I currently have my first breeding pair and as of this morning 4 eggs were laid. Might I ask, will I need any different food for them once she stops feeding them or will they simply eat the regular food mix which the parents eat?
hello! hoping you might be able to help i have a blue female 2 year old living with a yellow red crested male who have paired and lived together for over a year now so both probably around 2 years old. she started attacking him near her nest box which did stop last summer (it only happened a few times) so i placed a second nest box in their cage as i read they like two. my question is my girl today was litterally shaking her butt at him telling him to jump on but the poor guy just looked at her with side eye haha! Do you think he will eventually mount her? Really hoping.
I have a turquoise and royal blue male Kakariki, he’s very very loud, I mean louuddddd, he won’t stop screaming at me from when he wakes up for about 2 hours, is this normally? Could do with so,e personal advice

Hello where or what kind of breeding material do you use. I put bunny wood shavings and thy are trowing it out ? What about grass cut up that is dry ?

Any advice i just got them a breeding box what should i put inside anything in particular i should pay attention to when babies hatch
Wood shavings, they will chew it up and promotes breeding instinct. Kakariki tend to pluck chicks so keep an eye on that

The with breeding birds is nothing can be forced. If he isn't ready then they won't breed. He will in his own time
How long did they take to hatch from when she layed them?
Usually kakariki's take 21 days incubation period to hatch
