Even better, if you have any relatives that have twins, sell them too! They are just spare parts and no one will notice! This will get you ~500pts of models.

To me the most important aspect to enjoying Warhammer is to play with a good group of people who are good sports about all aspects of the game. If you play with cool people, you will always have fun; if you play with jerks who are only concerned about their win or engage in toxic behavior, you will always have a bad time.
Love your comment, it's absolutely spot on, unfortunately my opponent's were some of the worst types which was off putting but I got away from them and better now 😀
I play casually at my lgs as well as taking part in their league and tbh I think it's really fun to play a properly competitive game that you're trying to win but I also enjoy the more relaxed casual games
My suggestion is to make absolutely sure you even have a 40K scene to engage with before getting too deep, if that's important to you. I first got into 40K and ass-deep into lore and painting and such during lockdown with the intention of collecting and playing proper games once places opened back up. Living in the middle of nowhere, I only have one viable option of game store over an hour away, but I knew the people played 40K. Once I got there, I discovered my local scene to be far less inviting than expected. When I wasn't ignored outright, conversations were minimal and brief, and asking any kind of beginner questions just got me shuffled off to someone else for a begrudging half-answer. I went back a few times just to watch and it seemed no one was actually having any fun at all - just apathetically rolling dice with a sigh, mumbling out stratagems for their unpainted models, and bemoaning the latest FAQ. I didn't go in expecting Dice Check or Play On camaraderie or whatever, but this was entirely joyless and depressing. So now I'm stuck out here in my Nowheresville cow pasture with a year of fan-brain built up and no one to actually play it with. I've been trying to shift my perspective around to focusing on the arts & crafts aspect more instead of the gameplay, but I can't deny I felt rather foolish.
May I ask where you live Brother? Supposedly not in Germany right? Otherwise If you live in the West of Germany we can meet up at a store near to you and Play.✌🏼
My general rule: for new things you're excited for or centerpieces, splurge. Or if you want to help out your lgs Everything else, second hand. Or at least online at great discount. This game should be about the game, not about comparing wallets.
In Australia we have the worst of both worlds, the community is often so small that you can't get what you need second hand, especially not for cheap, and buying it new is more expensive here than anywhere else :/
Just a note, that second hand built/painted models not always be the best value if you interested in the model and painting, you get some discount, but you often have to spend time on removing paint and fixing it, so pay by your time So always consider model state and how you want to use it and time required to fix it, especially for cases where it's only marginal discount
1. If you want to start a new army. You don't need to buy the whole army. Divide the boxes between 12 months. You will need time to assemble and paint anyways. And the rules will change as you are building so it gives you the ability to change up some of your purchases as you go if need be. 2. A self induced monthly allowance for purchases. If you want bigger things then buy less that month and pool the leftover with the next month. 3. Kill Team to test the hobby part of 40k. Even if the game rules are now different from 40k, it gives you a taste of assembling, converting and painting models without being overwhelming. And gives you a sample of the difficulties in storing and transporting them as well. Just be careful, it's very easy to go down the rabbit hole of 20+ teams and be unable to afford 40k or worse, invest heavily in both, without planning too.
@@corbingovers7559 Unfortunately, 500 pt games tell you very little how an army plays since your list and your opponent's are so skewed. It's really only useful for learning the rules, phases and how sometimes one side just randomly dominates based on matchup. For a strategy game intro, those aren't very good examples.
Although if you can afford to shell out that much money at once, a full army on the aftermarket usually provides the biggest discounts (especially if that faction had just been nerfed), then you can just supplement it with a few more boxes over time.
Word of advice for beginners: Play the army you want, not what's Meta. I started with Chaos Space Marines back in early 7th Edition simply beacuse I liked their look and lore. Just have fun with the hobby!
Fully agree. Rules come and go, the looks and lore stay. If you pick an army just for its competitive rating, there is a high chance that it won't be as competitive as earlier by the time you finish it, while if you pick one based on its looks the models will always be as cool as when you put them together
In the time I've been painting my admech they've gone from meh to omg OP to meh again. Meta chasing won't work unless you've got the money to commission the painting too. I'd also reccomend having a slow grow side army so that when your favored faction becomes oppressive you have something to play casual games with
I would recommend setting an achievable target for yourself, and find a friend to take the journey with you. for example, give yourself a target of attending a doubles tournament in a year's time with a friend. 1000 points is a far less daunting than 2000 and you'll have someone to play games with along the way. Otherwise, don't stress about the quality of paint jobs ( no on e really cares) , or buying specific terrain. I played on a sheet of plywood, with polystyrene or card inserts from electronics as buildings, Tin cans as storage tanks (sharp edges filed down of course), Mushroom punnets as bunkers and seed casings from trees as alien flora. I played on this board for years, and still use some of the terrain 15 odd years later, even having a fair few bits of official terrain.
Agreed, me and a bunch of other teenage friends who’ve recently began our warhammer journey are currently using spray painted coke boxes and toilet roll paper to make factories for our spray painted wooden board
Yeah i am totally new into hobby with just little over month since i purchased first box (command edition). Later i also purchased around 2000 pts worth of figures (yeah im that guy😂) and i do already have a few tips for new guys like me.. 1. Don't buy only at gamesworkshop, it's always best to google kit you want and at least here in UK there are a few shops with nice discounts like Zatu games for example where you can buy stuff with even 30% discount. 2. it's worth to visit warhammer shops as the staff is nice and friendly (at least in cambridge) and they will teach you how to play! 3. If you buy 2nd hand stuff on ebay or facebook, have a closer look on the quality! I assume some guys dont use sprue cutters and some figures came really chipped or with missing parts. 4. Chose your army carefully as Auspex said in previous videos, get something not just because its "the best" as things change anyway, but something that you will also enjoy painting or reading about. 5. Watch some good painting tutorials 6. Join your local club ( i unfortunatly dont have any here in Ely, cambridgeshire, but maybe we will start one!) 7. and last, Watch Auspex tactics! And don't watch "Discourse miniatures" channel because her every video is just complaining and you don't want that toxicity in your 40k journey 😎
I was going to suggest to delve into Kill Team first rather than 2k points of 40k but after your first sentence I see I'm a bit late! Hope you are having fun building and painting all those points though, cheers!
