- i cant believe this is the first thing i upload here in years but omori has had me reeling for weeks. this is how i've tried to cope. i've also never made an animation like this before so um. uhhh. yeah. look at what this game has done this to me.
in more seriousness, i didn't think it would affect me as much as it did, but it has some really meaningful themes. self-forgiveness isnt something i see very often you know?
anyway! i hope you enjoyed watching this! i wanted to capture how the game made me feel so i hope it came across...

hello again! it's been almost a week since i finished this and i've been a little overwhelmed with how kindly it was received ; 7 ; ) if you've seen my twitter ive been floored at how this video single-handedly bumped my subs here past 1k haha. im really glad it could be enjoyed so far ;; i read everyone's comments and they make me really happy! i've included a lot of little details and references, and it amazes me that there's at least one comment for almost every single one, from hero distressing over the disaster cake, to the stranger confrontation; even the tv filter i put exclusively over the dream world segments was caught! you guys are so cool ; ~ ; ) i thought i'd talk a little bit more about my thought process now that more people have seen it!
so-- yes this video is supposed to represent the hikikomori route, sorry... q 7 q )b just like how headspace is so colorful and fun, i picked this song for the same reasons :> it's a bit impossible to separate this route from the overall heavy message it comes with, which is why ultimately things may still feel a little off and it ends on a slightly sad note. i still hope it was a fun experience to watch though! i felt a lot of the magic of the dreamworld ended up overshadowed by the truths revealed in the game, so i wanted to make a piece that could highlight how much fun headspace was, while still acknowledging its role in sunny's life. also, i did include a scene from the true route ( the violin ) mainly because the symbolism of it was too good to leave out;;;; i hope that wasn't too confusing..
anyway my comment is getting long augh. i just wanted to say thank you for watching my animation! this is the first time i've done something like this but i had a lot of fun, and everyone's warm responses motivate me to consider animating more, so thank you ♡

I love the double meaning of 'Never progressing past the first stage' as it both references the fact that headspace basically has been looping the same 'story' for years and the fact that Sunny refuses to admit what he has done so he never 'progresses' after what happened to Mari. Edit, I just noticed that this MV takes place during the hikikomori route.
Also it flashes to mari so ye he did not get over her death
Denial is also the first stage of grief, and in the hikkomori route Sunny denies what happened to Mari

@@mmienywell i don't think Kel is acceptance at all, he's like denial, since he himself says that he didnt understend what happened, so-- i Guess, how are you gonna go to the other phases if you don't even understend what happened? The most normal thing to do in this situation is to do/Focus on other things to not think to much about it (kinda like what Hero did with school, but i don't think it is a great example since Hero "knew" what happened while Kel didnt)
- Sorry if something is wrong, if you can give another proofs to show that Kel is acceptance then i'm here to hear it!

Agreed, the way how I got used to the meme ending after the scream and turning to black. I wasn't expecting it to continue, it was an experience like the meme part of the title was suddenly written out of existence by Omori itself.

@SunnySmile〈3 Instread of sunny winning the duel against Omori he gives up and let’s Omori take over since it’s the Hiki route Sunny never had a fight with basil which results in his suicide and which can be heard when Omori gets ready to leave to go to the city he sees the ambulance rushing past his moving van and as he walks to the car something follows him… he never speaks to his friends and most likely either doesn’t know of basils death or knew but suppresses it and that’s how the route ends

Remember Deeper Well's explanation about how Headspace has looped for a long time, with the Keys being shuffled and the truth coming closer to the stump each time? Well, another round of that, but it stopped working due to the move. So, now he's stuck having repressed all his memories, losing himself to Omori, and with Something always behind him... unless he knifes himself by accident
@SunnySmile〈3 Basically, the Hikikomori path is Sunny never having the courage to see the outside world again, not knock on the door with Kel, and Sunny looking at Omori and the Dream World as the only way to cope with the guilt. However, the more that Omori and Sunny are "fused" or in the same mindset of escapism, the more his guilt slips through the veil of the Dream World, eventually causing him to kill himself in one of the endings. It could also end in a more... neutral ending with Sunny able to move out, but never confronting his demons and letting them eat at his mind like Basil.
This is the only omori video that I've seen that has no suicide or self harm mentions while STILL having game spoilers. Applause

