I am an American and I live in Boston. First, I am profoundly thankful that I live in New England. I like to think of New England as a little walled in part of the nation that is home of reason, progression and movements that benefit the larger whole (maybe i'm a little self righteous too). Second, I think that more than half of the US population will fight with everything they have to ensure he doesn't destroy our country and potentially the world. I hope that the rest of the world will join us in that fight. As an American I am terrified. As a woman I am terrified. As a person that has consistently fought for equal rights for all regardless or race, religion, creed, gender, and sexual orientation, I am terrified. However, as an American I will unite with my neighbors and engage in a dialog in hopes of achieving common ground. I believe good will prevail. Good must prevail.
Fellow-American here! I'm from Missouri. I have to admit, I have a different point of view. The division we have seen in America is troubling, yes, but it is not new and it is not Trump's doing. People who want to be hateful and hurt others will always be looking for a reason to do those things, and those individuals need to be held accountable for their own actions. I've seen some terrifying things from Hillary supporters in the news the past few days, just the same as Trump supporters. Those are individuals that made a bad choice, I don't think either candidate would endorse that kind of behavior. It's easy to watch a video and assume that things are a certain way, we all do it, but maybe we don't have all the facts either. Most importantly, we have to remember that the American government was built with a system of checks and balances. The President is not our king, he does not have singular authority to rule over us. You're absolutely right, it's our job to band together with our neighbors and be involved in making sure our world is a better place tomorrow than it is today. Maybe it took this much worry for all of us to remember that it's not just our right to be involved in how our country is run, it's our responsibility as Americans. When I voted on Tuesday, I was troubled at the idea of either outcome...I think many of us agreed that neither candidate was ideal. But I reminded myself, 4 years is not very long in the scheme of Government timing. Things take time there, lot's of time. In 4 years, we'll have an opportunity to make a new choice, and let's all hope that our choices are better that time around! Regardless, it will always be up to the people to make our nation a great place.

She cares too much about the global economy and the success of Wall Street to even propose she wanted to go to war with Russia and Syria. That is just pandering to the fear mongers. @ Lindsay - I think we are largely on the same page. The only point I slightly disagree with is from an ability to effectuate change perspective. Sure, the President doesn't have unilateral control of the country. But, the President with a conservative majority in the house an senate does. Example, the likely appointment of a known anti-climate change advocate to his EPA transition team. Money is good and all. But it means shit when you let all the heat out of the earth. If anything, I hope this has inspired us to get more involved in local politics, advocate for for good, and engage in productive conversation for the betterment if the country. Ok - I'm stopping now. Let's not forget about Benghazi and the 4 Americans who were murdered, cattle prodded, and raped! The fact that Killary knew something was coming and did nothing about it is outrageous! Killary's lack of compassion is something that those families as well as any American with a conscience will ever forget!!!!!

You are correct reem, but I didn't write a mean comment (in fact I don't think it was mean just blunt) because she doesn't like Trump. Dislike and calling someone evil has a wide gap. My comment was on the exaggerations in the video and I'm not the only one with the opinion. I'm just over the bashing of politicians at the level it has gotten to. Plus, not much change in the hair I mean come on now. I'm sure Alix knew giving her thoughts on the election would bring some reactions.

carebearscooby I went from natural dark brunette to one tone lighter and 10cm shorter cut with layers and I honestly felt like I was wearing a wig for weeks. That was years ago of course ( since then I've gone from pixie to back length and all over again)but it was a funny feeling how a small change to everyone else meant so much to me. In essence what I'm trying to say is that to her is significant whereas to you maybe not as pronounced. I'm sure little changes on yourself mean more to you than what they do to others, think about it ;)

I am neither American nor British, which in my opinion doesn't matter. I am a human being and I feel the world in general is a more unsafe, divided and sad place since that man became the next most powerful man on this planet. I really appreciate the fact that you mentioned the results of this election, because this is too big of a deal and ignoring it, as some youtubers have, feels fake to me. No need to be exhaustive about it, which you weren't, but, if you have a heart, it is only natural to mention something that affects us all. To sum up, I just want to send you and everyone some love and hope, and say that we are stronger together. Love trumps hate.