Don't know what you mean by chubby girl (don't recall any warhammer youtuber fitting her description) but another I'd avoid is commissar gamza. He's one of those "sjws are ruining the world!!!!" Types from 2016 that still holds that attitude.
although it's a decent bit extra paperwork, my friends and I absolutely love Crusade and it's been an easy way for us to introduce more people into the hobby. Mind you most of my friends are RPG fans and Crusade really hits that itch but it's def something worth checking out and it's pretty much designed to start you off small and slowly build up your minis
Ive been wanting to play 40k for literal decades but ive been put off by all the requirements just to get your foot in the door. Like the codexs the rules the field manuels. Then my buddy said think of it moreso as a a model painting thing and the game is secondary just pick one faction and start painting from them eventually youll have an army sure it wont be competetice but itll be enough to get started and you can upgrade it over time. It gave me a bit more confidence to start collecting
Starting in the middle of 8e, I was told 'pick the models you want'. I chose CSM, built up a collection, and have had a miserable time with the faction. 40k as a whole, love it, hobby is great, I've played other factions on TTS and had a blast. It's okay to be a hobby first player and pick what you want, but I think that it's important for people who want to care about the game, pick a faction that isn't a huge trap. To some extent, you can't really trust GW to balance the game, and you have to play with what exists. If an army just got its codex, and is already showing severe weaknesses, it's not safe to assume that GW will fix the problem. I forsee the 9e Orks book to go the same way the 8e CSM book did, as an example. It's hard to really get a bead on the meta before you start playing, but some of the balance problems are so bad, and last so long, that some army choices could easily lock a gameplay focused player out of the game, especially if it's their first army. Building up to 2k with your first faction is one thing, but realizing that you don't like the playstyle, and seeing the pricetag of re-rolling to another army, is one of the worst feelings I've had in gaming, ever. Armies that have core edition fundimentals down, with a current edition codex, that don't lean too heavily into supplement books, seem to be really solid bets. It can be up to 5 years before a real stinker of a codex gets updated in a meaningful way, and that sucks. If you are a gameplay first new player, make sure the units you want to use are actually good, for the next handful of years.
This is insightful and fair but the reason I tell people to pick up cool shit is we have no idea what's gonna be good by the time you have a full 2000 points painted. Things swing to fast. Who knows what's gonna be good for the next few years. I play orks and ork Boyz are bad now. The boy, the most bedrock army unit is bad now. Yes think about the general style of play you think you want to play before you start too. But idk how you recommend strong units. Luke if you started orks in 9th I'd tell you to buy squig buggies and they are terrible now. If you slowly collect what you like your guaranteed to have stuff you think is cool. Idk it's a problem for new people for sure though.
@Jon Doe lots of resell groups on Facebook to recoup some costs. That box has a lot of solid models. What kinda army do you think you want to play? Do you wanna shoot or fight? Do you like the idea of lots of models covering the battlefield or do you wanna do some hero hammer and when In total doubt, fuck it custodies. Cheap and easy to paint with solid rules.
I don't play or collect 40K, but just following this channel for the last couple of years, I have seen Kings fall to Paupers, and Paupers become Kings. I would NEVER recommend chasing wins, unless you don't want money. Everything changes on a month to month basis, it seems. If I ever start, I will only collect what I think looks cool.
I collected GW's Lord of the Rings as a kid and I've watched 40k gameplay videos/battle reports for a couple of years (and, as a lorehound, I've been reading 40k lore and media), but I just now ordered my first 40k miniatures. I play (though really I mainly paint) plenty of mini games (Star Wars: Legion/Armada/X-Wing, Marvel: Criss Protocol, Cthulhu: Death May Die, A Song of Ice & Fire) but haven't dove into any GW games as an adult. It's exciting to finally get some 40k models to build and paint and play.
I have to say...if you want to play knights...please magnetize. Right now with how the kits are sold (with all options in box) it just makes sense because you're going to need ONE dominus class in an army, 2-3 questorus patterns, and fill the rest with armigers. Which arms will you'll be using will change overtime and you really don't want to have to spend 170 more bucks because you put a battle cannon instead of a thermal cannon. Just arms really need magnetization (hull guns are pressure fit, same largely with carapace weapons). But seriously it'll save you lots of money.
I love how we accept GW's irritating, anti-customer behaviour, as a "force of nature" or a "fact of life" that cannot be changed...seriously, GW, please stop being greedy.
@darkhabsburg I'd argue that for the long term, customer loyality can bring in more profit that anti-customer behaviour in the short term. But of course, not many companies realize that.
Business have to follow business rules to stay successful. Prices rising? Is it GW being greedy or the inflation that is currently going on affecting how they operate as well as anything that may have slowed them down due to what some people called a pandemic. Rising price of fuel affects shipping costs. People not returning to work, or everyone thinking unskilled labor needs to be paid like they have a skill. All these things affect how they operate. I wouldn’t go there greedy right off the bat!
@@maugetar9340 yep that s right but to be fair, internet is a big problem here. I mean, how do you expect player to be responsible when they buy or to think more about a long term project and what they find cool or nice looking to field, when all they see on internet, youtube, etc ... is about what is the best in the meta and the last trend. Honnestly auspex vid are nice and all, but him as all provider of review, etc ... contributes to this problem. As they emphazise almost only on the last unit and codex going and push uncousciously their viewer to follow those trend ...
My main tips: Buy and paint one box at a time. Improve your painting skills by watching channels like Marcos or Squidmar. Play with a small army before expanding. Start out with a kill team or 500 point patrol. If you don't like the army, resell your well painted army for a profit. Err on the side of style over meta. Meta changes but rule of cool doesn't. If you love your miniatures, you'll want to play with them more even if you lose. Nothing is worse than buying, building and painting a bunch of overpowered units only for them to become nerfed and worthless.
Marcos And Emile are not good starts for mini painting, they go for a very high standard of mini painting not helpful for beginners or people who do things at a tabletop level. People like MidWinterMinis, Dana Howl, or EonsofBattle are much better for a general dive into the aspects of the hobby people will get into.
@@oliverp3545 I'd argue that jumping into the deep end is the best way to learn. Sticking in your comfort zone leads to stagnation while trying (and failing) at more advanced techniques leads to building skill over time. Trying something from Marco's videos with every new paint job has taught me more in 6 months than the whole rest of the five years I've been in the hobby
Here's a tip that works for me: if you don't already, start listening to podcasts. Find one you really like. But ONLY listen to it while painting. You'll quickly find time to paint, when it's as much in service of listening to the podcast as it is with painting. Funnily enough, I've never had much luck with listening to 40K battle reports this way. There's a lot of what goes on with a game of 40K that cannot be conveyed unless you're looking at the footage as well as listening, and paying a great deal of attention. Meaning whenever I try, I end up losing track of what's going on in the game. The game just becomes a lot of white noise. A podcast, by contrast, is much easier to follow even if you're also doing some repetitive task, like driving, exercise, or painting minis.
