A good set of axes, saws and other wood processing tools are necessary for wood fuel dependent living. I like how he demonstrates the versatility of double bit axes.
If you like double bit axes that much, you should search about Minoan Civilization. Double bit axes wasn't just their symbol, but a lot more than that. They probably used it as a symbol of power, as others used the lion in the past. They are one of the most ancient, most unbeleivably advanced and some of the oldest, civilaizations on Earth. They are my ancestors, from one of the most beatiful but surely most blessed, places on Earth, Crete Island of Greece! Here, we are all born with steel in our DNA. My parents used to say, that I was asking for a knife, since I was 2.5 years old baby, and until my 12 year, I already had a big knife collection. I still remember my grandfather, teaching me how to sharpen an axe! Double bits are awsome!!
Great idea splitting kindling by batoning down on the bit, I wouldn't have thought of that. I just won an auction on a 2.25 lb Plumb Cruiser head - my first. Can't wait to get it, haft it and bring it up to usable condition.
Awesome video on how to get the most out of a double bit axe! My personal favorite is still the pulaski style but you can't really go wrong with a good cruiser.
Very well thought out video and well presented. I'm in the process of building a double bit cruiser. Your video is inspiration. Thanks.
