I didn’t realize how nice a closed emitter was for concealed carry until I finally got one and it’s such a quality of life improvement. It’s not a factor to be overlooked

Great review! I have the 507k MRS and now the EPS Carry 6 MOA dot. I prefer the 6 MOA dot and I love being able to just wipe off the lens of the EPS Carry.

I've had the EPS Carry since November 2022. It's on my EDC M&P Shield Plus Performance Center. Great optic with solar backup and the Green reticle works better for my astigmatism. 50K hours is like 2 years. I leave it on auto-adjust and if the battery dies, it will still run in ambient or sunlight. I got it for $370 shipped.
Is the eps carry better for astigmatism vs the 407/507?

I have a 507 K because I wanted the smaller dot size. I prefer the simple dot w/o the circle. I carry my pistol almost every day and I’m here to say the brightness setting will affect battery life. My battery lasts me about 9-10 months. I suggest keeping one or 2 spares on hand because until you learn how long yours will last you don’t want to get caught with a dead sight when you need it. Change the battery before you expect to need to so you’re covered. Another reason to pick the smaller dot is because the dot can appear a bit larger as you increase the brightness, but the larger 6 MOA dot can’t appear smaller. I’m a fan of the closed emitter option but haven’t committed the funds yet. I have yet to have something obscure my emitter but I recognize it is a possibility.
Great video as always, I actually just picked up my own Holosun eps carry mrs I got mine in green love the color choice, I have yet to get to the range to site it in, I’ve been waiting to get hold of one since his release last summer and has taken me this long to get one as soon as it’s in stock it’s sold out, so I’m excited to use it on my P 365X macron (my EDC)🤗
I just got one at academy after waiting a year! Just wish it was green but it’ll do. A great addition to my daily carry.
Love the hockey tape on the grip. Been doing that for some time and I thinks it’s better then getting a stipple job.

I got an EPS Carry in the 6moa green dot. I like it. I've had the Romeo zero the last 2 years, and the EPS Carry is a nice improvement. The dot is very crisp and clear, the more durable enclosure and lenses is also a plus. I'm very pleased so far, only got it a few days ago lol.
You wouldn’t go back and get the 2 MOA if you could start over? Is the 6 really big?
@@luciengutierrez431 no I like the 6moa. Tbh it's not that much larger over a smaller dot. Like many things with pistols, it's very nuanced. I got the 6moa dot because I wanted something easy to pick up and I'm not a precision shooter so I'm not worried about accuracy. At the distances you'll shoot in a defensive scenario, it's a tack driver.
I've made several changes to my gun. Use a WC XL grip, weight kit, aluminum base pads, magguts +2 kit, extended mag release. I'll eventually add an extended slide stop, I shoot lefty so a little more ledge would be nice. I also just ordered a threaded barrel and comp to try out. I've noticed reduced recoil with the extra weight of my components, and I'm sure the tlr7 sub has helped with that some as well.

My 365X came with a Romeo0 which is like the stock Glock sights of the red dot world. I swapped it to a 407K after looking at the Trijicon RMR-CC. The EPS carry was not available yet when I swapped but I am interested. 407 k has worked very well but the build up of chips and queso/lint etc gets old quickly.

The only comparison I can think of is going to the beach and finding sand in places you had forgotten even existed when you get home.
I got one of the 6moa non solar ones from the first run that was available, I love it on my P365X. I did get the 507k for my wife as the ACSS Vulcan is available for that model, it is going to be mounted on her new P365XL Rose

I’ve had my EPS carry for about 4 months now. Mine is a red 2 moa dot. It replaced a 507k. I had a problem with the distortion on the 507k plus dust and sweat getting into it at work. Eventually I’ll replace the 407c on my 19 with the standard EPS.
I regulated the romeo zero to a 322.
My EPS carry is mounted on a 365x with a WC grip, PMM comp, and TLR7 sub.
That sounds like an awesome set up!
@@tessahbooth it’s pretty much replaced my g19. Carries very well in a Henry holsters ember.