On balance: Yes, there will always be a top dog, this will always be true. The unfortunate reality of 40k right now, is that the business model is deliberate imbalance. While most games would aim for having all the various factions as close in power level as possible to one another, GW deliberately unbalances the game to sell models.
@@Keplaves Not really. 70% of their revenue is from 40k; it makes sense they overbalance that to make cash. It’s fucked up, but its the truth of what they do.
@@Catterjee that's because there's a type of gamer called the whinger. The ones that complain about every single detail of the hobby they are obsessed by. The whinger was around 25 years ago and still is today.
I have 10k of very flexible Space Marines that need building, but I'm spending my time assembling my Tyranids and Brood Brothers (their inhouse opponents) instead. Who have very skewed lists. It's weird because it would take far less time to assemble the marines and get playing. Too many options to build them I guess, a bit frozen on what to build first. Where as I know what to build for my Tyranids and Brood Brothers down to every point.
75% Profit margin for GW in 2021 3% Profit Margin for Wal-Mart in 2021 It really upsets me they can't just make it more affordable to get into the hobbie. You gotta be a Legit "Addict" to do what we do collecting, building, painting, playing & Learning
The problem is self-induced: GW's main selling point to investors is that profit margin. The problem being that profit margin is also the reason people are being pushed out of the hobby, which requires prices to go up to make up for the short fall in sales, which drives further people out, and the spiral continues. It's also why they're so pushy about selling starter sets, trying to turn young Timmy into a plastic crack addict so mum and dad's wallets are tapped instead. The real problem for GW is that the middle class is slowly dying, with wage suppression having been a thing since the 70s, which is why they're currently trying to branch out as far as possible into areas they haven't normally been seen in: Sticker albums, and collectors toys, etc... They know the real value is in the IP, and if they want to survive as a company, they'll need to push into mainstream media and become the British equivalent of Star Wars in scope and within popular culture.
I like shopping from ebay a lot. There's a lot of 3rd party stores selling off their excess stock at a sharp discount. It's surprisingly easy to get a box at a good price, often better than my in person local 3rd party store. Best deals are from the UK but the shipping is so outrageously expensive that American 3rd party stores charging more are usually cheaper.
I started this hobby back in October 2021. I highly advise to speak to your local Warhammer shop if you do want to do any Games Workshop games. They can guide you in the right direction, I buy a few things in there as they have been super helpful and enthusiastic but I do prefer buying online and my flgs as I can find things at a discount. Also I can't recommend enough going down monthly and picking up the "Mini of the Month", it is free and you can paint them and test new skills out that you can then work into your future projects! I've so far bought, built and painted: - 1.5k of Death Guard - Kill Team Octarius Box - Sisters of Battle for KT (10 Sisters box) I started with 1 box of Plague Marines.
Great video, even if you accidentally put something else on your Buying Tactics slides than "splurging on painting supplies and multiple armies while leaving it all on sprues in anticipation of the Long Grey Plastic Winter". I know what you meant.
Number one: Unless you go in there with the mindset of a collector that will accumulate a lot of (hopefully oop) boxes that yoj know you probably ever open, DO NOT overbuy, especially when you are brand new because odds are that YOU WILL NOT ever have the time to get all that tabletop ready before you either realize you do not like the army or the game as a whole.
19:00 When I shoot with my Dreadknights I roll different coloured dice for both their guns at the same time but I say I'm shooting with the psycanon (red dice) first before I roll. Particularly on tabletop sim it can save a lot of time, and the opponent has more information so I don't see why it would bother them.
I think as long as you’re more into the hobby aspect and the spectacle of it all plus hanging out with friends over playing a video game, you can’t go wrong with the game. I just love the game from that standpoint
BEFORE YOU READ: Just read if you have a bit of time on your hand, its quite a long comment and a little bit of topic... buuuut this community seems so helpfuls and Im interessted in your thoughts (sorry for typos) Hey guys Im somewhat new to the game and just completed my first 500 pts of necrons. I dont rly know ppl in my town who play 40k so I want to build a second 500 pts army so I can play with friends. But I cant decide on my second army, for contention are: Druhkari, Thousand sons and Black Templars. I explain further and am greatful for any input. While painting Necrons I noticed that i rly enjoy to put a lot of work in to a few Models instead of painting 10 necron warriors with lower standards. I also enjoyed edge highlighting and details like the glow effects and stuff. A low modelcount sounds appealing to me for ingame (loved a battlereport i watched where a few custodes tanked everything, absolutly badasses). and to creat my own story of my minis about an uprising archon or a black templar how climbs the ranks or gets chosen to be the Emperor Champion. My pro and cons this far: Druhkari: I love vampire and pirats, so thats a huge plus. I dont rly like Vehicles in warhammer 40k (sorry guard =( ) but the open deck pirat ships of the druhkari are certainly an exception. ( A bit of a Minus is that I dont rly enjoy torture scenes in Movies (like GOT or similare). I rly like the potential combination possibilitys with Harlequins and Ynnari and that there are pretty much 3 armys in one with the druhkari. Gameplaywise: Hitting rly hard with a few badass HQs sounds great and I like a bit of tactic as well but Im not sure if its fun to play a 500 pts game with rly new players vs Necrons or of a more straight forward army would be better (more fun) in such games. I would paint them with bretty much just Edge highlights black armor and a few details so that sounds neat but they can be easily in the 50+ models for a 2000 pts army, so not realy elite. Black Templar: Gothic knights in Black armor sounds great I rly want to turn my BTs into Rose Knights (for some reason I like the contrast with rly dark and grim Knights with rose and pink shoulderpads). They are more elite and I love that you can give every squad a theme and a bit of character by giving them relics. I love the Honor and a bit fanatic theme and the resulting fighting style of charing heads first into battle. I love there uniq units especially the sword brothers. Edge highlight and low modelcount sounds great. There biggest downside is that they are part of codex space marine. I dont rly care to much for the standard and codex complient spacemarines so I dont rly want the Codex, but i know i Needed if I want to play the army (and it drops so often so I would have to buy one every year). And I rly dont like the spacemarine Tanks and other vehicles (except dreadnoughts) I am afraid that I cant rly play my army when a new codex Spacemarine drops and the meta shifts. Thousand Sons: I dont rly care for Chaos toooo much but like tzeenche and to lead a troop of elite sorcerers in Power armor that are somewhat mutatet with a bird theme is realy appealing. To have daemonic rly big models like the deamon prince and magnus sounds great. gameplaywise i never played ith a lot of magic but I think I could enjoy that you can unleash devestating power against your opponent (and with a smale chance against yourself ;) ) . The biggest downside is that im dont rly know If i enjoy painting them because you dont edge highlight a lot, but the hole model is detail (but they are by far the most elite army out of this 3 so thats a plus) and I will enjoy painting magnus 100%. But other then that they can be very similare looking with not a hugh specific model range to back them up (normal chaos models like Hellbrutes and stuff is okay but not realy my jam). A counter argument is that they are pretty similar to necrons in a way that the troops are somewhat mindless automata and are lead by intelegent and powerful masters. and even the aegiptic theme is pretty similare. So I would try to make them a bit less aegiptic with diffrent color schemes. I am a bit less scared for the to be vehicle realiant because a lot of magic and landraiders are pretty good for them right now and I still see a lot of list without any. sooo uiuiui soory that was a lot of text I appreciate if you made it this far and am interessted in your thoughts.
