer cocky cop. Gee...wonder why??!!😅😂🤣. No, he's a cool guy. They both are. Brought back memories that interview.
Eric is goofy as ever but how in the hell is he 75 years old!?!?!!
Due to Ca Hgwy Patrol stipulations on their giving help with the series they supposedly demanded that the actor/officers (although allowed to carry handguns) never draw them .
7 Mary 3
Think Erik Is Drunk!
weed.
Both picked up his energy
I thought they didn't get on
They are actors.
Does Eric sound “drunk”? Or is it just me?
Reading his energy, yes, he was a bit drunk
Eric Estrada is a policeman now
About giving them a bottle of water.
It makes sense. Larry used to drive a baby blue cadillac el dorado convertible with bull horns on the front hood. 🚙
🎶 everytime i booze i cruise,
Seems i never win, because everytime i turn around im back in jail again
Ive got no emotion, so away i go!
Some even say im inhuman, but sometime, ive just gotta go
When i put my lips on you, i feel so satisfied, i want to drink you forever, even though, ive still gotta drive
Everytime i booze i cruise, seems i never win because everytime i turn around im back in jail again
🎶 right back, right back in jail again, hes right, hes right back again 🎶

Ponch is out of his mind drunk, I’m embarrassed for Larry Wilcox.
Was Erik drunk??? Sad...!!
Episode actress night court fixture hot Rod station wagon
Erik Estrada is drunk... LOL!
Erik is definitely drunk
Erik is drunky drunky!!?
The worst tv show ever in my life as a show we we're all afraid of cop's that's how my life was to be afraid of the big bad cop's we we're the hunted and they were the hunters so I think less of cop's just ti scare us i hated that show if you weren't a fan then consider a bad guy i dislike cop's because it was to remind us you get outta line your public enemy number one so that's why I hate cop's I'm not a kid and even then I hated cop's till this day nothings changed it still can't stand chips period
Eric has Zero respect for the people who came to see them !
Souds like Ponch was sipping back on grandpas ole cough medicine
Spin off emergency
