Some stock photography platforms ask for technical data of the image. What is the correct way to do that? And what if the image was taken long ago so you don't remember much about it? Do you have a video about this issue? Thank you for your time.
unfortunately Pexels doesn't work, because of people. I run my gallery on Pexels 2 weeks or three and until now I have more then 650 000 views and almost 800 downloads of my pictures. Donated money is exactly 0 dollars. ZERO. Nobody from those 800 people who downloaded my picture didn't pay me one cent. So sad and so demotivating. I am trying to understand for what I have my pictures there. For competition ? Which competition ? What can I have from that competition ? How can I pay my bills ? :( I was so motivated first 3 days but now, to be honest, I stopped to put my pictures there, I can't see any reason why I should make that effort. It's nice page, people have there beautiful galleries but system of donation doesn't work at all. If nobody would see my gallery, then ok. But 650 000 people, I am now actually on 67. place in ranking (30 -days ranking of course), almost 800 people downloaded.. if they would send me just some cents. I could see the sense. Nobody ever will buy my picture, if he/she can get if for free :( This is the mentality of people and Pexels will not change anything on it.
I feel for you. The author of this video I believe is living in cloud cuckoo land. He speaks about Fine Art America. I have been with that group for 5 years and made 0 sales. I refuse to entertain Pexels anymore. I have images with Dreamstime who are OK. Consider Redbubble I have made quite a bit through them. Shutterstock and 5oopx not worth the effort
i think part of the problem might be that if you "donate" on Paypal, you pay a pretty steep service fee. more than what users/buyers consider worthwhile to cover on top of their miniscule donation. nobody but Paypal benefits from that scheme. so much for free photos.
also, you have to watch if Pexels actually removes your account and portfolio once you request it. for me they didn't. I had to manually dele my photos one by one, quite a task.

You're so dumb, 5000 downloads is tiny rofl - he even said he got 5 to 10 donations for 100k downloads and you're sat there thinking you'll make much from 5000 - he has a 1 donation per 10,000 or 1 donation per 5000 at worst ratio

@@SciFeags Not according to the author of this video. Depends on content. Difference is with FAA is you sell pictures post cards of your images as opposed to jpgs like other stock sites.
Free? You are simply encouraging people to expect to get and use photography for free, that’s why the whole business is failing, because people expect to get work for free, there is no guarantee people will make a donation, you are devaluing your own work and the industry.
@@shack109 Not to pile on but, I think original poster was pointing out overall devaluation. It's the ratio that matters. You have 100k downloads and 5-6 people pay you. So 99994 folks devalued your work!! You state they are different customers than what buy at an agency. Maybe some are but you're describing 1 million free loaders per year on the freebie site just for your images. You know full well there must be overlap. Decline in agency revenue for everyone industry wide, and increase for freebie sites?!? Just a coincidence? Really, you believe that?? It's not like the $1-2 charged on the agencies is going to break the bank. It is good seeing you online again, and looking forward to your updates on NFTs etc. Peace. 😃

You are reinforcing the expectation that picture buyers can get and use photographers work for FREE, that attitude will put all photographers of whatever level out of business. It is an irresponsible attitude and lots of photographers are loosing out on much needed funds, things are bad enough without you encouraging editors/buyers to expect great content for free. Is that what happens in your local supermarket? You get to the checkout with a weeks shopping and say I’m not paying today but I might make a donation next time. Irresponsible and industry damaging comments.
@@shack109 Bankruptcy is the least of my concerns. Clients pay good money for my work. If you want to give it away for free be my guest, but you may want to get schooled in basic economics before your compensation declines to zero.

Pexels is no way to earn money when it relys on people donating "if they want". I've had over 5000 downloads and not even $1 thrown my way.

Fine arts America is not worth your time. You may sell 2 things in the span of 5 years