Hey, i still think black templars might be the best option. If you just want to play with a friend, you don't have to know all the rules. Try to find a leaked sm codex and black templars supplement and write down important rules, stratagems, WL traits etc. Drukhari are propably too strong in small size games and if you try to paint perfectly, thousand sons can be a real pain. (I own 2000 points of nearly just rubrics and terminators) I also think black templars vs necrons would be a cool matchup. Hope it helps
@@joshuagraham5422 hey yeah that's really helpful. Are druhkari too strong in 500pts lists because of their hit and run tactic and that the opponent doesn't have the Numbers or speed to catch them?
@@admiralfujitora4376 drukhari are cheap in points so they have more models and they're quite strong atm compared to necrons. Their transports can be a pain in smaller games because you don't run a lot of anti tank units in 500 point games
If you have a good group of People learning how to play for the first time I found it helpful to simplify the game a bit by excluding secondaries and just counting primary objective scoring at the start of command phase, along with setting up a simple map, it gives you a good sense of how the game is played before adding some more complex things (actions, scoring secondaries). Then later when you group is ready you could move onto playing more full games.
One tip I would add, find out if your army has a large forgeworld component, ahem custodes, and if they do decide if the resin tax is worth it for your army.
Oh, oh wow. I don't know Tyrannids too well so I was wondering if the, "Termangant", name was a coincidence. But, now seeing that there is a, "Harridan", too ...
My first set of proper 40K minis were some older Dark Angels models from, like, 4th or 5th edition. But you can honestly get even cheaper by going with 2nd or 3rd edition. They're not amazing in detail or posability, and you'll be limited to Firstborn, but you can't beat the prices. Probably the army with the most third party proxy potential is Imperial Guard. As while many armies have alternatives in resin, Guard-alikes can often be found as plastic kits for far less per model. Places like Anvil Industry and Victoria Miniatures are good for getting specific bits or getting custom squads, but they're not much better than GW if you're buying in bulk. Not like plastic models on a sprue. My go-to suggestion for Guard is, of course, _Wargames Atlantic._ They have a whole range of kits specifically built to sub for Guard, including a number of defunct Regiments. But they've also got plenty of Historical minis, ancient and modern, that can be retrofitted into Guardsmen with the right parts (or used as-is, if they already have guns). WA happen to also sell an upgrade sprue of laser rifles and other bits, for precisely this purpose. However, any Historical minis company can serve this same purpose. Warlord Games, Mantic Games, Perry Miniatures, etc. This also applies to proxying for Age of Sigmar, as any pre-modern culture's armed forces could could as Cities of Sigmar. Men with spears or swords or bows work just as well, regardless of geography or era. Back to 40K, the Guard can be pulled from many planets, with their own local culture. It makes way more sense for some to look like Romans, Celts, or Three Kingdoms Chinese than it does for all Guardsmen to look like Cadians. Plus, when you arrive at the gaming table, most folks who aren't poisoned by GW fanaticism will appreciate that your guys look significantly different. If for no other reason than variety and creativity. You get to come up with really divergent backstories for your army, too.
On the hobby side, I'd add trying out oil paints as something everyone should do. The need for white spirit is annoying and drying time can be excessive if you do a thick layer but they solve almost every frustrating property of acrylic paint. It took me about a week to figure out how the oil paint behaved compared to acrylic but I've switched entirely to oils since
The magnetization tip is SO big. I just started collecting this year, and I’ve been magnetizing a lot. It was really intimidating at first, but I’ve come to really enjoy doing it, actually! I just hate getting super glue on my fingers.
Number 1 tip. Ebay Ebay Ebay. I've saved hundreds by getting models on discounted prices. It requires patience but to truly worth it. Why spend 35 pounds on a single intercessor squad when I can get it for less than 20 quid?
if you're serious about the hobby the best advice i can give is get a 3d printer. me and a friend saved up some money to split the cost of a really good couple of them and now all we spend money on is cheap plastic/resin for in the printers and any files that are for sale. rules are online so no need to buy any books. cant use those models and pirated rules at official gw places like the gw stores, but ive not had any problems using them at 3rd party retailers and hobby stores with room for tabletop games. and my friend and used the money we didnt spend on gw to make amazing mdf terrain, we both took lessons with computer drawing programs to design it and have it cut out for us. yes we did for real save enough money to start a small local business selling our own designed mdf wargaming terrain and 3d printed minis. and thats honestly just from money we would have otherwise spend on gw xD
Ebay is always hilarious to me as an option. It is never cheaper than buying from a 3d party retailer, and unless the models/paintjob is absolute shit, then the prices + shipping are ridiculously unaffordable.
You cannot buy intercessors for 20 quid until they are built and probably shitty painted and good luck if it is some thin layer of Citadel paint, not some shit over spray of car paint Usually built, not painted models is the best deal, but still you can get some outrageous examples of terrible assembly I bought many models from ebay, but it's not what I would recommend for beginners, probably only if Though, if you live in UK it's for sure better, because of the amount of stuff available and relatively cheap delivery
The number one reason I switched from 40k to Kill team is I can (and do) have 6 Different Kill teams from 4 different factions and it lets me pick a little of this and a little of that to scratch my hobby itch. 1: Tau Compendium 2: Tay pathfinders 3: Deathwatch 5: Chaos Marines Compendium 4: Tyranids 6: Chaos Marines Legionaries.
Becomes friends with somebody who can 3d print stuff for you is fantastic. Generally once you get to know people you will get discounts and freebies and you can send more people their way as you can vouch for their work
I think the point about getting things looking good on the table is important. I'm painting 5 armies, my fiancee's chaos daemons, marines and knights, and then my tyranids and necrons. All the chaos gets the most work and is absolutely beautiful. But I don't have time to paint my tyranids and necrons with as much effort. For my tyranids, I made a simple scheme that uses a lot of dry brushing. My Swarmlord maybe took two hours compared to some of the Chaos Marine HQs taking at least 5. But you know what? In-game both armies look about as good!
