eve.online/Ridddle_EN_homogalacticus In this video, we explore the prospects of humanity becoming a proper galactic species and how could this possibly affect our biology. To try to mitigate exposure to low gravity and radiation NASA is already working on technological and even genetical engineering solutions, but how far would we go? We explore this process of becoming homo galacticus using the latest scientific advances as well as best science fiction worlds from books, TV shows and even games. Such as EVE Online which is set in a rich sci-fi universe, where players can create their own character and explore a vast and complex virtual world built according to the complex set of consistent in-world rules. It feels like a real simulation of humanity's future in space, including all the body modifications needed to survive in it.
I think the possibilities predicted in sci-fi book "Alien From Earth" will be reality soon. I think author has done great work by creating the realistic world in the book.
The Starfury is one of sci-fi modt iconic star fighter, ranking up there with the Xwing, the Veritech, and the Colonial Viper. Excellent design and excellent video love your style
It's not impossible I Don't think, but there are some less obvious hurdles we have to get over, like how does a crew manage to stay sane enough to not want to kill eachother after say 2 or 10 years of being stuck together in a ship traveling to some asteroid or planet that is perhaps 40 years away? That and fuel and supplies would also be hurdles to overcome. But I think it would be possible still to travel within our galaxy and perhaps beyond it... so I'd say "yes" and "no". We have some work to do, but it could be done with the tech we have today, it would just take a lot longer due to limitations in our current propulsion technologies.
Most people don't know about the 1 realistic method for interstellar travel. If a ship travels at a constant 1g acceleration rate it would get to Alpha Centauri in 3.6 years (7.3 years would pass on Earth) and this includes turning the ship around halfway to decelerate. It would achieve about .95% light speed in 1 year. A 10 ton ship would require 10 tons of continuous thrust. This is by far the fastest way we can get to other worlds and the ship would have gravity the whole way. All that is needed for this is a fission rocket that can put out thrust for long periods and does not consume hydrogen. A true fission rocket should consume uranium or plutonium only. They are both jittery atoms that are on the verge of fissioning all by themselves. There should be a way to get them to fission in a linear fashion. What's needed is a controlled, time released nuclear explosion. In an atomic bomb fission occurs when neutrons hit uranium or plutonium nuclei. This is because they will not tolerate an increase in mass. Due to the equivalence of mass and energy, the same should be true if you infuse them with energy. This might be as simple as having negatively changed uranium or plutonium atoms coming into contact with positively charged uranium or plutonium atoms. Or perhaps with laser or electromagnetic forces. With the constant 1g acceleration method a ship can span the entire diameter of our galaxy in 24 ship/113,000 Earth years. Systems with stars similar to our sun can be reached in under 10 ship years.
Misshaped proteins, also known as prions, are altered proteins that can cause infections in the nervous system. They are difficult to kill and can lead to serious diseases such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and mad cow disease. So dealing with prions and similar proteins on a new planet is a huge challenge.
Interstellar travel isn't impossible, but it's extremely challenging with current technology. The vast distances between stars, the need for immense energy, and long travel times are major obstacles. While scientists explore concepts like warp drives and wormholes, we're far from making interstellar journeys a reality for now.
It is impossible with our current ECONOMIC system. Nobody has the $$$ to finance it. We don't even finance schools and infrastructure well. Whose taxes do you raise? NASA cannot even get the funding it needs to send some people to the moon again. Imagine the taxpayers needing to come up with another trillion dollars every time the "warp factor" increases by one? AND if it were to happen it would have to be a worldwide effort. The entire world would have to unite and share their resources and our world is not "united" at all. Basically you need the sociology of STAR TREK.
i doubt wed need much in terms of gene therapy, im sure we'd eventualy have the tech for things like artificial gravity. We already have tech for blocking radiation, as primitive as it is. Though i'd be more concerned about the potential diseases and parasites you might get from foreign life forms (if there are any). always find these kinds of videos interesting to think about, so much to see out in space!
I interstellar travel already I have no problems ever in a bubble of my own generated energies. I transit space at the speed of thought considerably faster than the speed of light I'm usually headed to Sirius B a Blue star
Bacause NASA is trying making The Space Ship what's fast as Speed of Light, I believe traveling here on Earth with The Speed of Light is more possible than traveling in Space with The Speed of Life through The Whole Solar System and outside of it, outside of our Milkyway Galaxy and going to a new Galaxy, that will takes a long time and I believe it will not happen even in my life-time and i'm a 21 years old guy, still a kid who's really interested of Space. 🚀🌌
This channel is constantly pimping out EVE Online, so I'm guessing they're one of Ridddle's biggest sponsors. It's a pretty cool concept for a game, but they pimp it out in damn near all of their videos and literally attempt to wrap their content around it instead of coming up with their own ideas.
The quality of their videos has definitely declined, too. This was one of my favorite channels due to their top-notch content, but it's not so top-notch anymore. It doesn't help that they go far out of their way to practically advertise within their videos to the point that I feel like I'm just watching promotional material. People don't want to sit through 30 second UA-cam ads, let alone watch 20 minute long commercials. In three days, they've had 19k views but only 741 likes -- despite being a majorly successful channel -- so I'm clearly not alone in thinking that their content quality has declined. It's definitely not getting any better, either.
I think it is best to send robots on interstellar travel they can check out if the planets are able to support human liife. The human body is very fragile. Space is a very dangerous place. Robots do not need food oxygen or water.
@@blueblade455life itself is so mysterious, let alone it's origins, that if you told me that living beings, cells, DNA, RNA or whatever was introduced by aliens, I wouldn't be surprised. It's as stunning as learning that a living thing appeared from inorganic material
Impossible for Humans, but not AI lifeforms, who could terraform future planets for us. Humans are goofy ... What helps us live on earth is in large part a magnetosphere and that must be possible to replicate without resorting to gene therapy. Magnetism electricity and other energy are not different but just presentations of same phenomenon. Hope AI sorts it out for us.
In short...no. Interstellar travel IS not possible. That's not to say it won't be possible in the future, but frankly...I doubt it. I don't think aliens have visited earth, nor do I think we will ever visit another planet. The risks and technological barriers are just too great. Just to go to Mars...a totally inhospitable planet with no usable water and almost no atmosphere...would take months. Yoyager 1 is now in the Kuijper Belt and it took 50 years to get there. No human could possibly endure such a voyage. Warp speed is not possible. Even if I were to travel at the speed of light, I would be dead before I ever reached our nearest star. It was a huge achievement for man to reach and walk on the moon. But that is pretty much in our back yard.
Thanks for the notification of this video. I thought for sure I'd unsubscribed from Ridddle's idiotic channel ("One day, we'll DEFINITELY achieve Faster Than Light Travel!"). Apparently I didn't. Corrected.

Nitpick here. You had "Marvel Studios" tagged during a clip of a DC movie.

Realistically if we could find a way for infinite electricity and resources could technically just build a planet.
You should honestly change the video's title to "Twenty-three Minute Long Advertisement for a Video Game."
In my opinion, the best way of exploring space and other planets is using a robotic avatar remotely controlled.

As I have always said we will become alien to each other due to different environments.
