@@DisasterMaster3K don't forget this is a budget tablet. Good enough for doing simple task, UA-cam, FB, Netflix, Internet Browsing and for gaming Helio G99 is not that bad as long as your settings is not maxed out.
Picked one up this morning, and this review is spot on. The build quality is great for the price point. Battery life is the major downside, even with light usage the level drops faster than what I'd consider normal.
This definitely DOES NOT compare to $250-300 options. You can get a lenovo xiaoxin pad pro 8/128 version for around $220. If you want a smaller form factor, the $280-300 Y700 2023 come to mind. I got the xiaoxin pad pro 2025 12/256gb version for $270 after VAT. Total $330 after buying case/screen protector/pen/foldable keyboard(I didn't want a keyboard case and they're kind of expensive). Has a Mediatech Dimension 8300. Equivalent to a SD 8gen1 At $400 you can get the Honor Magic Pad 2 which includes both a pen and a keyboard case. Good value for a tablet with accessories included. 12/256gb, SD 8gen3, amoled screen.
I have 2 of the 11 pro tabs from onn, and the updates have actually come pretty regularly. It's basically pure android with no fluff and they both work great almost 2 years later, so whoever is managing this project is doing a great job.
It's cheaper than a used iPad that looks old and dated. Not to mention, a fast charger included, and the storage is up-gradable! Hard to beat for the price
When you consider the cheapest new iPad has either 32 or 64GB of storage with a 60Hz screen and the ONN has 128GB and a 90hz screen for a fraction of the price of the cheapest new iPad this is a hell of a deal😂
I think the only major weakness here is battery life. Which is a HUGE factor - and might just be enough to prevent me from buying. On the other hand - 12.1 screen with nice colors and terrific screen resolution - Loud and clear speakers- 128 gb storage- 90 htz refresh rate- For $179? That’s actually a REALLY good deal! Other tablets in that size usually START over $300 and head on up over $1000. With Black Friday coming this will probably go down to $149 or $159 which might just make picking it up a no brainer. Please keep us posted of your notice any change in your battery testing!
@heatherdivincenzo5085 Haha, I'm not from the US and the ONN is not available to me where I am from, but I am always amazed how many affordable yet powerful and decently build tablets are available out there besides the iPad (which is literally everywhere).
I have the 10.1 inch pro tablet from Onn I got last year and it was a great value. Used it to play COD mobile a lot with a PS4 controller and it never struggled. THAT BEING SAID i had to have it replaced on day 2 because it went into a bootloop that i could not fixed. But ive had the replacement for over a year and it still works great. I can leave it on my nightstand for weeks without charging and it barely pulls any power at all at standby.
Yes I know. I'm 35 and can remember when tablets first started coming out and they would have 480x800 resolution screens with 512mb of ram and 4 or 8GB of storage and we're considered top of the line tablets😂
The Tab A9 sounds a little better, there is more bass in the speakers. Though, if you want the best set of speakers included on an Android tablet get the Lenovo Tab Plus .
The cheap tablet market is aimed at people who don't want to spend a lot (duh), and chargers are very cheap to manufacture, so throwing one in makes it a more enticing deal. More expensive tech is aimed at the sort of person who's going to upgrade every few years or less, and that person probably already has a dozen chargers. Sending another one would just be ewaste - which isn't something big corporations particularly care about, but environment-conscious consumers do and it's an easy way for corporations to save a few bucks while pretending to be eco-friendly. Their heart isn't in the right place, but the practice of not including chargers in more expensive devices makes logical sense.
*The only thing I don't like is that they don't specify the battery un mAh as 15 hours of standby is not the same as full use hours. The screen is also larger than the SA9 which will drain it faster at the same price. I bought a SA9 and it spent 4% per 15 mins of gaming which is easily over Five hours of gaming. It says it has a 7K mAh battery. Passable for the price.*
(Not to brag) I have a iPad mini 6, but this literally is a grabs for money. Like it’s a cheap tablet but it’s genuine and not one of those rip off tablets you see on Temu and stuff. I wouldn’t be mad getting this tablet
By any chance does it have a SIM card slot? If it does can you put a prepaid SIM card in there and see if it behaves like a tablet meaning requires DUN protocol or does it behave like a cell phone and can use the unlimited data on a cheap prepaid phone plan? It's one of the reasons I got my blackview tablet incredible battery life like I charge it once a week literally and it can take a SIM card from hello Mobile for example and it behaves just like a phone so we can use cellular data not DUN which is a separate plan Blast the 8-in screen is not quite enough for reading magazines a 12.1 2K screen would be really nice
Definitely very interested in this if it ever goes on sale for like 120, i really only use my current onn tablet for youtube so this seems like a nice upgrade for the right price
i went with the Galaxy tab S9 ultra, ran me $1200. i wouldn't recommend someone spend that much just for a tablet, but for me its my main device for everything, especially since Dex lets me use it as a desktop. otherwise this is great for someone that wants something budget friendly and no gimmicks.
I had this tablet for a few days, It's a great budget tablet my only complaint was the brightness. Using it in a bright environment is almost impossible to use and using it at night with low brightness had a weird auto brightness level that was annoying me. I did have auto brightness off but the level was changing depending on what I was looking at.
Although I have zero use for a tablet like this.. I pretty much always have my 14" macbook with me, as well as an ipad mini that really only gets used for youtube and some light browsing..
