Aman 1984, it was just like you spoke my mind. till this day i think its the best football video game ever. Pes4 and 6 are also top contenders, but on next gen consoles it is simply the best. I have all the other games and recently even bought Pes 2013 and Fifa 13 still this one gets more playing time then any other game in the house. If i could get the gameplay of Pes 2008 with the graphics of Pes 2009 and updated transfers and stats i'd be a happy man.
I remember when I was 11 years old, I slept with a ball and just that year I was national champion with the ideal 11 of my city, I lived all day playing soccer in the street and playing PES when my parents let me grab the PS2, my dream was to play it on PS3 and I never could until now that I have it on PC... I have dedicated many hours to it, the soundtrack is the best! many memories and it's a tremendous game... the only bad thing is that the community doesn't create patches like PES 2013 or PES 21... I remember christmas 2008, I went to the supermarket, on the eletronics section, and all the tvs there played this trailer and I went straight ahead for this game. It is weird how back then I looked at the trailer like it had very hyperrealistic graphics, like you'd see on a trailer for a modern PES or FIFA game
This game was fast pace, exhilarating and soo fluid in its game play, it was the perfect football game. Each footballer was unique along with their appearance and attributes. The fluidity of the game was the best. This was especially awesome as it came with counter attacking football. I don't know why they slowed the game play down and reaction time in the newer games. it's become more annoying.
pes 2008 is a great game with great graphics, this video shows the real graphics of the game, this is actually how pes 2008 looks.. i think fifa 09 will be better than fifa 08, specially graphics, but, if you dont want to spend money buying the 2 games, you have to wait for fifa 09..
the only thing Fifa had over PES was the graphics so now id say it is game over PES is the undisputed best on all accounts with the graphical upgrades.

Basically its Pes 6 with new engine, which mean fast, intense and thrilling gameplay. Pes 2009 and after tried to be more slow and simulation, but they lost all of this awsome thrilling and intense feel. Winning eleven 9 and Pes 2008 are the last known football games for those who seek speed, action, intensive and explosive gameplay.

Everytime i see this game or someone play it i remind me how bad the series is now. PES 2009 was better than this but this particular game was the last real PES game no matter what people say about its glitches. I prefer this to PES 2010 and 2011, even with glitches, at least the gameplay is good.
well whenever i see my goals hit the net it doesnt move and when it does move the ball moves out side of the net for a brief second but overall i say pro evo is better but you probably think fifa is better..
Seriously people, why must one game have to be better and the other one worth crap. I play both FIFA and PES and they are both excellent. PES goes for realism while FIFA goes for that fun thrill, quite-arcade style thing. I swtich between both games when one bores me (one because it can become frustrating and a bore fest from time to time and the other for lack of satisfaction)
