Faith, you’ve insprired me to start creative note taking in my Bible, I have a journaling Bible non-Interleaved but I add tap ins and I love it. I’ve learned so much!
This might sound a little crazy but if you like the scrappy look, sometimes trash can make for fun texture and paper. Think clothing tags, paper wrappers, old magazines.
Wonderful video, thank you for sharing so many great ideas. I have a Bible that a friend gave me, the pages are so thin that even colored pencil ghosts, so I designated it for read only.
I love these videos of frugal but good bible journaling supplies! Thank you for sharing! I've always been a pen, pencil. Notebook nerd, always searching for the perfect one!
Could never hate you Faith! I love your videos so real (and funny) and down to earth. You are a blessing. So grateful the Lord sent me to your page. Thank you P.s I also love those twistable crayons too. Not just for my toddlers!
I love regular Bic pens (blue) to write notes into my Bible. They are cheaper than dirt (seriously, have you bought dirt lately? Stuff's expensive!) Anyway, Bic pens are always sooooo smooth.
The big thing I have found is transparent sticky notes. They are clear. So you can write notes and still see the scriptures under them. So you can write and take notes without actually writing in the bible. You can pup them on top of each other. So see more note and still read the scriptures. You can even move them to other stops if you want. So if there is something that applies to more than verse. Vic color cue are good pens and intimate works well too. And bookmarks make good flip up or note pads like spots in your bible. And they can be tabs at the top of pages cause they stick up.
Lol I get a kick out of those State Farm crayons. I didn't know they made them. My dollar tree just closed down until March for renovations so hopefully when they open again they'll have more supplies for bible journaling. Thank you so much for the tips! I hope you are feeling better. 💖
Lol my son was with my husband one day when they were running errands, they went there and a worker gave my son the crayons and a little mini coloring book- well my son was still too young to actually color so I stole the crayons and they are in my purse for bible journaling on the go! Lol. Thank you! I really am! How are you doing?
Love, love, love the twistable color pencils by crayola. They also come off with a good eraser if you make a mistake (but be gentile). We bought a bunch for our congregation for Christmas two years ago and they were a hit. 👍
Also for the people that don’t like journaling, they have wonderful neon twistable colors for highlighting and they work perfectly! Bright color that doesn’t bleed through because it’s not it’s not a marker.
Yes! 🙂 The twist crayons come in neon (which our kids use in their bibles to highlight) but you can get neon color pencils in the twistable crayola pencils which are great highlighters as well! You may have brought this up in your video, but I had a toddler singing loudly in my ear at the time while watching, sorry! lol. I believe I have seen the twistable color pencils and crayons with erasers... but being a wife of a disabled vet, we have to live on the cheap so I just save the extra money and just use any big eraser that I’d buy during school time for the kids. They work great at erasing the color pencil marks from the twistable pencils, but ya gotta be slow with it or you might end up erasing right through the pages (especially if you’re like me and use pew bibles). Some side notes **** Just checked with my kids crayon twists with a big eraser and it works pretty good. Just a little bit of color left on the page leaving a very pale color after a little erasing. And also checked Amazon and they do have just neon packs of twist crayons but it seems like they may not sell just the neon packs of the twist pencils by themselves anymore, for those interested, but you can get a pack of 50 twistable pencils for $12.99 that includes all the neon colors with them. God Bless you and your UA-cam ministry! 💜 Edit: Lol! I just wanted to clarify after re-reading what I wrote that what I meant by “using pew bibles” I meant only buy them 😬 not sure if it came across that I was just highlighting all over the churches bibles 🤣 I don’t do that. Pew bibles are what I can afford but the pages are very thin sometimes.
I honestly like how you are doing the cheapest basic supplies, and not all creative , I tried to be creative, but it just is so sad, ahahahha so you are very inspiring to see you just use what you have and making cute things
I joined several crafting groups on Facebook. People are sweet to come tell the rest of us when they've found a great sale on supplies so we can go grab what we need, too. Also, most thrift stores have a craft supplies area. I've found stray crayons and colored pencils in bins that are cheap or free!
Yesss see I need all of this!! I was just telling my husband I wanted to start making some personal touches to my bible and a pop of color but never new the names of any of the items. Thank you this helps a bunch
I was at Michaels and decided to look at their scrap paper based on what you said in this video. You were right! They had a whole bunch of 12x12 packs on sale for less than $5!!
Have you tried clear gesso? It goes on the page like paint, makes your page sturdier and keeps your medium from bleeding through. It’s a game changer on using certain mediums in your journaling.
Oh you are a girl after my own heart,I been using Crayola Twistables in my Bible's for about 3 years along with colored pencils, and Pentel RSVP pens I have used for years, they come in different colors.Thrift stores are good sources also,I have bought ring binders, spiral note books and nice journals.
I’m frugal too and will try anything at the dollar store for bible journaling and my planner. However I am on the lookout for a very dependable black pen that I can use all the time.

@@HowtoFaithALife don’t use cheap glue. But that was because if you are using a glue stick and you want things to stay in place for years, cheap glue will not hold it. But a good tip I have learned to use while tipping in my notes into my Bible is the I run my glue stick down the edge of the paper, just the edge and put it in the crease of the Bible.
