A fine revew for a fifine microphone. I think in future reviews coming up with presets that could be used with your specific XLR interface or even just on the nobs vs no preset cleanup could show how a mic like this could be tweeked to sound amazing.
Holy, yeah you can hear the difference between the Fifine and the Shure, but it sounded so good for a tenth of the price it sure is amazing! I think I know what mic I'm gonna be buying now, thank you!
Also you must to add sound filter in any mic's for get the best sound , Buy the lower price and add sound filter i think that's a good idea For save your money
Nah the arm would've most certainly improved the noise rejection on the FiFine. The base of the fifine is just a massive disk thats coupled to and touching your desk which means if you bang on the desk, click your keyboard those sound waves are reverberating through the base and being picked up by the mic. I still don't think the rejection would be on the sm7b's level but I reckon there would be some improvement for sure.
After watching a bunch of reviews for different microphones, the AM8 completely outshines most, if not all, 200-300 range mics for a 4th of the price. I instantly bought it, it arrives today.
Hey, maybe a bit late and of topic, but what in ear do you use 1:39 ? I am thinking of switching form my regular headset, because of the typical headphone hair.
I bought this mic to use xlr. I went with this mic because most of my budget went into my gaming pc and a go xlr. I will upgrade the mic later on for sure though
Not that strange, these type of mics is getting more popular because they're offering entry-level users one more option on their way to being experienced. When they're still out of reach to use a proper XLR setup in terms of skill and budget, but not satisfied with the audio quality from the USB connection, they have a compromised setup, not breaking the bank, but up the audio a little bit. Anyway, it just provides an option so they don't need to always stick with the USB.
if you use a xlr you might as well get a bigger microphone since to me the sound is rarely noticeable what i would say is the $50 dollar mic sound a bit louder than the other one but difference is probably not noticeable to the audience who watches the whole video
Using it on my PS5, my only complaint is the LED lights, I don't want it at all 😅 I gotta turn it off every time. Sounds great, party chat approved. Also you may need to buy a separate USB 3.1 cable for it to work properly, the cable it comes with wasn't good for me.
The Finfine one didn't sound so bad. The other one was a little better. I just got a bose headset and this mic is on sale so I wanted a better mic since I plan on using this for work meetings. I wonder if it'll pick up other room noises like my son screaming in the other room.
They're quite different mic, if your Yeti works fine for you, then maybe the condenser mics are more suited to you. And if you don't need an interface to control your mic, then you may not necessarily need an XLR model. In a nutshell, if your Yeit works fine, then it's not a bad idea to stick with it until you really need the upgrade.
Does the dual output (USB & XLR) of AM8 operate alternately or can they be used simultaneously? If they can be used simultaneously, is it possible as a backup in case one of them encounters an issue? How about K688? Can the USB & XLR be used simultaneously? I appreciate your assistance.
The USB & XLR of both the AM8 and K688 can work simultaneously! And most of these types of mics should do, so yes, you can definitely use one of the connections for the audio backup.
HI, for voice overs for UA-cam videos ( like talking in general, narrating or doing trivias) which mic would you recommend? I want to use a mic that works with my samsung tab s 8 plus but there's so many that is hard to choose 😅 I saw a review for the Hyperx Solocast, the seiren mini and this one. I would really appreciate your help :)
My snowball doesn't even pick up my keyboard and it's on my desk even though I don't think I pound my board that hard like damn... but I'm definitely getting it
Hay You compared the am8 usb to the shure in the gaming section for noise suppression. but you didn't try comparing the am8 xlr to the shur. I don't feel the analysis is complete.
hey not exactly sure why but at 4:32 you only tested the fifine AM8 with the usb or at least thats whats highlighted in the clip i get this is a year old video but i just wanted to point that part out im not sure if there was a reason for that it not being included as its a review of the full ability of the microphone and seeing its a part where most people would use such mic i figured it would be important to show not only the USB but XLR not hating great video and was very helpful
Ok after using this mic for a while now I confirm that sound quality isnt bad at all the only thing is that the volume of the mic is fairly low even after adjusting it to max if there are software features that is use to adjust the mic please let me know thanks
Not really, the K688 could be better for its clearer highs. For casual instrument recording, the USB-only mic may do the job like our K669B. Or give yourself more flexibility and better audio quality by investing in an XLR-only K669D plus an audio interface.
hi revan just came across this review , i just started streaming and i stream directly from my ps5 console and i use a condenser mic with xlr to usb directly into ps5 and my sound is very far or echoes with lots of background noise even after adjusting sound settings in console. so i was wondering if this fifine microphone would work great with the ps5 directly with usb
It works with PS5 and since it's not even close to the sensitivity of a condenser mic, it will pick up much less background compared to any condenser models. But in the case where you won't be able to use any plugins as you do on a computer, even a dynamic mic will capture some of the background.
Hello, I bought this mic the last week and I cant get rid of the static noise. I tried almost everything (change the port, using an usb hub, diferent pc) and nothing helps. Do u know why?
I'd love to own an SM7B one day, but I'm definitely going to need to bust my ass to afford one. I love chunky looking mics that still look modern, so this is right up my alley- I've been running with the K669B from the same manufacturer for two or three years now and with a wind screen it's passable but I'm definitely looking for upgrades lol. Looks like this one fits the bill :)
I listened on sennheiser momentum 3 Bluetooth headphones which are some of the best there are, and could hardly hear a difference through UA-cam, especially on the USB mode.
It may require some tests and trial, but since it's not a sensitive condenser, it shouldn't have much problem dealing with yelling and screaming. But yes, adding a compressor filer will definitely make it safer from clipping.
Behringer xm8500 - amazing for the price. T.bone BC500 - i have sticked to this one. Superlux D421 - ok, but more expensive and harder to drive. King Bee II - very nice, but huge, very heavy and kinda price'y.@@apratimsingh1306
When using with PS5 and running into statics, testing out with different USB cables is a good way to go, either the type-c to type-c cable to plug into the front USB port of PS5 or the type-c to type-a one to go into the back of the PS5.
@@ExitiumD The way i have it set up: The included stand propped up on the box it comes in, thats right next to my mouth. I use external software to make it sound better; It does pick up the keyboard if you set the gain too high(theres a sweet spot where you get your voice and no keyboard though!) for context my keyboard and mouse are infront of my mic which is closer to me and in front of my mouth.
I think the hyperx quadcast is not worth the money at all. That is personal opinion and not influenced by this free product. I have always been pretty apprehensive when it comes to the quadcast. Hyperx makes some understanded mice however.
I think the Quadcast is a condenser mic, isn't it? So completely different focuses. If you're going to use it on a computer, specially for gaming or working (meetings and stuff), the AM8 or any decent quality dynamic mic will be miles better than any condenser mic just because dynamic vs condenser. I know the comment is old, but someone might come in here wondering the same.
Sorry no, it doesn't include any software, but you can do it with the third-party one like the reaper plugins, or the filters in OBS. Btw, the tone of the AM8 is more towards the lows, so if you're not favor those kind of warm and deep radio podcast sound, it may not be the best fit for you.

It's sounds like this may be more of an environment issue. Are you keeping the microphone close to your face? Is your room very echoy?
@@revanful I am keeping the microphone close and the room is not echoey at all. Idk why the mic just pics up background noise so sensitively
