I've been privileged to see her several times and was just talking about her in that I was comparing a local musician to her. I was explaining that the versatility of her voice and her natural talent paired with her experience is so extraordinary that I wish everyone could hear her in person because you can't believe what she does live nor truly appreciate the extent of her talent and skill until you do. I am always brought to tears by her live performance as her voice is so extraordinary. Being near her is being in the presence of true greatness.

It's pretty amazing -- they way she moves her hands when she sings is a lot like what singers of Raga do in India. She also always improvises how she sings her songs, each performance is unique. She is a true vocal artist, something very rare in the popular music world. I'm a classical musician, and I'm not sure that audiences appreciate what they're hearing when they hear Jewel sing. A musician, vocalist, and artist of the highest caliber, across any genre.
I believe everyone who has listened to your music loves you Jewel. Standing still or running full speed ahead, we got you, always. As a San Diego native, I think I can speak for all of us San Diegans and say you are a part of our family for life. Thank you.

I think Jewel is underrated and under-appreciated. Not only a gifted musician, but really had something to say, and unfortunately, IMO, her audience was not ready to understand it.

A real class act. Someone who has risen from tough situations and never stopped being beautiful in her heart. I have no problem having my 10 year old daughter listening to her. I so remember when I first heard her voice in the 90s. Keep up with the charity's. Makes you even more loving.

Jewel! Omg. I have honestly loved her and her music since I was a teen! (Im 44). She’s so funny, so beautiful, so well spoken, and THOSE PIPES!! That really is a God given talent. She is one of a kind!
I love how Jewel adds and gives feels to all live performances. This is one of those things you appreciate as a long time fan that she performs live without auto tunes or sound technicians or recordings and lip sinking. Jewel is and always will be one of a kind. I look forward to her new album when she releases it. revisiting this concert.
Gosh just pure talent & class! I've been a fan since I was 9 & now a grown woman myself I can connect with these songs in a different way. I just dont get how someone this talented with music that's so rich & deep can only get 600ish likes but someone with no talent, no originality & generic music can get millions, she's so underrated.
Jewel has always played what she feels, and those that hear her are truly blessed. I agree it seems she goes under rated and that is because she has a unique factor playing to the fans doing what she loves. with such sincerity and heart.
I met Jewel in 2004. She is a truly kind person and a lot of fun(and gorgeous). I am a fan for life.

Today December 14, 2021 and this is the first time that I heard this concert and I'm only at the 37 minute mark and I wasn't going to write any comments. But, Jewel is a world-class singer and is able to do more nuances to her voice, singing like a little girl, singing edgy with some grit, very sultry and slinky, angelic, I hear Joplin, but mostly Jewel rocking and "blowing the roof off the building". Then, she has vibrato, and not just one variety of the vibrato, listen for the different variations and she can control each one, make it faster or slower, and one she uses that made me notice is the one that sounds like Joni Mitchell's, it is haunting. I also want to mention another world-class singer like Jewel is Wendy Moten, you'll just have to check her vocal cords out. The reason why I'm writing this is because we start to take it for granted so that each attribute that makes Jewel world-class needs to be pointed out, so that people don't say, "That's just Jewel." If you didn't notice, Jewel can hold a note for a very long time and when you think she's finished she holds it for another 5 seconds, and you are forced to take a breath for Jewel. I've never heard her with a band and she does very well, as expected, and the band is really good also. Jewel also looks smoking great, white stiletto short above the ankle boots, enough said, but a sight for sore eyes. I'm tempted to write more on this subject, and I guess that all girls look like that in Alaska, so my new favorite sport is ice fishing. I really liked Jewel live at the Rialto Theatre. Her 7 year old son strums better that some kids that have played for a couple years. That's enough, gotta listen to the rest of the concert!
I forgot to mention that Jewel has multi-octaves at her disposal and s he is not afraid to go from the gutter-most to the upper-most register of her God given voice. We are lucky to still be able to hear this much talent. I would love to be there and hear her live. Until then this will have to do. I agree with the other comments, that Jewel does not appear to age, even though over 20 years have slid by. I aged, she didn't! Alright, she did age about 2 years, but not more than that. I would like Jewel to do a Joni Mitchell cover tune of her choosing, and singing some Jazz with Diana Krall. or in that style.
