- While it sometimes feels like herding cats, I managed to get the girls to the prom for Ethan and Emma to have their special night. It was awkward and weird. The whole episode is awkward and weird. Sims 4 is so buggy and broken but still amusing. And these poor teen Lego Friends girls are having a rough time of it.

Ellie I know it mustn't feel it when you're playing it real time but this is honestly - hilarious 😂 the girls are such Moods - Mia this time around was the fave! She was DONE with everything.
My god, YES, you have hit on one of my pet peeves: if friends are going somewhere, how about we walk together? Or families? Sure, lets have the child wandering by themselves in San Myshuno 🙃
Do you happen to play with any mods, is it an option for you? I find leaving it un-modded makes the characters so...out of character and generic. When I started playing I (naturally!) built a Baby-Sitters club group and yeah, quickly frustrated with how they were all so generic despite their traits. Fell into using MCCC to cheat extra traits and lifestyles (not TOO many, my god, the lag), which helped to lean them toward the personalities they were meant to have - like heatproof and the healthy food lifestyle for Dawn, natural leader for Kristy, a couple of the art/muse ones and high metabolism + junk food lifestyle for Claudia 🤣which I have absolutely no idea how they're supposed to get autonomously because they will literally eat whatever leftovers are in the fridge before anything else.
There's also a creator called bienchen who I LOVE, who has created a TON of tweaks to things - autonomy mods - STOP TALKING TO THE PLANTS, if I don't queue tasks all my sims want to do is talk to the spinach! - expansion mods like letting animal walkers be in other worlds, and things I'd call logic mods like allowing swimming to increase hygiene - nice little gameplay adjustments that make it all a bit less random. I'd link to them but YT might block, so google them if you're keen. I don't think I could've continued playing with Mr 7 if I hadn't put on the less random flirting tweak (bienchen), it was just getting super-awkward since sims seems to be so centric on forming romantic attachments. Let men and women be *friends*, too!
For Cottage Living playthrough...it comes down to whether you're having fun with them still! I go through phases where I'll compulsively play for a week, and then ignore it for 6 months. I enjoyed Cottage Living when I put on a bunch of lot challenges - they could move to a farm to look after, and put the Off the Grid trait on - they would be OFF their phones and have no choice but to socialise!
But yeah with sims ideas, they seem great for about 20 minutes and then it seems to return to the grind of keeping them happy and dodging the generic interactions every sim leans toward. Whatever you decide I hope you have fun with it!
It’s just bug city and little super unrealistic things break the immersion. There’s so much that is fun though! Just not the grinding through daily needs provision 😂. I use MCCC but feel like I might need to investigate other mods. It’s just so painful without them.

The Sims are simply hilarious, I don't get half of the things they decide to do on their own 😂 this turned out to be almost a what (not) to do in the prom dress series - riding a bike, lying on the grass, kicking a ball... 😂 and I'm also wondering what was in that punch really 🤣 ~Wavey ;)