@@InsomniaGuy-ti8lc nah not at all, I'm simply commenting that the op must be more drawn to that side of at with most depressive games the Omori fandom is generally quite light and comedic therefore it is odd they have not seen much of this side of the fandom. DDLC and TBOI also have fairly fun and wholesome fandoms despite the dark games
Also honestly Omori has never struck me as quite that dark when compared to other games that touch upon simular topics. It's like, while the topic is dark the game isn't really "edgy:

the op's comment is about how since omori has themes that are pretty dark, it's quite difficult to create content with game spoilers that doesn't talk about those darker themes.
it isn't about if it's in a comedic way or not, but rather if the spoilers it introduces has dark themes.

On one hand, this is some top-notch animation, made even more impressive by you using the source material of OMORI to fit the context of the song and elevating it beyond its initially humorous tone. On the other hand, you have now given this song a depressing undertone suiting OMORI. All in all, great job.

Seriously, you did such a good job on this animation. I love the ending where Sunny falls asleep and it turns into him falling as Omori into the arms of his friend's outstretched hands in the dream world + plus the way his expression changes from that tired defeated look to complete blankness is just perfect. I can't tell you enough how much I love this.

Besides that though, holy crap! This animation and art/coloring is amazing, and has so much personality and character to it! I love 0:50 so much, as well as the part with all of the scenes throughout the dream world flashing by. So much fun to look at!

I love Basil collecting photos on the final scene. He doesn't appear at all at most of the video. It looks like, while all the others are "playing around" and Sunny isn't going to move on, he is still filling his role of trying to awaken Omori from this every-night dream

I don't think I can properly describe what's great about this.
I loved all the charming poses. I appreciated the repetition, the analogies, the scenery... The poses and text had humongous awareness and felt very fitting. The clear labelling of the route was appreciated and just saying it was great. Amazing job. Glad to be at least a small part of the community
I've watched a shton of RPG Animation memes, and out of them all this might be the best! I just love it so much but it's also so nicely done! The animation is on point and is very high quality especially the moment on 0:50 and it matches the original while having its own twist. Amazing!
I finished the game just yesterday and seen many fandoms with this song before, and so far this is my absolute favorite fan video for both Omori and this song! The way the lyrics take on a whole new meaning in the context of the game is genius!! I can't stop replaying the part from the chorus to the end!

Lots of nice animations have been made with this song, but the actual lyrics are about a group of friends who never actually finish a game: they just keep playing the same parts over and over again. It fits with OMORI'S plot better than most.
Also, Kel Flexing as the final attack is perfect.

Ok but I seriously love how it goes well with the game's many moods and tones, I would not have thought that the deep meaning of the game could've been brought up when RPG is such an fun and upbeat song, it really adds interesting interpretations with the lyrics!
And of course the drawings and animations are amazing, it's a wonderful piece of work!
The added touch of Hero ducking to avoid the cursor towards the start of the video is so awesome.

I really appreciate the detail at the end, in the credits section! The headspace background glitches into black space in the center, and into the traumatizing red background to the side, showing Sunny is still suppressing parts of his memory!

Why do these lyrics here fit the game so much?
Knowing the context of the game it would almost perfectly explain Sunny's thoughts before the Hikikomori route.
It even makes the outcome almost appealing if you put yourself in sunny's shoes.
I'm genuinely surprised that I haven't seen any comments about that part.
Edit: The more I think about it, I realize that the same for these lyrics could be said about Sunny's route. The lyrics just happen to be perfect, even if they were slightly modified to fit the theme better, it's still such a big coincidence.

watching this is kinda sad if you know the context. this meme gives the vibes of "the whole world is under our control, so we'll endlessly explore together because it's all a bunch of fun flashy colors" and thats really what headspace is like. but its all a distraction and eventually blackspace is stronger than everything else in sunny's mind. no way to accept the truth so he'd rather go back to sleep and spend time with his friends than find out what's happened to them in the last 4 years.