Thank you for mentioning the election. I spent a long time campaigning for Hillary -- phonebanking, going door to door in 4 states within 6 months. I believe she's a phenomenal person who has dedicated her life to the service of others and should have been our next leader. I'm leaving college this year and heading into the unstable world of US environmental policy. These days I watch your videos as a break from reading case law and it means a lot to me that they exist. What you do is important and what you say is important regardless of what you do. Take care and never stop speaking your thoughts and lifting other women up.

Agreed. Everyone seems blinded by the fact you don't SERVE as a public figure as long as Clinton without making unpopular and incorrect mistakes. She is the MOST VETTED person to ever run for president and though VERY imperfect, she hasn't done anything worth prison (if she had the Republicans would have convicted her already--they try constantly with incessant hearings instead of, you know, making laws and governing). She has devoted her life to serving the US populous while the only thing Trump has served is himself. Additionally, to correct a comment below, she got more votes than Obama (votes still being counted in NY and CA that continue to increase that number). I also want to commend Alix for speaking her mind. Women should speak up as they feel and I've been disappointed by the shaming that they receive here on youtube and in the world at large. Isn't speaking up (even if you disagree) better than ignoring it for the sake of viewer- and sponser-ship?

If you want to talk about the news, go on. If you want to talk about politics, go on. I watch your videos because of the person that you are and not just because I like your style or make-up advice.

For all the Americans in the comments saying non-Americans don't have a right to an opinion. #1 that goes so far against the American value of free speech. Having a go at someone for having an opinion on politics is the most unamerican thing ever. #2 America's actions directly effect the rest of the world. America's economy went down 10 years ago and we had a GLOBAL financial crisis. America and the UK especially are massive allies too so it has huge ramifiations for the current war efforts too. Like this is not an election isolated to the USA, Americans are just lucky enough to have the privilege of voting.

What about Julian Assange, still a prisoner for just telling the truth, which one if these two candidates is really evil? Hi Alix, as a platinum blonde myself and an ex-lushette I'd really advice against using the Daddy-O shampoo. It is in no way nourishing enough for your freshly bleached hair and might make it extremely tangly and frizzy. I'd try to go with a brand like Redken or Tigi which not only will keep your color intact, but also make sure your hair stays healthy. Just a thought to keep your hairdo on point. :)

Thank you for mentioning the election...it has been a heartbreaking week for myself and many of my friends and family who felt like his win was half of the American people condoning racism, misogyny, and xenophobia. This is the first time in my life the outcome of an election has reduced me to tears. As you say, hope is so important at a time like this as is reaching out to those of different races, religions, nationalities who feel unwelcome in their own countries. If you haven't already, I recommend watching Hillary Clinton's concession speech - she is an inspiration.
Just for having the courage to speak your mind and kinda talk about politics I've gotta say I admire you! Keep that up! :)

The new hair color is lovely on you! If Joico is available in the UK, I recommend the Color Endure Violet shampoo and conditioner Sulfate-Free. They work well for maintaining lighter blonde tones.

natural91LC if I remember she spoke quite a bit about it on social media such as twitter. I voted to remain in the EU, however you shouldn't feel that way. A lot of people voted the way they did because of the "leave" campaigners tactics and lies. A lot of people voted that way because they genuinely feel that leaving the EU will be beneficial to the UK in the long run financially. I don't know either way, but it's happening now whether we like it or not. Personally, I was devastated. People from Europe such as yourself shouldn't take it personally as it was not intended in that way. I apologise that you feel like this because of our country's decision but promise that it was not done as a slight to the people of Europe as a whole.

Oof, I had a traumatic experience in that RUSH salon once a few years ago - went in for ginger hair, ended up with bright orange roots and washed out strawberry blonde on the rest. Glad yours went so well, clearly Josh is the one to see!

I've bleached my hair a ton too but finally touching the root to it was the most painful experience personally.. I wonder if it was bc my hairdresser had a rough hand. Anyway, that color and the cut turned out so beautifully flattering on ya!!