Look for used, not finished figures or whole boxes. Some people tend to get rid of their stashes. Yesterday i baught a 'Start collecting Astra Militarum' still packed for 43 EUR from a pawn shop :/ If you see something very cheap, which you might use and is simmilar to your centerpiece buy it and practise on it. Then practise using the paint remover on it :)
When i was learning 40k lore originally i was super interested in the death korps of krieg but after I looked around and learned the game a tiny bit i found i like the playstyle of the grey knights and i like their lore about as much as the krieg. So my first army i make is gona be a 1000 point grey knight army since thats what me and my other buddies had decided
I'll chip in here as well because I hope Auspex reads this. It's a very easy fix and would improve the viewing experience. The volume disparity on ad breaks is like a punch to the face when you have headphones on.
A perfectly timed video for me! I've been very keen to get into the game, painting up models and meeting people to play against IRL.TTS has been a wonderful tool for getting to experience armies, it led to me discovering a faction called: Black Templars, who are religious zealot Space Marines who prefer to smack their enemies rather than shooting them! In particular I love the way a Black Templars Primaris Chaplain on Bike looks and plays, the guy zooms around the table singing brutal hymns and whacking things with a glorified religious stick XD I want to start with him and maybe the Black Templars Combat Patrol Box, though I'd love to get the Sword Brethren Squad too, they may be a bit squishy from the 3-4 games ive played them, but they just feel really cool, like Assault Intercessors on steroids!
I am relatively new to Warhammer. For me the biggest issue is absence of guides. All that i can find about painting is just videos about how skilful painter paint that model i search... that's nice, but i m no artist, i cant repeat it. And playing guides all like "you throw a dice, you move, he moves, then you fight" that's all folks. No stratagems, no artifacts, no army composition...other variant is a brief faction exploration, which leaves you in darkness about other aspects. I come to WH because i love it s LORE, especially Imperium. But wast rules that i can explore only buy myself is pretty daunting perspective. That puts new players in auto-loose stance as you just don't now what your opponent could take out from a sleeve. I can avoid big prices with different markets, i can ignore that my faction is not best, but i can't avoid being in darkness...and that actually makes me afraid actual playing.
When it comed to painting you need to find some good channels that will teach you solid basic, Ducan Academy, Miniac and Ninjon or Gubbertown are good at explaining the basics. For the gameplay (especially the whole army building side) the best I can recomand is to check wahapedia and read. Its not sexy, but its the best way to learn.
I would also add that there are many ways to play Warhammer 40k, while some enjoy small scale combat patrol games, others may enjoy 10k+ point apocalypse scale games. Likewise, you can play standard matched play which is typically the basis of tournament play, or if you care more about the story of the universe like myself, you can play a more narrative based game, even chaining multiple together into a crusade where your units gain or lose traits based upon what happened to them in the prior game. You also don't have to play a canon army either, you can make your own custom Space Marine Chapter, Chaos Warband, Ork Waagh!, etc. There are a lot of options in 40k.
Something I really recommend for people who enjoy painting their minis is to not buy any new models until you finish painting the ones you already have. Having a pile of shame full of unfinished minis is a common problem in the hobby, and can kill motivation to start painting your minis.
It's been a struggle, not just buying more models to add to my pile. Do I really need to buy a Rhino, when I still have a squad of Terminators to paint? Do I really need another 10 Kabalites, even at a discount, when I've only primed one set of ten (on top of the rest of the Drukhari models in the pile)? The struggle is real. Especially when most of my purchases come from a used model seller that gets a constantly shifting supply of specific minis. Sometimes for really good prices. (It's where I got all my 40K models, for cheap).
I started In 9th with wahpedia and 24 marines with a lot enamel painted on them and started to get more official models and armies until I have an actual army and I am stripping the old marines
I just wanna collect minitures to paint and make MOC battles with terrain for displays can you make a video based on mostly aquring minis terrian and painting
Careful with Facebook market place, I’m now in a dispute with a guy as he didn’t send what was purchased. Thank goodness I was home with delivery man arrived so I refused package and PayPal goods and services is a must. Now I have a trade where my stuff got to the guy sent him photos of package with USPS labels on it and tracking number. Took him two weeks to say mine where on the way no photos no tracking. So we’ll see!!!
If you’re planning on playing the game, make sure the way your models are put together in a legal way. My first tactical marine set had a whole bunch of illegal stuff because I took rule of cool too literally.
I really wish I could support the channel and buy from Element Games here in the States! I still haven't managed to find an equivalent retailer for the US... I do need to say that I would advise against magnetizing for new players for CERTAIN kinds of units. In short, if a new hobbyist feels comfortable with the tools then magnetizing big units like Knights and tanks is a great idea, but smaller units might not be as rewarding. My first army was T'au, and while I was mechanically skilled enough to drill and place magnets, the result was a bunch of uninspiring, bare Crisis Suits with a discouragingly large number of fiddly bits that kept rotating around and looking silly. My magnetization time was much better spent on the Riptides and larger models I picked up, where they fit flush and looked great, and didn't move around... but by the time I figured that out, I was already in a hobby burnout from all the work the Crisis Suits took. I discovered that letting the perfect be the enemy of the good not only hurts painting, but also other parts of the modeling hobby. If I could do it again, I'd have built the Crisis Suits and Commander statically, and let the ebb and flow of the Codexes tell their tale. :)
@@qwer9676 It's a darn shame for me! Seems like most of the good miniatures games creators I know of are in the UK. Thanks for the recommendation! Any discount is helpful for sure.
Landraiders, repulsors, storm ravens and the like that have schizophrenic purposes (carrying guys and heavy weapons) and usually a waste of money and points and will just eat every high strength shot on your opponents turn and do fuck all or not much. Bear in mind Rule of Three and generally it’s not a good idea to collect more than two of any given kit for non horde armies. Assault intecessors are pretty cool, but Blood Angels used to have assault marines as troops and now they aren’t. Scouts used to be troops until GeeDub saw everybody having minimum sized squads as troops. “Inexplicably” they’re now in the highly contested elites slot. The future of Firstborn is always going to be in question so limit your firstborn kits. You don’t want to be like the Deathwing or Ravenwing collectors/players who got fucked over until recently. It’s generally best to have your own guys so if say GeeDub decides to push random chaos warbands instead of the Chaos Legions you want (and generally what most chaos players want) you can make a fight of things.
