I am using P40 Pro 5G for 3 years and upgraded to S23 ultra.
I can say that P40 Pro to this day is still rocking it! Battery performance and especially face recognition is still much better in P40 pro.
I can only imagine what would happen to Apple and Samsung if the google ban is lifted from Huawei.

Honestly they as well as all Xiaomi subbrands were really aggressive in terms of spyware. I'm honestly surprised though that Xiaomi and subbrands are still largely unbanned, though Oppo, Vivo, Realme and even OnePlus have pulled out of Germany for patent reasons.
Huawei was a great brand with the wrong goals.

Great content. The winner is actually these new powerful Qualcomm for making these excellent chips. I love Huawei but had to go with the Honor Magic 5 Pro. Huawei will always be by favorite brand.

Hi technick, , from 3,50 minute of the video, is it really Huawei P60 Pro UFS 3.1 speed can be much faster than UFS 4 ?
Performance is better on the S23U but that is expected as it has a newer chip and 50% more RAM. The difference wasn’t enough to be close to being deal-breaking, so maybe the cameras would be the deciding factor? Sadly, I feel that they each have pros and cons and no quantifiable winner there. Prices are similar, both can be had cheaper with deals, e.g. the Huawei has £150 off at the moment plus some gifts.
2023 is a strange year as many flagship phones are equitable, with none standing out as a no-brainer. I suppose that having a decent chip made by TSMC (Samsung sacked) that is expected. I assume the next iPhone and Pixel will also be close so Phone of the Year is more about brand loyalty and personal preference than any definable difference. Is that a sign of a very mature market for candy bar phones? Where consumers cannot really go wrong?

Pretty good by the Huawei P60 Pro considering it has last years flagship Snapdragon. And also uses the slower LPDDR5 RAM and slower UFS 3.1 Storage.
Ps. you gave a unfair advantage to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra by using the 12GB RAM version. But only using the 8GB RAM Huawei P60 Pro version!
The Huawei P60 Pro is also available in a 12GB RAM version 👌🏾

God it hurt seeing the gestures on S23 Ultra. You have to double swipe to close an app.
I know that this has been the case for the last 4 years... but look at Huawei's gestures. So smooth like the iPhone's!
huawei has irritating bugs in it's software whereas samsung's one is smooth asf , ios 16 had some unexpected bugs which i hope is fixed with ios 17

And huawei still hasn't lost the software touch. Even with animations being turned off on both phones, everything was more fluid on the P60 Pro

Have the same issue with the S23U... It doesn't always "grasp" the swipe gestures... It needs couple of tries
@@rdnax5775562 Swiping twice is the way android handles gestures. So I'm not surprised about that even on the S23 U.
But considering Huawei EMUI is also android based and it handles gestures so fluidly, maybe it's time for other phone manufacturers and Google to do that also.

In the end it doesn't matter. Its just another preference which system and ui you want to use or suits u more. Its 2023, sometimes mid range phones are better in some areas. Users should stop arguing or comparing and start using what they want the most from a smartphone. Just another 2cents in the comment section
We hace to take note, the samsung use UFS 4.0 and huawei use UFS 3.1 that help a lot when we open an App and that is the speed of the storage, because de CPU and GPU yo use it more when you are using the app.
Huawei needs to match Samsung on storage speed. Ufs 3.1 is not flagship spec.
Thanks for comparasion, this video is what i needed for deciding. I could not decide week ago, but now Im buying p60 Pro Because it looks like much more interesting phone to use than s23, design is on next level, camera is just amazing, and its so compact for holding, slightly overal better small advantages, its better optimized for rendering videos and photos even with weaker chipset. I dont mind its little slower than samsung
I bought instead of 256-8 stronger version with 512gb storage i 12gb ram, beast of a phone. Camera is perfect!

The leap over the s22u is very noticeable, I didn't expect to be such a different using experience
Not in my experience... Apps felt just a bit snappier than on the E22 but it can throttle quite similarly.... And I could drain the battery in quite similar times... It's a great device... But a really small step from the S22U

It's all about your plan to charge the phone. I've a 25W super fast charging Adapter and I always have plan on when I should charge it.

Your videos are great. I started following you a while ago. My only problem is that your videos have a slightly high frame rate of 60fps. If you can upload at a lower rate. Some old computers and phones have clipping videos all the time.
Indeed. My phone can't even handle 4k at 60. Instead locks the video to 480p until I leave it.

I have a question, why does my Mate 50 pro with identical internals as those in P60 pro take 1:18 min to export a similarly sized video, but the p60 takes 10 secs???

Why are animations not working on S23 ultra? For example, there is no animation when exiting programs
As shown at the start I removed animations on both devices
if you would use the HarmonyOS P60 Pro the Huawei phone would get more point because HarmonyOS optimiza the phone even better as Android

It is true that today this kind of speed test is more for fun, but to say that the 2 are at the same level of performance when one doubles the score of the other, is it not a desire to hide the sun with the hand 😅
People will always see what they want to see I guess. You can't fail to see that Huawei's abysmal software history makes it a very dangerous and risky purchase. Especially at the prices being asked for it globally.
... Most of that double scores were milisecs... The devices were quite much on pair... Usually on a year newer chip you'd rather get 40 to 0 on such a test..

S23 ultra is 1100 euro in the Netherlands now with 512 gb
in Colombia s23 ultra 512 gb is 1220 usd to 1400 in some stores but Huawei is 977 usd which is less and for 200 dollars less is all I need to know to buy it (I'm going specially for the camera)

These are all top-tier flagships, so even when there is a winner, in each category, the gap is so very teeny tiny. Some of them don't even look like a gap under normal eyes (and we have to take into consideration that this test is done by hands, not by machine. There could be a very slight error that both hands don't actually touch at the same time).
Samsung is by far still the best maker of android phones, but Huawei is no slouch. If Huawei was not banned, imagine what it could have achieved.

Samsung phones suck. It hangs and usually after a certain period of usage, issues will crop up. Being using Huawei before switching to xiaomi. Both phones are better than samsong.- VERY HEAVY USER.

Even as a Samsung S23 Ultra owner, I have to say the P60 Pro has an excellent camera system. Nobody can deny this. The rest of the phone is not up to the standard of it's camera though, as this basic speed test shows.
Man speed tbh aint important to moust..compare cameras especialy macro ..bcz for example in dental industry maxro is moust important..i have s23u for that purpuse but few days ago had oportunity to compare it with p50pro and tbh hwawi is in completely different league with much much more detail and on top of that it is way more practicsl for getting macro photos of teeth of our patients

Although the s23 ultra is much more powerful in numbers, Huawei is close on its heels. I don't see much difference in performance and power, but in cameras the p60 pro is much better.
You can't really compare it with any google apps like Chrome UA-cam ect that's an unfair advantage.
