The models you see in first person are exactly what you see in 3rd person and on other players. If you were to move the third person camera where the head is, it wouldn't change. Meanwhile, about recoil, if it was added to the first person model, the third person model would spaz and look obnoxious, and vice versa.
You’re gonna need a NASA supercomputer to run Arma 3. My computer runs Arma 3 on Ultra Graphics fine even with huge demanding battles, but as soon as I hit multiplayer, I hit 30 frames or lower on Medium graphics. I think it’s a game engine problem with AMD graphics cards
If they’re gonna add extra reload animation for different ways it’s gonna eat more memory and you might as well shove your CPU in the freezer to keep it cool

when the ak-12 popped up battlefield 4 just came into my head with alot of memories.... can anyone relate ? i wish they put the sks on here.. that use to me my favorite gun even with iron sights.. bought one in real life. just all around a popular,cheep but awesome weapon for defense for a house weapon against break-ins , target practice or your everyday militia or rebellion lmao.

The detail is necessary because arma has a ballistics model with realistic penetration and semi realistic body damage. There are cases a bullet would hit you, but you had your weapon in the right angle and it deflects the projectile. So basically every soldier is carrying a little metal shield and for that to make it realistic (and not OP) they had to make it as detailed as possible. The colour slapped on top of the model doesn't take much time from a development standpoint.

That game went a long way but by now it is pretty realistic for infantry combat. The campaign is boring and brutal, but it is there to teach you. There are tutorials, but the whole campaign is the extended tutorial. I still remember act two spawning you on an island (altis) with highly trained russian troops and only being armed with a pistol. That shit was frustrating. It is hard and you have to fight for every little victory, but once you succeed, you will feel like a boss. Once you defeat the campaign the real fun begins: mods and multiplayer. For mods I either recommend the Dynamic Universal War System mod (you start at a small fob and in the end have planes, artillery strikes and squad commands), and pilgrimage (you start as one soldier, need to know when to engage and when just to scavenge a battlefield and build up your own army) But for people with little (lul) time of about 2 hours per session you best join one of the semi realistic server. One time you are high command, the other you are squad lead and often you are just medic or AT soldier never shooting once but just talking with the people around you. Those games are not for quick kills but for the adrenaline of planning a firefight and winning it, walking and shittalking for 20 minutes and then seeing all your teammates getting mowed down. Edit: had a situation in multiplayer years ago where my 50cal was reflected from a guys smaw and killed his team mate 20 meter away, we were equally confused.

The detail is necessary because arma has a ballistics model with realistic penetration and semi realistic body damage. There are cases a bullet would hit you, but you had your weapon in the right angle and it deflects the projectile. So basically every soldier is carrying a little metal shield and for that to make it realistic (and not OP) they had to make it as detailed as possible. The colour slapped on top of the model doesn't take much time from a development standpoint.