@@d3ltaohniner261 very cool. At some point I’m going to get a second one intended for the macro/tlr7 sub. I plan on doing a grip chop to the macro frame to take it to a XL length (flush with the 12 round mags).
If the window is fogging up inside the ENCLOSED window then return it… it’s supposed to be water proof and nothing should get inside
I think it might be a potentiality of fogging on the *outside* due to sudden temperature change. I wonder if it's a vacuum seal...
The site claims water resistance, not water proof. Yes, fog is bad and unintended, but I see people dunking the thing for minutes, then complaining about it not performing as advertised. IPX6 water resistance rating. IPX7 can dunk up to a meter for 30 minutes, this is IPX 6, not rated for submersion.

Nice, just got mine today at psa for my p365x. Basic 2 moa green version. Did you direct mount it to your 365 (without included plate), and if so, did you use the screws it came with?
Anyone know if I need to use the mounting plate on my 365xl?
I have Romeo Zeroes on my Sigs. Neither are carried, so durability isn't really a concern. Both have performed very well for me. I have Holosuns on some of my other handguns, with good results there too. Should one of the Romeos fail, both will likely be replaced by an EPS, but I just want a dot, so I'll go with the less expensive variant.
I had a 507k on my 365XL and didn't have a dot on my 365X. I made my XL a Macro several months ago so I put a EPS Carry on it. I never used anything other than the dot on my 507k so I chose the green 6moa model. I sold the 507k and bought a green 407k and put it on my 365X to have the same dot. Loving both of them.

It was hard for me to tell in the video. How does the size compare to the 507k?
I have the EPS full size and it hangs over the sides of my pistol some, but I can’t tell at all while it’s holstered. Been carrying it for 3 months with zero issues.
What pistol do you have it mounted to?
@@LastGateFitness Hellcat, original size. I carry appendix and I CANNOT feel a difference between the EPS full-size and my previous Holosun 507k x2.

How well does the auto mode make adjustments? Does it work better than manual mode?
I have the Holosun 507K and Holosun 407K and love both of them. Don’t see a reason to upgrade right now but maybe the comparison will convince me otherwise. I only have the two guns that are optics ready though so I really don’t need a third. Will take some convincing LOL

Based on your reviews and others', I've ordered an EPS Carry Green 6 for my P365. I'm not a fan of appendix carry, so I'm trying out a Crossbreed Supertuck (a bit old school, I know) that I wear at 7:30 (yes, I'm a lefty) or at 11:30 if I decide to give appendix another go.
I'm a lefty too, I found appendix great, as in cross draw. Try it to the right of your zipper, the butt prints that way less too.

EPS carry is nice. But if you want the MRS dot option That is standard on the 507k x2 the price goes thru the roof and costs almost as much as the gun. A red dot newbie can get very confused if you don’t know which MOA you will like.
What size dot would be good for 25 to 50 yrs. ?
You can get them for much cheaper than those prices. I got my eps carry mrs (red) for $399.99 total price shipped.

I recently bought an EPS carry for my Hellcat Pro (works well with C&H precision plate) and I love it. How did you mount your EPS carry for the P365? I have a P365xl Spectre Comp and the EPS carry didn't fit in there by itself. Might buy another one to upgrade that setup as well if you can tell me how you mounted yours.
I have a sc comp as well, ordered the qvo tactical screws dropped right in directly without the plate. Still have to bring it to the range for zero in since I just got it a few days ago.

Why did you not get a green? I didn’t because I stumbled upon mine bought it sighted it and luckily it was everything I wanted but the green. In theory I’ll never find out why I should have bought green as it’s for shooting in daylight indoors so the red on max does the trick when the light overpowers (barely)

People say that if a light is behind you then the light's reflection can drown out your red dot. Is that true?
How is it for concealment? It looks a tad bit blockier than the 507K, did you run into printing problems?
I really didn’t notice a huge difference in concealment, but it is ever so slightly wider. I’ll definitely touch on that in the 507/407k vs. EPS-Carry video 😊
Do you use goon tape on your handle or is that just regular hockey tape?
Does this have same footprint as the 407k/507k? So can I just direct mount this to my Specte Comp or do I need some sort of adaptor.

I think they should make it more clear the EPS carry comes with everything you need to mount it to your gun. The 507k 407k DO NOT and this is the main reason i went with the enclosed emitter design is i don't have to go out and buy extra stuff to mount it AND its a enclosed emitter which makes it superior to the open emitter's mentioned earlier.

