What's your #1 pistachio perfume?
Update: After further testing of the Kayali Pistachio Gelato on skin, I notice that there's a nice freshness (bergamot) that's very prominent in the opening. As it dries, sometimes I get the scent and texture of pistachio gelato (with bits of pistachio crumbled on top) but other times I get a scent that reminds me of a sweet smelling cardboard (if there were ever such thing) with a hint of soft powdery florals. With performance, it's pretty light and mostly a scent that stays close to the skin. All in all, it's a like but not a love for me. I guess I'm looking for something more literal. Like eating a delicious thick and milky creamy pistachio gelato/ice cream on a hot Summer day. I'll keep searching for my HG pistachio ice cream scent in the meantime 😋
I will be layering Pistache body butter with sol d jenero 62. Pistache body butter is said to be spot on pistachio icecream.

I had to wear yum for a few days straight in order to truly appreciate it and now I'm in love. I pick up all those Gourmand notes & it lasts forever on my clothing but it is a soft closer to the skin scent.
Laura Mercier’s Crème de Pistache was THE perfect Pistachio scent - I wish they’d bring that one back 💚
I don’t get all the hates online, for me this is a really interesting perfume! Have to try it on skin it changes a lot with different stages
1) Nutty, fresh, citrusy
2) green, floral, a bit powdery
3)whipped cream, marshmallow powdery, creaminess
I do get a lot of ice cream feeling with the base notes, I’m loving all the heavy gourmand accord at the base!
It didn’t match with my expectations though, I don’t think this really smells like a pistachio ice cream

If you listen closely to the people spewing hate, you will realise they don’t hate the fragrance but hate that the campaign was a success 😂. Had a lot of people talk about the new release which increased brand awareness and probably sales.
Don’t say this loud, others have their demons activated by the success of the brand and go around saying false statements like the brand is juvenile 😂. It’s comical
I dont think most people hate everyone is saying it's not a bad scent ........ BUT like u said it DOESN'T match the expectation that's the problem 🤷🏾♀️
I enjoy Kayali perfumes, and the brand owner seems to be very nice, I really really wanted to like this, and I was actually attracted by the fact that people disliked it because of their bold and original take one pistachio. Unfortunately it didn't work for me, the florals threw me off and were too reminiscent of cheap cleaning products we used to have in France... It can be my nose just capturing that particular note because of olfactory memories, and I'm glad people love it. I' ve lots of perfumes that people hate, and it is ok for me...I may change my mind one day...
Kyse Perfumes Frangipane Al Pistachio is a great affordable indie pistachio fragrance. It's not ice cream like but super creamy, sweet, and warm with a wonderful pistachio note.

DS and Durga is beautiful! But, on me it turns very masculine! I love unisex fragrances; but on me it was too masculine

I enjoy the Pistaché brand pistachio body butter and body spray. Both made with pistachio oil. Very affordable, and smell delicious.
The Laura Mercier is my FAVE- they need to bring it BACK!!! 😭😭😭

Thanks for the review! I bought a travel size a couple of weeks ago, it’s not pistachio gelato! It’s more of a vanilla scent. So I went on YT to see what people were layering it with; so my favorite combo is Mon guerlain edp with the Kayali pistachio! It’s really pretty! Be blessed young lady
Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato, is probably one of my favorite scents of 2023, so far! My only problem is that it’s pretty faint but… I did experiment layering today. I layered it with House of Sillage’s Batman Hero and oh myyyyy! I have found my new obsession! Haha I can still smell both since spraying this morning. At my 6th hour from this 8 hour shift! Hahaha 💚🖤❤️🔥
Try Khair pistachio it is a spot on dupe but the longevity and projection are beast mode on Khair Pistachio.
y'all can hate me for keeping it 100 but kayali does not impress me what so ever. ive tried every one of their perfumes and they are GENERIC. it's giving body mist performance for niche price! i'd rather spend my money on fenty or another chanel, gucci, lancôme perfume. i said what i said😂

Probably I am one of the few who is not impressed by Kayali's scents/fragrances/perfumes...none of their products made me "walk" or even "crawl" to get any. Very week performance, extremely synthetic and (to me) they are clones of clones of clones....This is my opinion

You're right and I have 3 travel size perfumes from this brand. They are synthetic once I run out. I'm done with this brand.

The new Kayali is very interesting. Its best on the skin and gets better as it sits. If you layer with kayali 28 thats a Beautiful combination
I recently tried DS & Durga Pistachio and I had zero expectations of liking it, but I DID. It’s worth a try.
Hi Arlene thanks for a great video. I really enjoy this fragrance but I think it smells more like Lime sherbet or lime jello instead of pistachio gelato. Not a disappointment just different from what I was expecting.
I also wanted to add that I absolutely LOVE Cheirosa 62- possibly my most favorite body spray ever 😍
Hi and thank you for your review and inspiration 💚 I own the new Kayali pistachio and really like it, the only downside is that I think the scent is a bit too tangy at the beginning because of the bergamot. By the way, if you ever get to try the perfume ‘Pistachio’ by DS&Durga, please make a review 💚
It really needs to be tested on the skin. It is amazing. Sweet pistachios with whipped cream and marshmallow 😋 😍. Give it another try with the travel size.

I finally managed to get my nose on a few Kayali fragrances. My first impression was that I was pleasantly surprised with the brand. They stand up to a lot of designer quality fragrances on first impression. I haven't worn any of the Kayali perfumes on skin, so I couldn't give a full first impression until I do that. I was happily surprised to see they had brought in a few tester bottles to the Sephora location closest to me (in Canada).
Yum Pistachio was one of the fragrances that I sprayed on a test strip. It was bright with the bergamot in the opening and I got citrus and a creamy sweet vanilla marshmallow off the top. It was a little nutty for me in the mid but I wasn't thinking pistachio, it was more hazelnut to my nose. Then I got some of those clean musk notes as it dried down. I would be interested to see how it changes on skin as that can effect what notes get pronounced. It was pretty, but had no one mentioned the name of the fragrance I wouldn't have made a connection to gelato or ice cream.
I think it could be worth getting one of their perfume sample sets to try out and see how the Kayali fragrance perform.

