How I made 35K Selling Photos Online

  • In this video, I go over exactly how I made $35,000 selling photos online. Most of the revenue came from stock photography on Microstock sites. However, I do also make money from prints and direct stock photo sales.
If you are interested in the type of photography I do, here are links to my portfolio on the different sites.

It is so refreshing to watch a video that isn't edited every 30 seconds and where the narrator actually pauses between points. All this not to mention the excellent content. Thanks!

Exactly. Never thought I'd grow to honestly like or appreciate a guy on UA-cam in just minutes. In just one video.

@@Theo_best might as well work overtime at your job. I found that chasing the wind with all these part time opportunities has not worked. What did work was actually becoming more valuable and learning more at the job I have now. That’s actually been more profitable than chasing money here and there. It’s actually less work too. Focus on concentrating on your work your doing now and becoming an expert in your field

Yes, that is about right. I know that isn't much if it was my full-time job, but it covers my camera equipment, software, website hosting, computer and part of my travel costs (not all but a portion of it).
I love travelling and landscape photography so I would take these trips and photos even if I couldn't make any money off them, so the fact that I can make $500 is a great bonus for me.

Excellent video. Content is king. I know people that have well over 5000 photos and nowhere near this amount of earnings. I have a small portfolio (around 1000-2000 photos, depending on the site) with close to zero sales because of the content. Mainly random snaps. Stock needs an elaborate approach, dedication and perseverance. It is a marathon for most people on the platforms.

I have scanned 5000+ 4 X 6 prints that are 25+ years old and are different categories such as sports and travel. Which of the many online stock sites has an audience for photos that are 25+ years old? For example a photo of Petros the Pelican with a group of fishermen on the Greek Island of Mykonos. My Petros Pelican differs from all photos I have found on every stock photo site I searched due to my Petros being more of the historical Petros not the tourist Petros. My Petros pelican photo does not have the high quality that Getty would approve but Getty is the top choice for historical images. Any other sites for these 25+ year old photos you recommend?

Hi there. I love taking photos with my iPhone. Would a professional camera be better to get started in selling my photos? Thank you in advance, from an amateur photographer.
