  • Used wild boar fat to lubricate the shaft of the water wheel and Carve a trough from a log - Ep.156
    I need to make a trough to store water, fortunately I have a big log right next to the tent.
    I used the ax to remove the outside and the inside of the log to form a trough for the water. After I finished the trough, I needed to make another ladle to draw water.
    The trough holds a lot of water, everything is fine.
    The subtitle as well as the detailed article I will update at the website "primitiveskills.net", the official website of Primitive Skills

    works better if the wood is dry so it can soak up the fat. the main point of using animal fat/tallow is not to lubricate the wood its to stop the wood from soaking up water so it doesnt expand as much or becomes softer and has more traction.

    IT would be SUPER cool to see you utilize gears to speed up the rotation of your grind wheel. A simple 3 gear connection would 4x the rotation speed of your wheel. What do you think?? @Primitive Skills

    • @PTemnikov
      @PTemnikov 2 роки тому +3

      There is not enough power in water wheel to speed up grind wheel. He has to remake at least water wheel and pipeline to increase overall power of system and/or make whole system more precise to decrease power loss on unnecessary moments like front-back motion of grind wheel.