I have both primaris walkers, and the venerable dreadnaught in my army. The venerable dreadnaught is my favorite one out of the bunch. The walking crypt is a classic.
Okay, I'm gonna try to guess some tips before I watch the video. 1. Save some money. 2. Save more money, after all the big units are pretty expensive. 3. Save even more money, don't forget the paints, the glues and the tools. 4. Save a little more money. You never know, maybe you'll want to expand your army.
"Try and focus on ONE army" "Try and buy something and paint it - don't let unpainted models build up!" I don't watch this channel to be personally attacked!
Already collected and painted my metal sisters priory, I'm out, I'm done, finished. Would I love to give GW my money, sure, but they want twice as much as I'm willing to pay as prices were already beyond reasonable back in 2016, they just happened to cross the line as they don't want me as a consumer anymore and I have far better things to do with my money. The money they are asking for tiny plastic army men is bonkers insane, there is no IP worth what GW are charging their (collectables) toys for, and it's crazy to put 12+ on the box beside those prices, it's stupid dumb.
My biggest piece of advice is to not buy models faster than you can paint them. I didn't do that and I ended up with a stupid number of models that have been sitting in boxes for ages. I have so many that the thought of painting and basing all of them is intimidating. There are hundreds of them. At one point, I bought two of the big army boxes for Warhammer Fantasy. it was so daunting that I never actually did anything with any of it. It's still in boxes 15+ years later.
Play poorhammer to start to make sure you actually like the game and your chosen faction. It costs ten minutes and forty cents to cut out 2K points worth of paper circles.
Me - want to start an army Also me - buys whole bunch of GSC models Also me me - learns that around 50 models is less than 1000 points and GSC is of the most expensive factions... Feels bad man.
Best advice would be to calm your expectations. And just choose the guys you like visually and lore-wise. Rules are too wide changing too fast which is daunting for new players. Also choose do you want just play, or you wa
Find what makes you enjoy the hobby and focus on it. Dont try to do everything if you dont enjoy it. Personally I love kit-bashing so thats my focus right now, I still play the game from time to time but with gw being what it is, I'd not be continuing if it wasnt for the kit-bashing and lore.
You can stop at 3:08. "GW is expensive, will raise prices and do few other annoying things to IRRITATE COSTUMERS". P.S. It is not just "few things". Support who deserves your cash not GW.
If it's more than the necromunda set, then I don't see it catching on here in Aus, the necromunda set hasn't sold all that well here and the $470 price point is a big part of it at that point you're talking most of a weeks wages on a box of plastic, and you'd need some pretty serious disposable income to make that viable.
I came into this video expecting to learn something new. Now I am looking at my Ork and Spacemarine army and ask myself If I am even in the target audience.
Then you're not playing 40k are you? This is a channel about 49k why do people waffling on about a different system? Like saying I play monopoly but I am too cheap to buy the real game so I play Ludo instead... Eh?
@@Keplaves I do play 40K and I buy GW models (albeit I try to avoid buying new and never direct from GW). One Page Rules is a better ruleset and using a 3D printer allows me to field a unique looking army. This is a tips video, the first part of which acknowledges that a lot of people are dissatisfied with current 40K and use alternative systems to get a different/better 40K experience. There is also a section of the video specifically talking about 3D printers!
@@Keplaves that's like saying you're not playing basketball if you don't buy and use an NBA branded basketball. Being "cheap" is not the issue either. You know why none of my gaming friends get into 40k? Because they to a man say the models are way overpriced. $60 for three shining spears made of plastic? Absolutely hilarious. There is no value to be found there, 3 models allow you to do fuck all in the game. You can buy a complete board game or video game with multiple factions for the same price. The "tooling and machine upkeep costs a lot" is a laughable excuse. I work in an industry where we fab molds for products with forging temperatures hundreds of degrees higher than plastic; GW is making excuses for charging vulgar amounts because they want to position themselves in the market as an " ultra premium" miniatures brand. My 3D printer cost $179. I can print at .03 micron resolution. I have an ever growing array of model files most of which are at the least equal to GW art quality and in most cases higher. I can digital kitbash to create my own models. I can print a 2000 point army for $50-$75. I'm not tech savvy either when it comes to 3D modeling. GW wants me to pay $38 for a single Space Marine character. LoL get bent GW. They need to either adapt to changing technology like the music industry did or watch their market leave them behind.
@@Keplaves Who cares if they are not playing 40K. If you watched the video Auspex does mention One Page Rules specifically. A channel called Wyloch's Armory uses 40K models with that gaming system and it looks like a lot of fun. Tip 51: Some of your organs come in pairs, and you really only need one! The black market is a great place to get some extra cash for your army.
Even better, if you have any relatives that have twins, sell them too! They are just spare parts and no one will notice! This will get you ~500pts of models.
@@Handlingthesenuts. 40k is very spendy, you can't just limit yourself to relatives, neighbors and random hobos at the bus stop have organs too.

@@twilightgames001 Is this GW's Master Plan?
To me the most important aspect to enjoying Warhammer is to play with a good group of people who are good sports about all aspects of the game. If you play with cool people, you will always have fun; if you play with jerks who are only concerned about their win or engage in toxic behavior, you will always have a bad time.
Yeah I prefer a close loss to a crushing victory any day! The game gets crazier and the rolls matter more haha but I play against family mostly so…
Love your comment, it's absolutely spot on, unfortunately my opponent's were some of the worst types which was off putting but I got away from them and better now 😀
I play casually at my lgs as well as taking part in their league and tbh I think it's really fun to play a properly competitive game that you're trying to win but I also enjoy the more relaxed casual games
This is a very good point that people dont think of often enought, It is a board game and boardgames need atleast 2 people to have fun with
Finding friendly other players is a mission indeed. Check multiple forums, maybe someone else in your region is starting the game too.
May I ask where you live Brother? Supposedly not in Germany right? Otherwise If you live in the West of Germany we can meet up at a store near to you and Play.✌🏼
'fraid not.
My general rule: for new things you're excited for or centerpieces, splurge. Or if you want to help out your lgs
Everything else, second hand. Or at least online at great discount. This game should be about the game, not about comparing wallets.
Lgs?
@@matan8074 lgs stands for local game store
In Australia we have the worst of both worlds, the community is often so small that you can't get what you need second hand, especially not for cheap, and buying it new is more expensive here than anywhere else :/
Just a note, that second hand built/painted models not always be the best value if you interested in the model and painting, you get some discount, but you often have to spend time on removing paint and fixing it, so pay by your time
So always consider model state and how you want to use it and time required to fix it, especially for cases where it's only marginal discount
@@hamishwalker9637 i was under the impression that a lot of the australian market had Forgeryworld imports from your northwestern "neighbor"
For #1, I would divide it in 500 pt chunks and PLAY a few games at those levels in order to solidify the decision to continue.
