If Nintendo ever decides port, remaster, or remake any of the games, (sad as it is, I think a sequel is out of the question :/) I hope they’re all called the same thing, whatever that thing is - - the reason being that it’s confusing to me what I should call them. I mostly call the fan base “the mother fan base” or “Mother/EarthBound fan base” because if you say “EarthBound fan base” it seems like you’re only talking about the second game. (I know that the only two official releases from the series are “Earthbound” and “EarthBound beginnings,” but for me, the first game is “Mother,” however, I also refer to Mother as a series, trilogy, and fan base (or the first game can be “Mother 1,” especially if it’s in a context talking about more than one game from the series.) I’m not too fond of the name Earthbound Beginnings, to be honest. The second game I’ll usually call simply “EarthBound,” in a context of “I liked EarthBound, that is an Earthbound item, etc.” (I will sometimes say “Mother 2: EarthBound” mostly when I’m talking about the first and/or third game, and need to clarify that they’re all a series, or sometimes if somebody has never heard of the game, I still preface it with Mother to imply that other games of the Mother franchise exist). The third one is “Mother 3” (or, if I’m talking about the scrapped n64 DD version, it’s “EarthBound 64”) being clear on what you mean is definitely very hard, because I hear a couple Mother fans who didn’t know that EarthBound was initially Mother 2. Like I said, this is just my personal naming process (which is probably illogical) and I wish this was way more simple, but I’m not sure if there’s any easy way to call the series any one thing without one fan or another being upset (in the way that I don’t like the name “EarthBound Beginnings,” however I do think that I’d be fine if Nintendo called the first game EarthBound Zero - - I like the number system more). I believe the Super Smash Bros. calls the series “Mother/EarthBound” and in the context of Super Smash Bros, I think that works very well, but in any remake/remaster/port, I would not want to read the title, Mother/EarthBound.
@@hellointernet4467 If I am not mistaken I have never seen that officially stated by Nintendo or Sakurai. More of a theory. If they have I would love a link to the information!
@@TheNintendoNetwork The Way To Debunk To Statement IS Already Shown In Game. There Multiple Types Of Spirits: Primary, Support, Master, Fighter. Hey, good video! I just wanted to point out that Dungeon Man is fought on Mushroomy Kingdom as a reference to his location in Earthbound: Scaraba
Great video! But Flint actually gave Lucas the Franklin badge in mother 3; that's why he has it equipped

Am I the only fan who prefers the EarthBound name?
I too prefer Earthbound, it is what I have known the series as sense I was younger, but wanted to respect the community.
When you said about respecting the community, you did the right thing.
