I had a CBR500, and if you take the little snorkel/tube off the housing of the air filter, it makes a much deeper intake noise on hard acceleration. Just thought you would like to know, cheers.
This K&N filter just looks cooler, that is it (but the problem is that you only see it when you clean it once a year). I installed this K&N filter on my 2015 CB500FA and after 5-6 months of use (4000 miles ridden), it really doesn't make a difference in performance on this bike. I "thought" it made a difference at first, but that was me just telling myself that because I spent money on an aftermarket filter. I had to keep in mind that this is a 476CC bike and I'm NOT going to get much performance out of this bike over stock (they didn't design this bike to make it go stupid fast). If I could do it over again, I would not buy a K&N filter for my CB500F because I did not notice much of a difference over the stock filter (its all in your head).
The best thing this filter does is that it "allows you to turn some screws and work on your bike". That's the BEST part of buying this K&N filter (not the performance it will make. Please don't get your hopes up that it will make more horsepower).

Lah Moto vlog It might do but i doubt it. Mostly just for the deeper induction noise.

Another bigger advantage is that you don't need to keep buying new filter boxes, but you can just clean and refresh the same filter.