@@sailingsinbad7899 That's what drew me to Chaos and most recently; drew a friend of mine to White Scars
In the time I've been painting my admech they've gone from meh to omg OP to meh again. Meta chasing won't work unless you've got the money to commission the painting too. I'd also reccomend having a slow grow side army so that when your favored faction becomes oppressive you have something to play casual games with
This is the Golden rule, play what you like, even if it sometimes feels like pain (Imperial Fist player myself).
@@brothercaptainaurelian1386 I think my partner can relate to that as a beginner and Black Templar player
Kitbashing terrain can be a fun hobby unto itself. One that can be as simple or as intricate as you like.

5. Watch some good painting tutorials
6. Join your local club ( i unfortunatly dont have any here in Ely, cambridgeshire, but maybe we will start one!)
7. and last, Watch Auspex tactics! And don't watch "Discourse miniatures" channel because her every video is just complaining and you don't want that toxicity in your 40k journey 😎
I was going to suggest to delve into Kill Team first rather than 2k points of 40k but after your first sentence I see I'm a bit late!
Hope you are having fun building and painting all those points though, cheers!

although it's a decent bit extra paperwork, my friends and I absolutely love Crusade and it's been an easy way for us to introduce more people into the hobby.
Same, but then I discovered playing renegade chapters using SM rules because screw you geedubs
@Jon Doe try playing the faction on tabletop stimulator before buying.
I just started playing this weekend and bought the recruit edition and core book. I really appreciate your channel and all of your advise. Thank you!
I love how we accept GW's irritating, anti-customer behaviour, as a "force of nature" or a "fact of life" that cannot be changed...seriously, GW, please stop being greedy.
Yeah the issue is that warhammer is so fun that we can't just stop to prove a point
Unfortuantely, a lot of players are not responsible buyers, which is why GW can do what it wants...
My main tips:
Buy and paint one box at a time.
Starting with kill team not so good as it sounds, rules are vastly different from big Wh so it makes even tougher to remember everything.
Actually dont watch these guys, they do really advance techniques for display pieces...
New players should get contrast and a core set of 10 other paints that will be used for highlights and metals etc
Rule number one - Never buy an army just because it is winning a big tournament today. It is replaced next month.
I have been following 40K through this channel for the last couple of years, and I have seen that too many times to count.
Starter boxes and Bit Resellers are godsends. I've converted so many etb models for half the price of what I would have needed to spend for a box.
On balance: Yes, there will always be a top dog, this will always be true. The unfortunate reality of 40k right now, is that the business model is deliberate imbalance. While most games would aim for having all the various factions as close in power level as possible to one another, GW deliberately unbalances the game to sell models.
And yet they do not do the same for Age of Sigmar? Or any of their other games? Seems very odd to take that stance solely for 40k.
@@Keplaves I think they’re comparing warhammer to non GW games, not trying to gate keep unhappiness from AoS fans. I could be wrong though.
@@Keplaves Not really. 70% of their revenue is from 40k; it makes sense they overbalance that to make cash. It’s fucked up, but its the truth of what they do.
That's nothing new. People were saying the same thing when I started 22 years ago in 3rd edition.

Love the lore, models, & setting. Realize that games workshop wants to have all the money with none of the work, they're the Ubisoft of wargaming.
Monetize like Bungie, treat games like EA and work conditions like...?

75% Profit margin for GW in 2021
3% Profit Margin for Wal-Mart in 2021
It really upsets me they can't just make it more affordable to get into the hobbie.
Two different markets. Also one is high volume-low margin and other is the reverse.

I've so far bought, built and painted:
- 1.5k of Death Guard
- Kill Team Octarius Box
- Sisters of Battle for KT (10 Sisters box)
I started with 1 box of Plague Marines.
Great video, even if you accidentally put something else on your Buying Tactics slides than "splurging on painting supplies and multiple armies while leaving it all on sprues in anticipation of the Long Grey Plastic Winter". I know what you meant.
Number one:
Unless you go in there with the mindset of a collector that will accumulate a lot of (hopefully oop) boxes that yoj know you probably ever open, DO NOT overbuy, especially when you are brand new because odds are that YOU WILL NOT ever have the time to get all that tabletop ready before you either realize you do not like the army or the game as a whole.
But if they are choosing which models get removed first, you are giving him the advantage. Save the bigger firepower till last always
I think as long as you’re more into the hobby aspect and the spectacle of it all plus hanging out with friends over playing a video game, you can’t go wrong with the game. I just love the game from that standpoint
BEFORE YOU READ: Just read if you have a bit of time on your hand, its quite a long comment and a little bit of topic... buuuut this community seems so helpfuls and Im interessted in your thoughts (sorry for typos)
Hey guys Im somewhat new to the game and just completed my first 500 pts of necrons.
My pro and cons this far:
Druhkari:
I love vampire and pirats, so thats a huge plus.
Black Templar:
Gothic knights in Black armor sounds great I rly want to turn my BTs into Rose Knights (for some reason I like the contrast with rly dark and grim Knights with rose and pink shoulderpads).
Thousand Sons:
I dont rly care for Chaos toooo much but like tzeenche and to lead a troop of elite sorcerers in Power armor that are somewhat mutatet with a bird theme is realy appealing.
Hey,
i still think black templars might be the best option.
(I own 2000 points of nearly just rubrics and terminators)
I also think black templars vs necrons would be a cool matchup.
If you have a good group of
People learning how to play for the first time I found it helpful to simplify the game a bit by excluding secondaries and just counting primary objective scoring at the start of command phase, along with setting up a simple map, it gives you a good sense of how the game is played before adding some more complex things (actions, scoring secondaries). Then later when you group is ready you could move onto playing more full games.
One tip I would add, find out if your army has a large forgeworld component, ahem custodes, and if they do decide if the resin tax is worth it for your army.
True. I wanted to try tyranids then saw the biggest mons like dimachaeron, hierophant, harridan, are all FW.
2:10 do not think we do not see that cut in your speech auspex ;-P

On the hobby side, I'd add trying out oil paints as something everyone should do. The need for white spirit is annoying and drying time can be excessive if you do a thick layer but they solve almost every frustrating property of acrylic paint. It took me about a week to figure out how the oil paint behaved compared to acrylic but I've switched entirely to oils since
Tip #1. Don't buy anything new until you've built and painted all of the other models you have. Tip #2 Never follow tip #1
The magnetization tip is SO big. I just started collecting this year, and I’ve been magnetizing a lot. It was really intimidating at first, but I’ve come to really enjoy doing it, actually! I just hate getting super glue on my fingers.
