  • Is the gas Oven not firing up? Do you see glowing red or orange light coming from the oven, but the oven is not heating up? Or Does it take forever for the burner to ignite and the oven finally heats up?
Well then you most likely have a bad igniter. The igniter operates on low voltage. It heats up, signaling a temperature sensor to release the gas and then it ignites the gas turning the burner on. If the igniter does not turn on or does not turn on fully, the gas can’t ignite.
This video shows how an igniter can be replaced. This is demonstrated on a Frigidaire Stove. This generic repair can be done on any gas oven that is not firing up, or taking too long to fire up.