Kayali is not a designer house, they are a niche house, they even have an award for best nigh house not sure from which year
@@jusblack_thabi I am aware they are niche. I just think that they compare to designer in terms of quality, note composition and longevity. I wasn't calling them designer.
I got their sample set recently and liked a few of them quite a bit. My only complaint is that I don't feel the longevity or sillage is what I'm used to getting out of a niche brand. But yeah I agree theyre comparable to many designer scents.
I got the Hermes you mentioned on your recommendation and I love it. I also love the new Opium Le Parfum.

I never smelled pistachio in a perfume, but I love pistachio ice cream and eating them out of hand.
I hope I won't offend anybody but, pistachio gelato started like a toilet cleaner, slightly harsh and cheap smelling, then it turned into a toilet diffuser (jelly type), a sweetish almost nauseating scent, it reminds me of scented toilet paper we used to have in France in the 80's 90's. And yes, I tried it on skin, and I should probably try it a second time just to see if I perceive it differently, but I won't buy it for sure...

Thanks for your review! I saw on Fragrantica that this was compared to Guerlain’s La Petite Robe Noir Eau Fraiche. I have that and I know that you did a review on the LPRN flankers and was wondering if you thought they are similar. I have not tested Kayali Yum Pistachio. Now, I don’t think LPRN eau Fraiche is a literal pistachio scent either but it does have a citrus opening. The pistachio is subtle but I do get wafts of it and the dry down does remind me of pistachio gelato at times!

Nordstrom finally got Cythere in stock. I can't wait to get my nose on it and am hoping I will love it. I've gotten into Carthusia fragrances recently and this Jardin line looks like it could be similar. Still waiting for spring to begin here and need to treat myself with a new fragrance for surviving the winter, hopefully Cythere will be that treat!! I will also test out the Kayali, but doubt it will be fore me, I haven't liked any of there fragrances.
I've been really really enjoying this Kayali fragrance and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I was away from the internet hype or expectations set in the weeks prior to its release. I just rolled up to Sephora realized something new was out and fell in love with it. I do get a lot of the greenness in the opening followed by the mild nuttiness and rum I wouldn't say it's very creamy but enough is there for me it that kind of mellows it out and blends those notes. If you had described it that way to me before smelling it I would have been convinced that I wouldn't like since I'm definitely a gourmand girl but it's just so interesting it keeps me coming back for more. My biggest complaint is the longevity of course but I'm interested to see how it will wear through the summer.
I tried it here in Canada at Sephora and was highly disappointed. One minute it was there and the next gone. What was shortly there was nothing to write home about.
I really love this new Kayali scent , another pistachio scent that I like is Elie Saab the girl of now. So lovely Pistachio
Elle Saab's Girl of Now is my all-time favorite. It was my signature for a long time. Unfortunately they've discontinued it. I now wear Girl of Now Shine. It's a beautiful pistachio too, just not quite as rich.

Btw, yesterday I finally got to try Blanche Bête - this is the second truly special and wonderful gourmand I found because of you! The other being Trussardi Emanuele II.
Naturally I even gravitate to different styles but when it's that good you can't resist.

I get incense in this perfume. I honestly feel like I’m walking through a temple all day when I wear it. To my nose I’m not picking up any gourmands. With that said though I’m enjoying the scent for what it is hahah.

What about Le Petit Robe Noire Fraiche?? It also has pistachio.
everyone I know that has tried it has been disappointed in it, it's not a bad scent I think everyone is just let down expecting something totally different based on the name. Honestly on me it dries down to a almost soapy smell.
For me it’s just a vanilla fragrance. And not the best vanilla. Smells pretty cheap. And it’s definitely linear.

Dua Brand has a good pistachio gelato perfume
I'm not going to try the Kayali as their perfumes don't wow me. I have Dua pistachio gelato & its lovely. Strong pistachio note that carries through to a lovely creamy nutty dry down. It lasts a long time & is definitely gourmand. I also love la petit robe noir eau fraiche which is a gorgeous sweet fresh pistachio.
Pistache bodybutter smells literally like Pistachio icecream.
This was horrible in my opinion. This failed the tech of actually smelling like it tastes. It was not latonic or creamy to me at all. It smelled like a baby wipe to me. It was gross. If I want to smell like vanilla ice cream I will wear Dulce by Rosie Jane - it’s true to life vanilla ice cream.
Dua makes a pistachio gelato perfume but I’ve never smelled it :/
I LOVE Kayali Pistachio Gelato, but can't buy it since it only stays on my skin for about five minutes. So disappointed.
This is the most hyped fragrance. It smells like absolutely nothing. I think I need to start my own perfume and call it water and just put tapwater in a bottle and sell it for $136 a bottle. Um this perfume smells like absolutely nothing if there is anything in there besides tapwater I would be surprised unless you were a hound dog and can smell minuscule things. This perfume is an absolute joke and they just got you for $136 with coupon, I returned this crap before it even came out on the Sephora store. I ordered it online. I thought oh this is going to be good. It smells like nothing. Do not waste your money on this tapwater.
I’m not a fan of this house band it has nothing to do with marketing like someone alluded to. I don’t like the fact that they present themselves as original when they are not. They recycle other fragrances and ideas that others actually worked on. It’s my opinion and not meant to sway anyone. I just choose not to buy from them.