Number 1 tip.
Ebay
Ebay
Ebay. I've saved hundreds by getting models on discounted prices. It requires patience but to truly worth it.
Why spend 35 pounds on a single intercessor squad when I can get it for less than 20 quid?
I'd actually suggest Facebook marketplace as well.
Sadly, for anyone out of the UK , ebay insane shipping cost makes it just an unusable option
if you're serious about the hobby the best advice i can give is get a 3d printer. me and a friend saved up some money to split the cost of a really good couple of them and now all we spend money on is cheap plastic/resin for in the printers and any files that are for sale. rules are online so no need to buy any books. cant use those models and pirated rules at official gw places like the gw stores, but ive not had any problems using them at 3rd party retailers and hobby stores with room for tabletop games. and my friend and used the money we didnt spend on gw to make amazing mdf terrain, we both took lessons with computer drawing programs to design it and have it cut out for us.
yes we did for real save enough money to start a small local business selling our own designed mdf wargaming terrain and 3d printed minis. and thats honestly just from money we would have otherwise spend on gw xD
Ebay is always hilarious to me as an option. It is never cheaper than buying from a 3d party retailer, and unless the models/paintjob is absolute shit, then the prices + shipping are ridiculously unaffordable.
You cannot buy intercessors for 20 quid until they are built and probably shitty painted and good luck if it is some thin layer of Citadel paint, not some shit over spray of car paint
Usually built, not painted models is the best deal, but still you can get some outrageous examples of terrible assembly
I bought many models from ebay, but it's not what I would recommend for beginners, probably only if
Though, if you live in UK it's for sure better, because of the amount of stuff available and relatively cheap delivery
The number one reason I switched from 40k to Kill team is I can (and do) have 6 Different Kill teams from 4 different factions and it lets me pick a little of this and a little of that to scratch my hobby itch.

Becomes friends with somebody who can 3d print stuff for you is fantastic. Generally once you get to know people you will get discounts and freebies and you can send more people their way as you can vouch for their work
I have not played since 5e but when I started was told to go for the models you like and want to paint, so had a mixed demon army.
incredible vid man! lots of stuff I wish I knew starting out, gonna help a lot of new people!!
This was insanely helpful. I didnt know about kill team! Thank you a lot!
Look for used, not finished figures or whole boxes. Some people tend to get rid of their stashes.
Yesterday i baught a 'Start collecting Astra Militarum' still packed for 43 EUR from a pawn shop :/
If you see something very cheap, which you might use and is simmilar to your centerpiece buy it and practise on it.
I really like your content, but the audio could be a bit louder :)
I agree. I always need volume on full when I'm not using headphones or casting to a tv.

I'll chip in here as well because I hope Auspex reads this. It's a very easy fix and would improve the viewing experience. The volume disparity on ad breaks is like a punch to the face when you have headphones on.
I have had this issue too. Any decent editing software has a simple volume gain tool. He doesn't even need to actually speak up.

Good luck. You can buy regular space marines, then buy the black templar upgrade parts separately, or greenstuff
Another tip: try not to get annoyed. Be patient with people. Not everyone sees the game the game the same way and people have different goals.
Made that mistake as well when I bought a large box of space marines
excellent timing, just decided what 5 armies i'll be collecting :')

Aaaaahhhhh. I can’t help myself, just collect everything!
Well, maybe not but thank you for always having great videos & explanations.
you’re never going to get UK prices in the US but i’ve found miniature market and umbrella games is a good alternative
@@qwer9676 It's a darn shame for me! Seems like most of the good miniatures games creators I know of are in the UK.

Fantastic advice, thanks for this video!
Get a 3D printer and use wahapedia + pdf scans for rules
This will go unappreciated, but actually, this is a golden comment.
Great vid as per usual my friend

Already collected and painted my metal sisters priory, I'm out, I'm done, finished. Would I love to give GW my money, sure, but they want twice as much as I'm willing to pay as prices were already beyond reasonable back in 2016, they just happened to cross the line as they don't want me as a consumer anymore and I have far better things to do with my money. The money they are asking for tiny plastic army men is bonkers insane, there is no IP worth what GW are charging their (collectables) toys for, and it's crazy to put 12+ on the box beside those prices, it's stupid dumb.
Can anyone tell me what to do with the old books (rulebooks, codex, etc)
Really cannot stress the buy and paint point enough. Buy one thing, PAINT IT! No to piles of shame.
The Space Marine in the thumbnail. Who is he? Where can I get him? He's like true scale!
For the UK boys. Cash converters. Got adrax and a box of assault intercessors for 25 quid.
are black templars a cheap option?
Honestly my best tip with all the rapid price increases is
Don't
let the battle sanctum in the store they've said, it will be there later....for 50% more the cost
Me - want to start an army
Also me - buys whole bunch of GSC models
Also me me - learns that around 50 models is less than 1000 points and GSC is of the most expensive factions...
Feels bad man.
Taking notes for certain League...
Really helpfull video for a beginner thank you!
Best advice would be to calm your expectations. And just choose the guys you like visually and lore-wise. Rules are too wide changing too fast which is daunting for new players. Also choose do you want just play, or you wa
Want to color and make beautiful miniatures.
6:45 and you can bet your balls that they are going to gouge all the people clamoring for the squats.
Top Tip #1
Don't give money to GW. Just 3d print all your needs for pennies on the dollar
You can stop at 3:08. "GW is expensive, will raise prices and do few other annoying things to IRRITATE COSTUMERS". P.S. It is not just "few things". Support who deserves your cash not GW.
If it's more than the necromunda set, then I don't see it catching on here in Aus, the necromunda set hasn't sold all that well here and the $470 price point is a big part of it
at that point you're talking most of a weeks wages on a box of plastic, and you'd need some pretty serious disposable income to make that viable.
300$ on a 2000pt army. Good one Auspex
Great content as usual
Remember that you will start a 2nd army
I came into this video expecting to learn something new.
Now I am looking at my Ork and Spacemarine army and ask myself If I am even in the target audience.
One page rules and 3D printer! That is all.
I am looking into multiple systems for using my 40K models and am glad I got the models I did before the price hike plus other LGS for getting 40K at a discount because fuck it ^_^
@@chrisgoodier6825 If you have not seen Wyloch's Armory channel for One Page Rules that is a great one to check out.