Love the EPS carry. Hate the solar gimmick. Just one more thing to go wrong, it is basically useless and just adds cost . As you noted i prefer the 6moa dot as well for CCW and snagged one for under $300 during Black Friday. My favourite carry optic hands down.

The solar panel does not charge the battery. Big misconception. It uses ambient light as a fail-safe if the battery is dead.
Fog matters in cold environments. ESPECIALLY because body carry amplifies the issue. Going quickly from a warm next to body womb into the cold is bound to cause issues.

Interesting note your Sig Romeo experience seems less than optimal, yet my Holosun vs Romeo experience is the opposite. My Sig battery yet to fail six months in, the Holosun however has eaten two batteries already in the same time period.

I was even tempted to swap from my 509t, despite needing to mill a different footprint, until I remembered I can just get taller backup irons. 😅

I moved to the RMRcc because of the lack of reliability the holosun provides. Its cost is definitely the most attractive thing and on paper it looks good but in practice, just too many issues to trust my life with it on an edc.

@@tessahbooth I’ve seen. Coming from an influencer standpoint: ‘what works for some might not work for all’ is the attitude you should have, considering you are trying to put the best info out there. Neglecting a viable option of carrying with a spare mag(if wanted) or even with a TQ in the mag carrier is no bueno. Crazy you went on to even go back to previous videos on IG to just state the fact that you are against them. Options are there, it’s another good option that doesn’t work for YOU.
To aid my point: uncle mikes soft holsters, serpa style holsters, sticky holsters, etc. are amongst the things you should ‘not recommend’. Sidecar style holsters are an option that works for some, doesn’t for others, so to ‘not recommend’ they even try themselves is not ok.
@@0Snare0Affair0 I don't think you are completely grasping why I don't recommend them. It's not because I simply don't like them, or because "they didn't work for me" it's because I think the design is inherently suboptimal. By not recommending them, and having a detailed video as to why, hopefully I can cut out a season of concealment struggles and potential holster cracking issues.
Viewers are welcome to watch the video and make their own personal choices, but based off of my experience helping several dozen people with their sidecar holsters, and having carried one for a year myself, I don't recommend them over the many other awesome options out there.

Again, it’s just no bueno to shut something out that works for a lot of people out there, that also probably watch your videos, who have carried sidecar style holsters way longer than a year. By ‘not recommending’ them, I get you think you may be saving people money, but it also works both ways. Say someone ends up liking a sidecar style holster over a regular holster and mag caddy, and they do so after already trying out what you recommended. It’s something you tell someone getting into concealed carrying: options. It’s another option that works for people, to which I’m sorry didn’t work for you, and the design(even though there are a ton of different designs of sidecars out there) is ‘suboptimal’ in your opinion.

If the battery has 50,000 hour life. Why change the battery every year? All channels say the same the , change the battery every year. I will go for at least 3 years and still two years under. If these optics really have that long then why not put it to the test? That would be a good video!
The advertised battery life isn't necessarily the mileage the typical user will get out of it. Changing it once a year is cheap insurance for a carry gun :)

If you change your batteries every year (4th of July for me and my safe), why bother with the solar gimmick. Let me elaborate. Take your batteries out and go try to use your Holosun outdoors in daylight. I’ll wait while you go “dammit you’re right it’s a gimmick”.
That being said I have an astigmatism so these fancy pants reticles mean nothing to me.
A simple dot, no solar “gimme more money” gimmick from Holosun China… keep it simple. Save some cash. Don’t be stupid. Give communists less American cash.
I’m on board with EPS and EPS carry. To me the extra reticles are worthless. The solar gimmick is worthless to anyone. Change your batteries on everything once a year. Done. I genuinely don’t understand why purchasing items not made in the US is such a big issue for some people, when those same people are buying their food, shirts, pants, shoes, socks, underwear, vehicles, and furniture from other than US based company’s.
EPS carry at freedom gorilla is $429. $460-$470 is the highest I’ve heard
Anytime I create videos like this I go strictly off of MSRP in order to be the most consistent. Rarely are items actually priced that high at retailers, but it provides me with the most fair comparison.
